머시닝센터 장착형 연마 로봇의 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (A study on the improvement of performance of polishing robot attached to machining center)

  • Cutting process has been automated by progress of CNC and CAD/CAM, but polishing process has been depended on only experiential knowledge of expert. To automate the polishing pricess polishing robot with 2 degrees of freedom which is attached to a machining center with 3 degrees of freedom has been developed. this automatic polishing robot is able to keep the polishing tool normal on the curved surface of die to improve a performance of polishing. Polishing task for a curved surface die demands repetitive operation and high precision, but conventional control algorithm can not cope with the problem of disturbance such as a change of load. In this research, we develop robust controller using real time sliding mode algorithm. To obtain gain parameters of sliding model control input, the signal compression method is used to identify polishing robot system. To obtain an effect of 5 degrees of freedom motion, 5 axes NC data for polishing are divided into data of two types for 3 axis machining center and 2 axis polishing are divided into data of two types for 3 axis machining center and 2 axis polishing robot. To find an efficient polishing condition to obtain high quality, various experiments are carried out.

  • In this paper, we performed the implementation of image transmission server system using embedded system that is for the specified object and easy to install at any places and move to wherever. Since the embedded system has lower capability than PC, we have to reduce the quantity of calculation and transmission. The image compression like JPEG, needs that the server calculates for making compressed image, makes the server carry the load. So we compresses the image at the server and transmit the codes to the clients connected, then the received codes from server are decoded and displayed at the clients. In this process to make the image compression and transmission effectively, we decrease the procedure as simple as possible to transmit the data in almost real-time. We used the Redhat linux 9.0 OS at the host PC and the target board based on embedded linux. The image sequences are obtained from the camera attached to the FPGA board with ALTERA chip. For effectiveness and avoiding some constraints, we made the device driver. Generally the image transmission server is PC, but using the embedded system as a server makes the server portable and cheaper than the system based on PC.

Semi-fragile Watermarking Technique for a Digital Camera

  • In this paper, we present a digital image authentication using semi-fragile watermarking techniques. The algorithm is robust to innocuous manipulations while detecting malicious manipulations. Specifically, the proposed method is designed for the purpose of the real time authentication of an image frame captured from a digital camera due to its easy H/W implementation, security and visible verification. To achieve the semi-fragile characteristics that survive a certain amount of compression, we employ the invariant property of DCT coefficients' quantization proposed by Lin and Chang [1]. The binary watermark bits are generated by exclusive ORing the binary logo with pseudo random binary sequences. Then watermark bits are embedded into the LSBs of pre-quantized DCT coefficients in the medium frequency range. Verification is carried out easily due to visually recognizable pattern of the logo extracted by exclusive ORing the LSBs of the embedded DCT coefficient with pseudo random number seeded by a secret key. By the experiment results, this method is not only robust to JPEG compression but also it detects powerfully alterations of the original image, such as the tempering of images.

  • 영상 압축은 멀티미디어 전송에 있어 핵심적인 기술이다. 동영상 압축 기술 중 움직임 예측부는 전체 동영상 압축 부호화에서 가장 복잡한 부분으로, 멀티미디어의 실시간 전송을 위하여 고속 알고리듬이 필요한 부분이다. 본 논문은 기존의 고속 움직임 예측 알고리듬의 하나인 이진 블록 정합 움직임 예측 알고리듬을 개선하여 더욱 정확한 움직임 벡터를 찾는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 웨이블릿 변환 후 고주파 대역의 정보값을 이용해 움직임 벡터를 찾음으로써 기존의 알고리듬을 개선한다. 제안하는 알고리듬은 기존의 알고리듬의 화질을 향상시킨다.

  • This paper deals with FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) implementation of the AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) decoder. On modern computer culture, according to the high quality data is required in multimedia systems area such as CD, DAT(Digital Audio Tape) and modem. So, the technology of data compression far data transmission is necessity now. MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) would be a standard of those technology. MPEG-2 AAC is the availableness and ITU-R advanced coding scheme far high quality audio coding. This MPEG-2 AAC audio standard allows ITU-R 'indistinguishable' quality according to at data rates of 320 Kbit/sec for five full-bandwidth channel audio signals. The compression ratio is around a factor of 1.4 better compared to MPEG Layer-III, it gets the same quality at 70% of the titrate. In this paper, for a real time processing MPEG2 AAC decoding, it is implemented on FPGA chip. The architecture designed is composed of general DSP(Digital Signal Processor). And the Processor designed is coded using VHDL language. The verification is operated with the simulator of C language programmed and ECAD tool.

