In this paper we suggest the new calibration estimator, which is called to the recalibration estimator, and its variance estimator using two-phase sampling technique according to the auxiliary information having strong correlation with the variable of interest under the unit nonresponse. In this unit nonresponse situation, an available information may exists at the level of whole population or the first-phase sample. The proposed recalibration estimator derives from the first and second phase weights respectively.
In this paper, Frequency Domain Mode Locked(FDML) wavelength swept laser with 55.027 kHz sweeping speed and 125 nm sweeping range has realized, and also a new method for recalibrating a nonlinear frequency sweeping of a swept laser has proposed. The Swept Source-Optical Coherence Tomography system using the proposed method has performed. For a mirror surface, the system showed the very clean 2-dimensional image and the advanced image speed of 7 frames per sec compared to the previous recalibration method.
In this paper, a new method for linear sweeping of wavelength swept laser has proposed, and the linear sweeping of 1kHz speed and 80nm range has realized by using this method. The proposed requires only one-shot calibration in the early stage on a wave pattern applied to FFP-TF. This makes the problem with nonlinear swept lasers like a cumbersome and time-consuming signal processing brought on by every recalibration to be resolved.
Kendrick plots offer an alternative visualization of mass spectral data which reveals ion series and patterning by turning a mass spectrum into a map, plotting the fractional mass (wrongly called mass defect) as a function of mass-to-charge ratios and ion abundances. Although routinely used for polymer mass spectrometry, two unreported applications of these Kendrick plots are proposed using the program "kendo2": the graphical recalibration of a mass spectrum via the simulation of a theoretical fractional mass and a multi-segment fit; and the rapid evaluation of scan-to-scan variation of accurate mass measurements used as tolerances for the blank subtraction of UPLC-MS data files. Both applications are compatible with any type of high-resolution MS data including LC/GC-MS(/MS).
This study was carried out to analyze chemical components in burley tobacco using near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS). Samples were collected in '96 and '97 crop year. Calibration equations were developed by modified partial least square. The standard error performance(SEP) of '96 crop year samples between NIRS and standard laboratory analysis were 0.25% for nicotine, 0.18% for total nitrogen, 0.59% for crude ash, 0.32% for ether extracts, and 0.14% for chlorine, respectively. The analytical results of '97 crop year samples were similar to those of '96 crop year samples. The analytical result of '97 crop year samples analyzed by '96 calibration equation was more inaccurate than that of '96 crop year samples. The SEP of '96 or '97 crop year samples applying calibration equation derived from '96 plus '97 crop year samples was similar to that of '96 or '97 crop year samples analyzed by '96 or '97 calibration equation, respectively. The SEP of '97 crop year samples analyzed by calibration equation derived from '96 plus '97 crop year samples was more accurate than that of '97 crop year samples analyzed by '96 calibration equation. To improve the analytical inaccuracy caused by the difference of crop year between calibration and prediction samples, we need to include the prediction sample spectra which were different from calibration sample spectra in recalibration sample spectra, and then develop recalibration equation. The NIRS can apply to analyze burley leaf tobacco, leaf process or tobacco manufacturing process which were required the rapid analytical result.
Daily net radiation is essential for heat budget analysis for environmental impact assessment in the coastal zone and longwave radiation is an important element of net radiation because there is a significant exchange of radiant energy between the earth's surface and the atmosphere in the form of radiation at longer wavelengths. However, radiation data is not commonly available, and there has been no direct measurement for most areas where coastal environmental impact assessment is usually most needed. Often an empirical equation, e.g., Penman and FAO-24 formulae is used to estimate longwave radiation using temperature, humidity, and sunshine hour data but local calibration may be needed. In this study, local recalibration was performed to have best fit from a widely used longwave equation using the measured longwave radiation data in Korea Global Atmospheric Watch Center (KGAWC). The results shows recalibration can provided better performance AE=0.23($W/m^2$) and RMSE=14.73($W/m^2$). This study will contribute to improve the accuracy of the heat budget analysis in the coastal area.
