In the present study, hybrid vigour in terms of heterosis and over dominance of newly evolved bivoltine hybrids and their reciprocals raised from the promising newly evolved bivoltine breeds were calculated for the important parameters like pupation, cocoon yield, cocoon weight, shell weight, shell ratio, raw silk percentage, filament length and neatness. Through there was no significant difference among the hybrids for the characters pupation, cocoon yield and cocoon weight, the magnitude of heterosis and over dominance were varied significantly for these characters. However, significant differences were observed between new hybrids and control hybrid for the characters like cocoon shell weight, cocoon shell ratio, filament length and raw silk percentage. The results indicate that majority of new hybrids have shown higher heterosis and over dominance than control hybrid. The data also indicate that highest mean heterosis of all new hybrids was recorded for cocoon yield followed by filament length. Whereas highest mean over dominance was recorded for cocoon yield followed by cocoon weight. Negative mean heterosis and over dominance were recorded for the trait cocoon shell ratio. Based on the results, the importance of three hybrids viz., CSR2 ${\times}$ CSR4, CSR2 ${\times}$ CSR5 and CSR3 ${\times}$ CSR6 and their reciprocals (CSR4 ${\times}$ CSR2, CSR5 ${\times}$ CSR2 and CSR6 ${\times}$ CSR3) which exhibited significant heterosis and over dominance, for commercial exploitation was discussed.

The present investigation was carried out to study the possible cause for reciprocal difference in silkworm hybrids. By utilising the polyvoltine race Pure Mysore (PM) and newly evolved breeds (CSR2, CSR5, CSR16 and CSR17), the direct and reciprocal crosses of polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine and also bivoltine hybrids were studied. The hybrids of polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine (direct) are superior to their reciprocal crosses in respect of cocoon yield, cocoon weight and filament length. The reciprocal crosses of polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine are superior to their direct crosses in respect of fecundity and short larval duration. No significant differences were observed in the characters like cocoon shell ratio, raw silk percentage, denier, reelability and neatness in both polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine direct crosses and their reciprocals. The expression of cocoon characters as a function of sex revealed that direct crosses (polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine) showed higher cocoon weight, pupal weight, shell weight and longer filament length in females than the reciprocal crosses (bivoltine ${\times}$ polyvoltine), where as these characters in males were almost the same in both direct and reciprocal crosses, indicating that the sex-linked genetic factor played a more important role. it was clear that difference in cocoon yield observed in reciprocal crosses of polyvoltine ${\times}$ bivoltine was due to the low cocoon and shell weight in females which was turn due to presence of early maturity genes (Lme) linked with sex-chromosome (X) which effect on larvae period of the silkworm. In bivoltine hybrids, i.e., both direct and their reciprocals crosses, all the characters viz., hatching percentage, larval duration, survival, cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, cocoon shell ratio, raw silk percentage, filament length, denier, reelability and neatness did not show any significant difference (except number of eggs laid by moth) which could account for presence of same maturity genes (Lm) in both direct and reciprocal crosses. it was clear that reciprocal differences occur when the hybrids are prepared from the parental strains with different voltinism.

