Optical system design of a mobile LIDAR for air polution research (대기오염 연구용 이동형 LIDAR 광학계 설계)

  • A optical system of a movile LIDAR is designed for air pollution research. After the inverse Cassegrain type collimator, the laser beam falls on the mirror which serve for coinciding optical axis of laser beam and the receiving telescope. Then, it is directed into the atmosphere and back scattered radiation back to the receiving telescope by the scanning mirror. The unit of scanning mirror allows to rotate the mirror along the altitude 0$^{\circ}$~60$^{\circ}$, and the azimuth 0$^{\circ}$~360$^{\circ}$. The scanning mirror is not connected with the receiving telescope but placed on the roof of the mobile. The received beam is spatial filtered by a spatial filter and collimated by a fabric lens. Thereafter, the beam is devided into 2 channel for registration by a beam splitter. Each laser beam is transformed into an electrical signal by means of the photomultifier and then processed to be analyzed.

The Development and Establishment of high Speed Data Receiving ang Archiving System Using Low Cost RAID Storage (저비용의 RAID 저장장치를 이용한 고속 테이터 수신저장 시스템의 개발 및 구축)

  • This paper describes the establishment result of high speed data receiving and archiving system(HDRAS) using data receiving card(DRC) developped by SaTReC and low cost RAID(Redundant Array of Independent Disks) storage instead of expensive enterprise RAID storage. We used three S-ATA2 type hard disks and performance test program developped by SaTReC to receive and save data at 350Mbps. Finally, we verified that the HDRAS using low cost RAID storage has a capacity to process received data at 79MB/s(632Mbps).

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the different shapes of condenser of the direct contact heat transfer from the heat pipe condenser to the receiving water using CFD. The heat transfer from the working fluid of the heat pipe to receiving fluid flows through the manifolder is one of the important part in evacuated solar collector system. The retrenchment of the thermal resistance between the heat pipe and the manifolder could increase the thermal performances of the whole system. Recently, direct heat transfer from the heat pipe condenser wall to the receiving water was suggested and accompanied experiments were achieved. This experiment shows the better performances of the direct contact heat transfer analogically. Preceding calculations are carried out for the performance comparison: mesh dependence test, discretization method test and equation model test. with these preceding tests, 4 different shapes of condenser are compared and each case were set up for the same heat flux at the condenser wall. The calculation result shows that the efficiency of the extended surface condenser shape is 10% higher then the that of the others.

  • Satellite television receiving antenna is required for watching TV on the vehicles, ship and car. Recently TV is not only facility as getting information but one of utility in our life. In Korea, already on the service multi-channel satellite TV using excellent visibility and sound, and there are many users using now by fixing antenna. On this thesis, developed ship's satellite TV receiving antenna, the azimuth controlling is adopted azimuth information using gyro sensor and differential of receiving signal strength algorithm, and elevation controlling used gimbals. The result of this research is successfully implemented Korean satellite tracking antenna as performance until ${\pm}$30 degree roll and pitch of ship motion.

  • The KOMPSAT2 Terminal Polar Station was recently installed at near North Pole, Tromso, and Toulouse. The K2PS consists of one receiving station and two processing sites. The receiving station has been installed at SvalSat ($N78^{\circ}$, $E15^{\circ}$ ), and the two receiving sites have been installed at KSAT (Kongsberg Satellite Service AS), Tromso, Norway ($N69^{\circ}$ ,$E18^{\circ}$ ) and SISA, Toulouse, France ($N43^{\circ}$ ,$E1^{\circ}$ ). The products ofK2PS system can be classified to two categories: Level 1R product and Level 1G product. The Level 1R product is radiometric corrected product with RPC (Rational Polynomial Coefficients) and the Level 1G product is geometric corrected product with POD (Precise Orbit Data) and PAD (Precise Attitude Data) data based on Level 1R product. To meet a SISA (Spot Image SA)'s requirement, K2PS system has high performance product producing capability. This paper describes overall K2PS systems' production generation flow and the mass production test result of K2PS systems.

