In this paper, we compare three models (logistic regression, Random Forest, and XGBoost) for predicting stroke occurrence using data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). We evaluated these models using various metrics, focusing mainly on recall and F1 score to assess their performance. Initially, the logistic regression model showed a satisfactory recall score among the three models; however, it was excluded from further consideration because it did not meet the F1 score threshold, which was set at a minimum of 0.5. The F1 score is crucial as it considers both precision and recall, providing a balanced measure of a model's accuracy. Among the models that met the criteria, XGBoost showed the highest recall rate and showed excellent performance in stroke prediction. In particular, XGBoost shows strong performance not only in recall, but also in F1 score and AUC, so it should be considered the optimal algorithm for predicting stroke occurrence. This study determines that the performance of XGBoost is optimal in the field of stroke prediction.
The purpose of this study is to develop Music Recall Technique for affect modification using programmed series of classical music, and further to apply the technique as therapeutic intervention for clients with anorexia nervosa. Music Recall Technique is composed of two sub-technique: first one is 'Music Recall(MR)' which is the way to reproduce of existing music on one's head and mind after listening to the music, and second intervention is 'Creative Music Recall(CMR)' which is the way to modify the exposed musical pieces or newly learned musical pieces. A client with anorexia nervosa with severe anxiety, anger and depression participated in this case study. The MRT is implemented in different stages pertaining to client's level of utilizing the music recall skill for the period of 10 sessions. Situations eliciting negative emotions were identified and music recalling was reinforced for the pertaining situation in order for the negative emotion to be coped and reduced by the end of session time. The client participated for 10 sessions, and was asked to fill out self-report on the affect change using MRT. Visual Analogue Scale was used for pre and post test for each session to measure the self perceived level of negative affect. State-trait anxiety inventory was also used to measure the anxiety level following the implementation of MRT. As results, negative emotions, such as anxiety, anger and depression were modified during stimulative-sedative music recall process. These negative emotions were decreased mostly during stimulative MR, especially, in the beginning process. Each negative affect on negative situation measured by VAS during each and entire session have been decreased. Negative emotion measured by state-trait anxiety inventory, state-trait anger expression inventory, and hopelessness-depression inventory were decreased as well. The results suggest that stimulative music using contemporary classic music was effective in reduction and modification of negative affect such as anxiety, anger and depression. It shows that Music Recall Technique can be a meaningful intervention for affect modification, and further it can be utilized as self-help in the outside of music therapy setting.
This investigation compared the eyewitness accounts of 5-year-old children by verbal-only inter views and interviews using anatomically neutral dolls. The verbal interviews consisted of free recall, specific question, and leading questions. While the overall accuracy of the interviews increased with the introduction of dolls as memory aids, the efficacy of the dolls was not uniform across types of interviews. In free recall, the dolls were not effective in eliciting accurate accounts. The use of dolls also did not compromise the memory of children in free recall which recalled greater number of correct details with the memory aids than without, but it should be careful in free recall could be reported exactly correct in spite of little bit amounts. Responses to leading questions showed that the children were affected by suggestive misleading question and were susceptible to incorporation of that information into their memory.
This study was designed to examine various patterns of developmental change in children's recall, strategic behaviors, and meta-memory with a sort-recall task in relation to utilization deficiencies. Memory tasks consisting of 18 pictures were presented individually to 48 seven-year-old children in each of 7 sessions. Sessions 1 and 2 were baseline; Sessions 3 and 4 were for strategy training, including the organization group, the self-regulation group, the organization/self-regulation group and control group. Sessions 5, 6, and 7 were unprompted tests of strategy maintenance. Results showed significant differences between the 4 groups in their recall, strategy repertories and strategy evaluation. Findings were discussed in terms of the analysis of memory strategy and memory development.
This study investigated the effects of macrostructure on discourse processing. In this study, three different story were employed to form macrostructures on different times, and reading time, sentence verification time and free recall rate were measured as dependent vari- ables. The results showed that forming the macrostructure influenced the reading and verification times and the recall rate. The results were interpreted to indicate that the macrostructure is important to comprehend and recall the stories, and that the story grammars, hierarchies of story schema and causal relation of sentences affect the comprehension and recall through their interaction in macrostructure.
This study examined two laws protecting consumer's safety, the 'Product Liability Law' and 'Legal Regulations on Recall Service.' and investigated the need for and importance of the laws. Second, the requirements regarding the procedures for implementing these laws were reviewed. Regarding the 'Product Liability Law', the study considered how the damage and injury of consumers caused by defects in production would be compensated and under what conditions. Regarding the law to regulate Recall service, this study reviewed when and how producers must recall their products because of their defects. Finally, the directions for enacting these laws were suggested, and several difficulties arising from their enactment were considered. Several suggestions were made to enact these two raws in order to enhance comsumer safety, consumer sovereignty, and consumer well-being.

Telemarketing has been used in finance due to the reduction of offline channels. In order to select telemarketing target customers, various machine learning techniques have emerged to maximize the effect of minimum cost. However, there are problems that the class imbalance, which the number of marketing success customers is smaller than the number of failed customers, and the recall rate is lower than accuracy. In this paper, we propose a method that solve the imbalanced class problem and increase the recall rate to improve the efficiency. The hybrid sampling method is applied to balance the data in the class, and the stacked deep network is applied to improve the recall and precision as well as the accuracy. The proposed method is applied to actual bank telemarketing data. As a result of the comparison experiment, the accuracy, the recall, and the precision is improved higher than that of the conventional methods.

Radiation recall is an uncommon phenomenon in which administration of a chemotherapy or another systemic agent induces an acute inflammatory reaction in previously irradiated tissues, often weeks to years after completion of radiotherapy. Gemcitabine can induce an inflammatory reaction within an area of prior radiation. Radiation recall is known to medical oncologists, however only few cases have been reported in Korean journals, therefore physiatrist who diagnose and treat the treatment-related physical impairments of cancer patients must know about it. We emphasize the importance of knowledge of this phenomenon when considering the differential diagnosis of painful limb edema in a patient who has received cancer treatment.

This study examined the effects of information volume and distribution on learners' cognitive load and recall in a mobile augmented reality (AR) environment. Information volume refers to the degree of information users are provided in a learning task, while information distribution indicates the way in which information is distributed, either in a virtual or real format. Sixteen undergraduate students participated in the study, which employed a 2 × 3 randomized block factorial design with repeated measures. Information volume and distribution were independent variables, and factors in learners' cognitive load (mental effort, perceived ease of use, and perceived task difficulty) and recall test scores were the dependent variables. Information volume had significant main effects on perceived ease of use and task difficulty, and recall test scores, while information distribution had significant main effects on perceived task difficulty and test scores. A detailed discussion and implications are provided.
In this paper, we design and implement the Film Defect Inspection System (FDIS) that detects film defects and determines their types which can be used for producing polarized films of TFT-LCD. The proposed system is designed to detect film defects from polarized film images using image segmentation techniques and to determine defect types through the image analysis of detected defects. To determine defect types, we extract features such as shape and texture of defects, and compare those features with corresponding features of referential images stored in a template database. Experimental results using FDIS show that the proposed system detects all defects of test images effectively (Precision 1.0, Recall 1.0) and efficiently (within 0.64 second in average), and achieves the considerably high correctness in determining defect types (Precision 0.96 and Recall 0.95 in average). In addition, our system shows the high robustness for rotated transformation of images, achieving Precision 0.95 and Recall 0.89 in average.