This paper addresses the problem of testing whether the means in several inverse Gaussian populations with heterogeneity are equal. The analysis of reciprocals for the equality of inverse Gaussian means needs the assumption of equal scale parameters. We propose Bayesian model selection procedures for testing equality of the inverse Gaussian means under the noninformative prior without the assumption of equal scale parameters. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the objective Bayesian model selection procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factor under the reference prior. Simulation study and real data analysis are provided.
A new approximation method for finding the steady-state probabilities of the number of customers present in queueing systems with Poisson arrivals and two servers with different deterministic service times with infinite waiting room capacity is developed. The major assumption made for the approximation is that the residual service times of the servers have mutually independent uniform distributions with densities equal to the reciprocals of the respective service times. The method reflects the heterogeneity of the servers only through the ratio of their service times, irrespective of the actual magnitudes and difference. The transition probability matrix is established and the steady-state probabilities are found for a variety of traffic intensities and ratios of the two service times; also the mean number of customers present in the system and in the queue, and server utilizations are found and tabulated. The method was validated by simulation and turned out to be very sharp.
A family of $Ap{\acute{e}}ry$-like series involving reciprocals of central binomial coefficients is studied and it is shown that they represent transcendental numbers. The structure of such series is further examined in terms of finite combinations of logarithms and arctangents with arguments and coefficients belonging to a suitable algebraic extension of rationals. Monotonicity of certain quotients of weighted binomial sums which arise in the study of competitive cheap talk models is established with the help of a continuous extension of the discrete model at hand. The monotonic behavior of such quotients turns out to have important applications in game theory.
This study aims at the observation of some analytical levels-especially those of syntactico-semantical- of the visual expressions in general. As far as the syntactical parts are concerned, there were two steps to be approached. One is to select the paradigms according to the Saussure-Hambidgean suggestions, the other to derive syntagmas from what is called the 'chaos-system', one of nonlinear dynamics. In result, paradigms could be acquired 5 sorts with its so many varieties, as visual templates(VT), supplemented by their reciprocals(R) and complements(CLE), and syntagmas five orbits from each constant c=0 to c=10. In additional, in connection with semantic parts, the study introduced a Gremasian model of discourses and narratives for the interpretation of signifiers. By this, we could cover the conjunctive relationships(+) and the disjunctive(-) of the whole structure of visual expression. Finally, we certified that the above could be fully approved in terms of recent worldly cognitive scientic psychological discoveries.
Diallel analysis was conducted with FI's derived from crossing in all combinations without reciprocals among six rice varieties; three tropical japonica and three temperate japonica varieties, with different traits associated with panicle and flag leaf. Epistasis was observed in the number of primary branches (PB) per panicle and of spikelets per panicle, while flag leaf length, flag leaf color, PB length and neck node thickness were explained with the additive-dominance model. The estimated genetic mode of flag leaf length and PB length was a positive complete dominance model with high heritability, and that of flag leaf color and neck node thickness was an incomplete dominance model. In particular, tropical japonica varieties with low-tillering and heavy-panicle appear to have higher number of dominant genes for flag leaf length and PB length than temperate japonica varieties.
Abstract A study on the Derivation of the Unit Hydrograph using Multiple Regression Moe이. The purpose of this study is to deriver an optimal unit hydrograph suing the multiple regression model, particularly when only small amount of data is available. The presence of multicollinearity among the input data can cause serious oscillations in the derivation of the unit hydrograph. In this case, the oscillations in the unit hydrograph ordinate are eliminated by combining the data. The data used in this study are based upon the collection and arrangement of rainfall-runoff data(1977-1989) at the Soyang-river Dam site. When the matrix X is the rainfall series, the condition number and the reciprocal of the minimum eigenvalue of XTX are calculated by the Jacobi an method, and are compared with the oscillation in the unit hydrograph. The optimal unit hydrograph is derived by combining the numerous rainfall-runoff data. The conclusions are as follows; 1)The oscillations in the derived unit hydrograph are reduced by combining the data from each flood event. 2) The reciprocals of the minimum eigen\value of XTX, 1/k and the condition number CN are increased when the oscillations are active in the derived unit hydrograph. 3)The parameter estimates are validated by extending the model to the Soyang river Dam site with elimination of the autocorrelation in the disturbances. Finally, this paper illustrates the application of the multiple regression model to drive an optimal unit hydrograph dealing with the multicollinearity and the autocorrelation which cause some problems.

General and specific combining ability effects of six bivoltine breeds of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) were evaluated for six quantitative characters through diallel method wherein parents, $F_{1}s$ and reciprocals are involved. The breeds $APS_{11}\;and\;APS_{2}$ were found to be the best general combiners for most of the traits studied. The high estimates of specific combining ability (sca) variance (${\sigma}^{2}s$) compared to general combining ability (gca) variance (${\sigma}^{2}g$) indicated the predominant role of non-additive gene action in the control of all the characters. Positive sca effects for majority of the traits were expressed by the combinations $APS_{13}{\times}APS_6,\;APS_{13}{\times}APS_2,\;APS_{11}{\times}APS_6\;and\;APS_5{\times}APS_2$ out of 15 crosses. Among the 15 reciprocal crosses studied, the combination $APS_8{\times}APS_{13}$ showed positive reciprocal effects for all the six traits. With both the parents $APS_5\;and\;APS_2$ being good general combiners the hybrid $APS_5{\times}APS_2$ showing high sca effects is recommended for commercial use.