  • This paper describes the design and test results of engineering qualification model(EQM) of mass memory unit(MMU) for STSAT-3. The MMU for STSAT-3 having 32Gb mass memory capacity is capable of receiving and transmitting the mission data from MIRIS(Multi-purpose IR Imaging System) and COMIS(Compact Imaging Spectrometer) at 100Mbps and 10Mbps. The performance of EQM MMU was verified by the tests of data receiving from two payloads and data transmission to the data receiving system. Moreover, the vibration and thermal vacuum test was performed to verify the launch vehicle and space environments.

Effects of scaling and root planing with or without a local drug delivery system on the gingival crevicular fluid leptin level in chronic periodontitis patients: a clinico-biochemical study

  • Purpose: The present split mouth study evaluates the effect of nonsurgical periodontal treatment on the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) leptin level in chronic periodontitis. Methods: Ninety sites from 30 nonobese chronic periodontitis patients were selected and divided as follows: group I, 30 healthy sites receiving no treatment; group II, 30 periodontitis sites receiving scaling and root planing (SRP); and group III, 30 periodontitis sites receiving SRP with tetracycline local drug delivery. At baseline, after GCF sampling and clinical parameter recording, the assigned treatment was performed for the study groups. During recall visits, GCF sampling followed by clinical parameter recording was done for groups II and III. Results: Reductions in the probing depth and the clinical attachment level (CAL) were highly significant at different time intervals (except between day 0 and 45) in both groups II and III. Upon comparison, group III showed significant gain in CAL between day 0 and 15 and between day 0 and 45. After treatment, the reduction in the GCF leptin level was more significant in group III than in group II at day 15 but re-elevated almost to the pretreatment levels at day 45. Conclusions: Nonsurgical periodontal therapies were not effective in maintaining stable reduction in the GCF leptin level during the study period.

  • In this paper, we propose the method of controling the turns of a receiving coil for the matching directly to the receiver input impedance(typically $50{\Omega}$) with a maximum wireless power transfer(WPT) efficiency. Based on the presented the expression of the optimum load depending on a system figure of merit, number of the turns of a receiving coil, and proximity effect between conducting lines, the theoretical efficiencies have been compared with the measured ones with a good agreement. The results of this work may be used to realize a allowable maximum efficiency with a simple and low-profile 2-coil WPT system not requiring a separate feeding loop.

  • In this study, dldctronic identification system of individual dairy cow was developed for autocatization of stoxkvreeding management. To automize the breeding management, it is necessary to obtain and analyze the individual information distinguished from others perferentially. Electronic identification system can distinguish individual livestock from others with electromagnetic wave signal recognition system. Electoronic identification system consists of transmitter transmitting the oscillated signal and receiver set. The transmitted signal from transmitter clung to individual livestock is received from the receiving antenna and the signal in different according to the established value of the register. By distinct signal recieved from the reciever, wi can distinguish the identity of a livestock from others clearly. This system can manage $2^{12}$ individuals with a reciever theoretically. However in order to reduce the errors by analogous signal, this system uses only triple number and can manage 1365 individuals with a reciever practically. This system can be connevtted to Max 232 and microcomputer for the breeding management efficiently.

  • Recent improvement in semiconductor technology make efficient switching possible at higher frequencies, which benefits the application of wireless inductive energy transfer. However, a higher frequency does not alter the magnetic coupling between energy transmitter and receiver. Due to the still weak magnetic coupling between transmitting and receiving sides that are separated by a substantial air gap, energy circulates in the primary transmitting side without being transferred to the secondary receiving side. This paper proposes an analysis on the system efficiency to determine the optimal impedance requirement for coils, rectifier and DC-DC Converter. A novel Boost DC-DC Converter is designed to provide the optimal impedance matching in WPT(Wireless Power Transfer) system for various loads.
