Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and test effects of a child health management program based on cooperative learning for mothers of preschool children. Methods: For this quasi-experimental study, a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Outcome measures were level of child health management self-efficacy, child health management practices, child's health behavior. Participants were 55 mothers (experimental group 28, control group 27). The program was composed of 6 categories of home health management for preschool children, and provided for three 120-minute sessions. Data were collected from September to October, 2015, at 3 times: baseline, 3 and 6 weeks after beginning the intervention. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: After 3 and 6 weeks, there were significant differences between the two groups in child health management self-efficacy (F=18.33, p<.001), child health management practices (F=8.91, p<.001), and child's health behavior (F=9.91, p<.001). Conclusion: Study findings indicate that this child health management program based on cooperative learning is effective and can be recommended as an intervention for mothers of preschool children. It will contribute to enhanced child health management self-efficacy and health management practices and improved child's health behavior.

This study was designed to explore health promoting lifestyle patterns (HPLP) and self-care activities and identify related variables of patients with rheumatic disease. One hundred fifty rheumatic patients were recruited from two university based rheumatic centers according to selection criteria. Collected data were analyzed using SAS program through which with a structured questionnaire. T-test. ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients were tested. The results were as follows: 1. The mean HPLP score of the subjects was 2.71, showed significant differences with economic condition and educational level. The better economic condition and more educated, showed the higher HPLP score. 2. They showed the highest practices in nutrition(mean score=3.11), and the lowest practices in exercise(mean score = 1.99). 3. The mean self-care activity score of the subjects was 3.36, showed significant differences with economic condition and educational level. The better economic condition and more educated, showed the higher self-care activity score. 4. The HPLP score of the subjects showed positive correlations with self-care activity score(r= .66). Developing health promotion programs focused on exercise and stress management is recommended not only for better health practices of patients with rheumatic disease but also for enhancing their level of well-being and life satisfaction.
Seafaring is an important occupation that requires stringent hand hygiene practices as a basic method for preventing food-borne illness and infectious diseases when the diseases occur on board. The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for the prevention of food-borne illness and infectious disease on the ship by investigating the level of hand hygiene practices and influencing factors. A total of 222 seafarers were surveyed at a seafarers' educational institution between July and August 2017. Their hand hygiene practice were examined by a modified method using the guidelines which are recommended by the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Hand Hygiene Australia. The mean of hand hygiene practice was 47.97 out of 75 points. By category, the most frequent hand hygiene practice was measured as 4.04 on a 5-point scale as 'after working'. Factors affecting hand hygiene practices were ship tonnage relating to in job characteristics, exercise in health-related characteristics, and soap in relation to the characteristics of the hand hygiene environment on board. To improve hand hygiene among seafarers, it is necessary to raise awareness of hand hygiene among seafarers who work on small ships in particular, and to improve the systems of hand hygiene on ships with continuous education, hygiene practice evaluation and feedback.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Over the past few decades, Malaysia has been experiencing an increased prevalence of overweight and obesity that threatens the health of Malaysians. Poor dietary intake is one of the major contributors to the development of obesity and many non-communicable diseases. The dietary intakes of adults in Malaysia were assessed to determine the association between the dietary intake variables and the body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) measurements. This study examined whether the dietary intake achieved the recommended nutritional guidelines and compared the intakes between both sexes. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The height, weight, and WC of four-hundred-and-ninety adults (n = 490) in Malaysia were measured using standard procedures. The three-day 24-hour dietary recalls were conducted on 422 out of the 490 adults and their dietary intakes were evaluated in detail. The selected dietary intake variables were used to determine the associations with the obesity indicators. RESULTS: Among the participants, 52.8% were overweight or obese. After data analysis, the mean energy intake was 1,550 kcal/day, in which male participants had a significantly higher energy and macronutrients intake than females. Protein consumption and its percentage of energy contribution exceeded the recommended range. The consumption of fruits, vegetables, and milk and milk products were lower than the recommended number of servings for a healthy diet. The male participants consumed significantly more servings of carbohydrate-based foods, meat, and fats, oils, and sweets than females. Among the selected dietary intake variables, only the carbohydrate intake was negatively associated with the BMI (Estimate b = -0.008) and WC measurements (Estimate b = -0.019) after adjusting for covariates. CONCLUSIONS: This study evaluated the dietary intakes of a sample of Malaysian adults and its association with the obesity indicators. The results highlight the need for improvements and modifications of the dietary intake of Malaysians to reduce the overweight and obesity rates.
