Conventionally, 2WS is used for vehicle steering, which can only steering front wheel. In case of trying to high speed lane change or cornering through this kind of vehicle equipped 2WS, it may occur much of Yaw moment. On the other hand, 4WS makes decreasing of Yawing Moment, outstandingly, so it is possible to support vehicle movement stable. And conventional ABS and TCS can only possible to control the longitudinal movement of braking equipment and drive which can only available to control of longitudinal direction. There after new braking system ESP was developed, which controls both of longitudinal and lateral, with adding of the function of controlling Active Yaw Moment. On this paper, we show about not only designing of improved braking and steering system through establishing of the integrated control system design of 4WS and ESP but also designing of the system contribute to precautious for advanced vehicle stability problem.

In the vehicle communication system, transferred information is needed to be detected as possible as fast in order to inform car status located in front and rear side. Through the moving vehicle information, we can avoid the crash caused by sudden break of front one or acquire to real time traffic data to check the detour road. To be connecting the wireless communication between the vehicles, fast timing synchronization can be a key factor. Finding out the sync point fast is able to have more marginal time to compensate the distorted signals caused by channel variance. Thus, we introduce the combination method which helps find out the start of frame quickly. It is executed by auto-correlation and cross-correlation simultaneously using only short preambles. With taking the absolute value at the implemented synch block output, the proposed method shows much better system performance to us.

This paper presents a path planning algorithm of the unmanned aerial vehicle for the neutralization of the enemy firepower. The long range firepower of the ememy is usually located at the rear side of the mountain which is difficult to bomb. The path planner not only consider the differential constraints of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) but also consider the final approaching angle constraint. This problem is easily solved by incorporating the analytical upper bounded continuous curvature path smoothing algorithm into the Rapidly Exploring Random Tree (RRT) planner. The proposed algorithm can build a feasible path satisfying the kinematic constraints of the UAV on the fly. In addition, the curvatures of the path are continuous over the whole path. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can generate a feasible path of the UAV for the bombing mission regardless of the posture of the tunnel.
Lane change in urban environments is a challenge for both human-driving and automated driving due to their complexity and non-linearity. With the recent development of deep-learning, the use of the RNN network, which uses time series data, has become the mainstream in this field. Many researches using RNN show high accuracy in highway environments, but still do not for urban environments where the surrounding situation is complex and rapidly changing. Therefore, this paper proposes a lane change possibility decision network by adopting Attention layer, which is an SOTA in the field of seq2seq. By weighting each time step within a given time horizon, the context of the road situation is more human-like. A total 7D vectors of x, y distances and longitudinal relative speed of side front and rear vehicles, and longitudinal speed of ego vehicle were used as input. A total 5,614 expert data of 4,098 yield cases and 1,516 non-yield cases were used for training, and the performance of this network was tested through 1,817 data. Our network achieves 99.641% of test accuracy, which is about 4% higher than a network using only LSTM in an urban environment. Furthermore, it shows robust behavior to false-positive or true-negative objects.
According to the Korean Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS), more than 200,000 traffic accidents occur every year. Also, the statistics including auto insurance companies data show 1.3 million traffic accidents. In the case of TAAS, the types of traffic accidents are simply divided into four; frontal collision, side collision, rear collision, and rollover. However, more detailed information is needed to assess for advanced driver assist systems at intersections. For example, directional information is needed, such as whether the vehicle in the car accident way in a straight or a left turn, etc. This study intends to redefine the type of accident with the more clear driving direction and path by referring to the Negligence standards used in automobile insurance accidents. The standards largely divide five categories of car-to-car/motorcycle /pedestrian/cyclist, and highway, and the each category is classified into dozens of types by status of the traffic signal, conflict situations. In order to present more various accident types for auto insurance accidents, the standards are reclassified driving direction and path of vehicles from crash situations. In results, the car-to-car accidents are classified into 33 accident types, car-to-pedestrian accidents have 19 accident types, car-to-motorcycle accidents have 38 accident types, and car-to-cyclist accidents are derived into 26 types.
The seating postures of passengers in the automated driving vehicle are possible in atypical forms such as rear-facing and lying down. It is necessary to improve devices such as airbags and seat belts to protect occupants from injury in accidents of the automated driving vehicle, and collision safety evaluation tests must be newly developed. The purpose of this study is to define representative types of head-on collision accidents to develop collision standards for autonomous vehicles that take into account changes in driving behavior and occupants' postures. 150 frontal collision cases remained by filtering (accident videos, images, AIS 2+, passenger car, etc…) and random sampling from approximately 320,000 accidents claimed by a major insurance company over the past 5 years. The most frequent accident type is a head-on collision between a vehicle going straight and a vehicle turning left from the opposite side, accounting for 54.7% of all accidents, and most of these accidents occur in permissive left turns. The next most common frontal collision is the center-lane violation by drowsy driving and careless driving, accounting for 21.3% of the total. For the two types above, data such as vehicle speed, contact point/area, and PDOF at the moment of impact are obtained through accident reconstruction using PC-Crash. As a result, two types of autonomous vehicle crash safety test scenarios are proposed: (1) a frontal oblique collision test based on the accident types between a straight vehicle and a left-turning vehicle, and (2) a small overlap collision test based on the head-on accidents of center-lane violation.

