  • This paper provides an empirical analysis of the effects of trust determinants on firm performance in the buyer-supplier relationships by considering warehousing firms in Busan, South Korea. We employed AVAS transformation regressions to address the limitations of linear regressions and found nonlinear relationships between firm performance and trust determinants. Specifically, "longterm and repeated interactions," "geographical proximity," and "cultures and norms of firms and formal institutions" had positive linear relationships with firm performance, and "information sharing and reciprocity" induced an increasing pattern in firm performance. Finally, "interdependence and asset specificity" and "uncertainty removal" led to a decreasing pattern in firm performance. These results suggest that the relationship between trust and firm performance is contingent on the trust determinants that are important source of trust in buyer-supplier relationships and the influence of trust determinants on firm performance varied according to their levels.

  • This study examined the effects of value-in-behavior toward pro-social consumption behavior on consumers' pro-social practices and the moderating effects of consumer's social capital based on trust and reciprocity that enhances collective actions to seek socially common values. The result showed that the value-in-behavior toward pro-social consumption was positive in general, and altruistic value was the highest, followed by emotional value, social value, and functional value. The pro-social behaviors of age groups were significantly different. In all pro-social behaviors, the older group was more active, except for the rejection of the unfair business. The result also showed that the functional value and emotional value have significant effects on consumer's pro-social practices. The interaction effects between trust and emotional value and between reciprocity and functional value were significant. Based on these results, the theoretical and practical implications for facilitating the transition to the direction of consumer's role in making positive social impacts.

  • 'Trust' is 'believing and relying on people or things', and at the same time, it is the foundation and essential condition of existence of a specific community or society. How blockchain technology creates trust can be found in the fact that it is a technology shared by all participants. As a shared technology, blockchain itself shows three characteristics: transparency, immutability, and availability. Because it is shared, it is transparent, and because it is shared, it is immutable, which is difficult to modify or delete. In addition, since it is shared, the entire system operates normally even if some failure occurs. The significance of trust created based on this blockchain technology can be summarized in three aspects as follows. The first is to understand the problem of trust in connection with technology. Second, understanding the relationship between information and trust begins to pay attention. Third, based on the expanded information processing capability, it is possible to establish a large-scale, concrete relationship without central mediation.

  • The concept of social capital has recently been highlighted in most fields of social science because social capital is believed to be an alternative of market and government failures. However, social capital is of high ambiguity that hinders in conceptualizing and modeling that can differs from the premises, such as whether social capital lies in individual actors or collective substances, or whether social networks are functioning by rationality or emotion. This study therefore tries to examine the concept of social capital and suggest 6 types of it following by the anthropologic concept of 'reciprocity' as well as to provide fruitful discussions on the introduction of social capital variables to System Dynamics modeling of sustainable development. Conclusively, the introduction of social capital to the integration models of environment-economy-society should be based on strongly understanding the social networks, individual identities, and local particularities of the relevant localities in order to enhance the structural validity and applicability of sustainable development models in System Dynamics.

The only personnel and organizational factors to affect KS intention, WP and IB are reciprocity(in personnel factor) and trust(in organization factor). Those factors mean the mental or psychological relationship among employees. So, to make more developed knowledge management in hospitals is to need more personal relationship than any other system management or incentives.

  • This study conducted a survey research in order to prove the influence of public libraries on the creation of social capital. The analysis showed that the use of public libraries is generally focusing on information activities on a personal level and it is not extended to establish social relationships or form social trust between people on social level. If the personal information activities in public libraries are expanded to share information and opinions with other people, however, it can establish social relationships across people mediated by public libraries. It also has the possibilities to induce library users to participate reciprocal activities on social level. As a result, the information activities in public libraries on personal level can be extended to social levels mediated by public libraries, which can affect the creation of social capital. Based on these results, public libraries need to consider the social responsibilities on creating social capital as well as supporting information activities of members of society.

  • This study examined the effects of social capital on psychological identity and practical wellbeing for the Korean baby boom generation. To achieve this, an empirical survey was carried out on baby boomers who use elderly welfare centers and cultural centers living in D City. The overall research results showed that trust (t=6.893, p<.05), participation (t=5.157, p<.05), network (t=8.093, p<.05), and norm and reciprocity (t=4.787, p<.05), as sub-factors of social capital for baby boomers, had a significant effect on their practical wellbeing. Psychological identity was moderated (t=2.023, p<.05) in the effect of trust on practical wellbeing, adopting the hypothesis. This means that the social ties and the strong trust relationship between family members and relatives, which built up amid rapid economic growth, work with positive expectations of social capital and have a major effect on practical wellbeing. Moreover, practical welling also rated high, along with the high trust relationship and psychological identity. Consequently, various exchange programs and group and volunteer activity programs for baby boomers should be established to decrease their psychological identity due to the loss of social roles. Moreover, the decline of activities at a time of retirement can slow practical wellbeing.