In this paper, we propose an efficient and simple fair queuing algorithm, called new starting potential fair queuing (NSPFQ), which has O(1) complexity for virtual time computation and also has good delay and fairness properties. NSPFQ introduces a simpler virtual time recalibration method as it follows a rate-proportional property. The NSPFQ algorithm recalibrates the system virtual time to the minimum virtual start time among all possible virtual start times for head-of-line packets in backlogged sessions. Through analysis and simulation, we show that the proposed algorithm has good delay and fairness properties. We also propose a hardware implementation framework for the scheduling algorithm.
In this study, a novel method for sweeping automatic linearization of wavelength swept laser is proposed. Through the test performed on the implemented laser, the linear sweeping is held up well with a 97% decrease in nonlinearity, and 60 nm sweeping range, 1 kHz sweeping frequency, and 8.8 mW average optical power were obtained. The proposed method uses fiber Bragg grating array, optical-electronic conversion circuit, FPGA embedded module, and a LabVIEW program to generate new compensated wave patterns which were applied to the fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter. Linear sweeping can reduce the cumbersome and time-consuming recalibration process required for nonlinear sweeping. Additionally, the proposed method provides more accurate measurement results for the structure safety monitoring system.
In this study, a PID control method for sweeping automatic linearization of a wavelength swept laser is proposed. First, the closedloop transfer function embodying the PID control is derived. Through the simulation of the function, Kp = 0.022, Ki = 0.008, Kd = 0.002 were obtained as the best PID coefficients for fast linear sweeping. The performance test using the PID coefficients showed that linear sweeping was held up well with a 98.7% decrement in nonlinearity after the 10th feedback, and 45 nm sweeping range, 1 kHz sweeping frequency, and 8.8 mW average optical power were obtained. The equipment consists of a fiber Bragg grating array, an optical-electronic conversion circuit, and a LabVIEW FPGA program. Every 5s, automatic feedback and PID control generate a new compensated waveform and produce a better linear sweeping than before. Compared with nonlinear sweeping, linear sweeping can reduce the cumbersome and time-consuming recalibration processes and produce more accurate measurement results.
This study was conducted to analyze chemical components in flue-cured tobacco using near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS). Samples were collected in '96 and '97 crop year and were scanned in the wavelengths of 400 ~ 2500 nm by near infrared analyzer(NIRSystem Co., Model 6500). Calibration equations were developed and then analyzed flue-cured samples by NIRS. The standard error of calibration(SEC) and performance (SEP) of '96 crop year samples between NIRS and standard laboratory analysis(SLA) were 0.18% and 0.24% for nicotine, 1.60% and 1.77% for total sugar, 0.13% and 0.15% for total nitrogen, 0.58% and 0.68% for crude ash, 0.23% and 0.28% for ether extracts, and 0.09% and 0.08% for chlorine, respectively. The coefficient of determination($R^2$) of calibration and prediction samples between NIRS and SLA of '96 crop year samples was 0.94~0.99 and 0.83~0.97 depending on chemical components, respectively. The SEC and SEP of '97 crop year samples were similar to those of '96 crop year samples. The SEP of '97 crop year samples which were analyzed using '96 calibration equation was 0.32 % for nicotine, 2.72% for total sugar, 0.14 % for total nitrogen, 1.00 % for crude ash, 0.48 for ether extracts and 0.17% for chlorine, respectively. The prediction result was more accurate when calibration and prediction samples were produced in the same crop year than those of the different crop year. The SEP of '96 and '97 crop year samples using calibration equation which was developed '96 plus '97 crop year samples was similar to that of '96 crop year samples using 96 calibration equation and that of '97 crop year samples using '97 calibration equation, respectively. The SEP of '97 crop year samples using calibration equation which was developed '96 plus '97 crop year samples was lower than that of '97 crop year samples analyzed by '96 calibration equation. To improve the analytical inaccuracy caused by the difference of crop year between calibration and prediction samples, we need to include the prediction sample spectra which are different from calibration sample spectra in recalibration sample spectra, and then develop recalibration equation. Although the analytical result using NIR is not as good as SLA, the chemical component analysis using NIR can apply to tobacco leaves, leaf process or tobacco manufacturing process which demand the rapid analytical result.