Computer simulations are widely used to analyze passenger safety in simulated traffic accidents. ATB, Articulated Total Body, is a computer simulation model developed to predict gross human body response to such dynamic environments as vehicle crashes and pilot ejections. ATB, whose code is open, has high flexibility and application capability that users can easily insert defined modules and functions. ATB is, however, inconvenient as it was coded in FORTRAN and it needs a formated input file. Moreover, it takes much time to make input files and to modify coding errors. This study aims to increase user friendliness by adding a preprocessor program, WINATB(WINdows ATB), to the conventional ATB. WINATB, programmed in Visual C++ and OpenGL, uses ATB IV as a dynamic solver. The preprocessor helps users prepare input files through graphic interface and dialog box. An additional postprocessor makes the graphical presentation of simulated results. In these case of the frontal crash, the rear impact and the side impact, the simulation results obtained by WINATB and MADYMO(MAthematical Dynamic Model) are compared to validate the effectiveness of WINAIB.
The car requires an inside mirror installed between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat to ensure the driver's rear and side view of the driver. Inside mirrors must always be attached to the vehicle to ensure the driver's visibility. Inside mirrors attached to the windshield of a vehicle are always exposed to direct sunlight and should be semi-permanently usable in hot and humid summer weather in Korea. Therefore, the mirror mount, which is the junction of the inside mirror, is particularly important in corrosion resistance and wear resistance suitable for humidity. Mirror mounts are currently difficult to manufacture due to their reliance on powder molding technology in advanced countries such as Japan and Germany. This paper focuses on the fabrication of high corrosion resistant stainless mirror mounts by vacuum sintering technique and focuses on the selection of materials suitable for the production of mirror mounts through experiments of 300 series stainless steel and 400 series stainless steel manufactured by vacuum sintering.
A number of passive aerodynamic drag reduction methods were applied separately and then in different combinations on an intercity bus model, through wind tunnel studies on a 1:20 scale model of a Mercedes Benz Tourismo 15 RHD intercity bus. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling was also conducted in parallel to assist with flow visualisation. The commercial CFD package $CFX^{TM}$ was used. It has been found that dramatic reductions in coefficient of drag ($C_D$) of up to 70% can be achieved on the model using tapered and rounded top and side leading edges, and a truncated rear boat-tail. The curved front section allows the airflow to adhere to the bus surfaces for the full length of the vehicle, while the boat-tails reduce the size of the low pressure region at the base of the bus and more importantly, additional pressure recovery occurs and the base pressures rise, reducing drag. It is found that the CFD results show remarkable agreement with experimental results, both in the magnitude of the force coefficients as well as in their trends. An analysis shows that such a reduction in aerodynamic drag could lead to a significant 28% reduction in fuel consumption for a typical bus on intercity or interstate operation. This could translate to a massive dollar savings as well as significant emissions reductions across a fleet. On road tests are recommended.

In this paper, a waveguide antenna is designed and fabricated for side and rear radar sensor of vehicles in UWB (Ultra Wide Band) high band (center frequency : 9.5 GHz, -10 dB bandwidth : 600 MHz (6.4 %)). For the radar antenna, a probe fed rectangular waveguide antenna having simple structure and wide bandwidth is used. An important performance factor in this antenna is the isolation between transmitting (TX) and receiving (RX) waveguide antennas because this radar system uses TX and RX antennas separately. Thus the isolation between two antennas was simulated for E-plane and H-plane array. As a result, it was verified that the isolation of the H-plane array of the antennas is better than E-plane array, due to the TE10 mode. Therefore, H-plane arrayed waveguide antennas were mounted on a T-shaped radar module and performance of antennas was investigated. The -10 dB bandwidth of the TX and RX antenna mounted on T-shaped radar module was measured as 1000 MHz (10.52 %) and 1090 MHz (11.47 %) respectively and the isolation is less than -50 dB in the operation band. The peak gain is 7.65 dBi for the TX antenna and 7.26 dBi for the RX antenna and the beamwidth of H-plane of TX and RX antenna was measured as $64^{\circ}$ and $65^{\circ}$ respectively. Consequently, we verified that the proposed waveguide antenna is appropriate for a vehicle radar applications.