This study was designed to clarify how nurses and nursing students perceive their clients' needs for spiritual nursing care, it's practices, and problems. The purpose was to suggest directions for the development of spiritual nursing practice. The major findings are as follows : Respondents primarily perceived spiritual nursing as nursing care designd to help terminally ill patients accept death. Many of the respondents showed a high level of awareness of spiritual nursing care and its necessity. Few of them, however, bad actual experience in spiritual care. Those with experience in spiritual nursing care tend of take either a religious approach or perceived it as the therapeutic use of the self. The greatest problem related to the practice of spiritual care was found to be lack of time. Most of nurses and nursing students were found to be well aware of the needs for spiritual nursing care but were hindered from practising it because of the lack of time. To resolve the problem it was recommended that the scope of nursing practice be readjusted and that pre-and in-service programs should be developed to further heighten nursing students' interest in spiritual nursing care.
The objective of study is to evaluate design standards related to the allowable truck speeds, taper length and sign requirements together with the operating practices and economic justification for climbing lanes. Field surveys were carried out on seven climbing lanes, three on two-lane and four on four-lane freeways. Data collected are traffic volume, speed, usage rate and delay. It is found that current design criteria for determining the length of climbing lane, taper lengths, and traffic sign requirements must be upgraded. It is also recommended that regulations on the use of climbing lane be established to make it more effective. Further, economic analysis revealed that the climbing lane is economically justified for two-lane and four-lane freeway if the AADT is over 4,577 and 5,116 vehicles respectively.
ISBP(International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Letters of Credit) was approved in Rome in October 2002 and was published in January 2003. ISBP was already stipulated on the article 13(a) of UCP 500 as the basis of examination of documents. But there was no specific contents on what is ISBP. So, by using the ISBP of the ICC, bank practitioners can bring their practices in line with these followed by their colleagues worldwide. In this Article, the writer will compare with UCP 500 and ISBP and korea banks' practice and consider the possibility of conflict among them. To the conclusion, It is recommended to reestablish the relations between UCP 500 and ISBP. And It is also required to maintain the consistency in using the terms calculation the period and using the reserving wordings.
The current reform recommendations in the United States have been widely recognized but the outcomes with regard to the teaching practice in the classroom were evaluated as ineffective to faster students' mathematical learning. Given this, this paper reviews the current mathematics education reform in terms of the typical and the recommended teaching practices. An analysis of influences of theoretical perspectives is then provided as an attempt to explore the underpinnings that implicitly motivate the current reform movement. This paper then identifies the difficulties in implementing reform ideals. Building on the review and the analysis, this paper finally provides implications of re-conceptualizing mathematics instruction in the current reform era.

The outdoor lighting is provided for a variety of purposes, for work or recreation, for safety or security, for amenity and for advertising or display. But the effects of lighting on the natural environment can be difficult to quantify. At present, in many countries, various policies to manage the light trespass from outdoor light have been planned. For example, Model Lighting Ordinance(MLO) will allow communities to drastically reduce light pollution and glare and lower excessive light levels. The recommended practices of the IES can be met using readily available, reasonably priced lighting equipment. So, it this paper, we analyze the effect of road lighting on light trespass using by RELUX program. And then we consider the possibility of practical application of BUG rating in Korea.
A convenience samples of Korean-Canadian/American adults who lived in Pacific coast areas, were studied in 2000. Total of 130 adults of 37 ($29\%$) from Vancouver, 45 ($35\%$) from San Jose and 47 ($36\%$) from Los Angeles were analyzed by length of residence, as the shorter residence group resided for less than 20 years and the longer residence group resided for 20 years or more. It was observed that the Korean-Canadians/Americans, who resided there for almost two decades, still kept Korean foods and food-patterns very strongly, even though parents' generation showed less acculturated food patterns than children's generation. In spite of those practices, they gave high values mostly on their dietary acculturation and on educating their children about diets. However the longer residence group showed slightly less positive acculturation attitudes than the shorter one. Therefore the longer abroad seemed to make immigrants more for their children to keep dietary traditions. It is recommended that length of residence should be considered when planning dietary foodservices at nursing care systems for Korean Canadians/Americans.
