This study is a qualitative case study of 5 substance abusers recovered from drug addiction. It is useful socially and practically to understand about the rehabilitation and its process of recovering from drug addiction. Since this study deals with very private and sensitive issues, qualitative research approach is suitable. Data were collected through one to one in-depth interviews, and were analyzed by using analysis within/cross cases suggested by Creswell(2007). 5 individual cases were presented including substance addicts experiences and recovery process through within-cases analysis. Based on the within-cases analysis, common themes were presented through cross-cases analysis. Total 19 themes, related with recovery from substance addicts, were derived from the five individual cases, and 4 common themes were classified. These 4 common themes were first, recovery of sense of reality, second, taking self-existing pattern, third, self reconstruction in the context of social network, fourth, self-love. Based on the study results and discussions, practical implications were suggested to help persons claiming recovery from substance addicts for their recovery and rehabilitation.

The partial cDNA of the MT-c clone encoding snake venom metalloprotease was subcloned and expressed in E. coli. The expressed metalloprotease was purified by affinity chromatography in the presence of urea, and then successfully refolded into its functional form, retaining metalloprotease activity that hydrolyzes fibrinogen. The simple and convenient refolding strategy established in this work was highly efficient in recovering the recombinant enzyme activity. Experimental evidence suggests that the C-terminal amino acid stretch of 16 residues is a critical sequence for proper folding of the metalloprotease domain.

Estimation of the edge of a distribution has many important applications. It is related to classification, cluster analysis, neural network, and statistical image recovering. The problem also arises in measuring production efficiency in economic systems. Three most promising nonparametric estimators in the existing literature are introduced. Their statistical properties are provided, some of which are new. Themes of future study are also discussed.

Using some interesting convolution, we find kernels recovering the given function f. By a slight change of this convolution, we obtain an identity filter related to the Fourier series in the discrete time domain. We also introduce some techniques to decompose an impulse into several dilated pieces in the discrete domain. The detail examples deal with specific constructions of those decompositions. Also we obtain localized moving averages from a decomposition of an impulse to make hybrid Bollinger bands, that might give various strategies for stock traders.

In many multiple regression analyses, the “multi-collinearity” problem arises since some independent variables are highly correlated with each other. Practically, the Ridge regression method is often adopted to deal with the problems resulting from multi-collinearity. We propose a better alternative method using iteration to obtain an exact least squares estimator. We prove the solvability of the proposed algorithm mathematically and then compare our method with the traditional one.

The deionization behavior in plasma during arc discharge of mercury arc rectifier depends on ambipolar diffusion. It is shown here in the quantitative analysis that a diameter of arc path which affects the mercury arc rectifier characteristics is related with the density of charged particles in plasma, the particle number of extruguish ion, the deionizing time and the recovering time of grid controlled ability. The conclusion would he useful for designing a diameter of arc path of mercury arc rectifier by quantitative method. And it could be applied to the designing of electrical apparatus using arc discharge phenomena.

This paper proposes an approach for recovering the orignal signal's spectrum from the spectra of a certain number of subsequenses, obtained by downsampling the original sequence. Closed-form expressions for the missing samples in terms of the known samples are obtained by exploiting the linear dependence relationship among the spectra of downsampled subsequences.

One of the main techniques for diagnosing heart disease is by examining the electrocardiogram(ECG). The earlier noise reduction techniques can not effectively cancellation complex noise from the noisy ECG such powrline interference, baseline drift, muscle artifact. In this paper, we performed the extrude noise from and recovering the ECG signal using wavelets transform that has recently been applying to various fields.

A Teaching and Operating Expert System (TOES) was designed in order to perform a task effectively which is inaccessible to man. Once an error occurs in the middle of the task operation, the automatic mode is converted into a manual mode. After recovering the error by the manual mode, the manual mode should be converted into the automatic mode. It was necessary to improve the manual mode in order to increase the availability of a man-robot system, a part of the human interface technique. Therefore, the Error Recovery Expert System must be constructed and developed.