엔진회전속도의 변화가 HCCI엔진연소에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석 연구 (The Research about Engine Speed change Effect on HCCI Engine Combustion by Numerical Analysis)

  • In HCCI Engine, combustion is affected by change of compression speed corresponding to engine speed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism of influence of engine speed on HCCI combustion characteristics by using numerical analysis. At first, the influence of engine speed was shown. And then, in order to clarify the mechanism of influence of engine speed, results of kinetics computations were analyzed to investigate the elementary reaction path for heat release at transient temperatures by using contribution matrix. In results, as engine speed increased, in-cylinder gas temperature and pressure at ignition start increased. And ignition start timing was retarded and combustion duration was lengthened on crank angle basis. On time basis, ignition start timing was advanced and combustion duration was shortened. High engine speed showed higher robustness to change of initial temperature than low engine speed. Because of its high robustness, selecting high engine speed was efficient for keeping stable operation in real engine which include variation of initial temperature by various factors. The variation of engine speed did not change the reaction path. But, as engine speed increased, the temperature that each elementary reaction would be active became high and reaction speed quicken. Rising the in-cylinder gas temperature of combustion start was caused by these gaps of temperature.

Definition and Generation of Level 0 Product for KOMPSAT-2

  • According to the image level definition for KOMPSAT-2 in KOMPSAT-2 Ground Station Specification, the level 0 is frame formatted, unprocessed data at full resolution; any and all communications artifacts (e.g., synchronization frames, communications headers) removed. The level 0 is used for two purposes: 1) exchange of imagery between image receiving & processing element (IRPE), and 2) image transfer from the Receiving & Archiving Subsystem to Search & Processing Subsystem. On-board processing of imagery data of KOMPSAT-2 includes JPEG-like compression and encryption besides conventional CCSDS packetization. The encryption is used to secure imagery data from any intervention during downlink and compression allows real-time downlink of image data reducing data rate produced from the camera. While developing ground receiving system for KOMPSAT-2, it was necessarily to define level 0 products. In this paper, we will suggest level 0 product definition for KOMPSAT-2 and explain reasons of the decisions made. The key factor used while defining the level 0 products is the efficiency of whole ground receiving system. The latter half of the paper will explain the implementation of software that generates level 0 products. The necessary steps to produce level 0 products will be explained, and the performance achieved will be presented.

  • 센서네트워크 시스템을 응용한 u-Healthcare 시스템 기술에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이를 사람이 아닌 동물에 적용시켜 애완동물의 상태를 웹을 통하여 관리할 수 있는 uPetCare(Ubiquitous Pet-Care System)을 설계 및 구현하였다. uPetCare System의 주된 기능으로는 1) 센서를 통한 데이터의 수집, 2) 멀티-홉 통신 3) 싱크 노드에서의 데이터 압축(compression) 및 정리(aggregation), 4) 웹 서버에서의 데이터 저장, 5) AJAX 기술을 통한 실시간 정보 확인 6) 상황 인지 시스템을 통한 펫 관리 시스템을 포함한다.

H.264/AVC의 실시간 압축을 위한 고속 인터 예측 부호화 기술 (A Fast Inter Prediction Encoding Technique for Real-time Compression of H.264/AVC)

  • 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC에서 가장 많은 연산량을 차지하는 인터 예측(inter prediction)을 고속으로 수행할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 율-왜곡 최적화 기법(Rate-Distortion Optimization, RDO)이 적용된 JM(Joint Model)의 FME(Fast Motion Estimation)를 대상으로 예측된 움직임 벡터의 방향성을 고려하여 탐색영역을 결정한 후 적응적인 후보 나선형 탐색을 수행한다. 동시에 가변 블록 크기에 대하여 비용함수의 임계값(threshold)을 결정한 후 가변 구간 움직임 탐색을 수행함으로써 인터 예측의 부호화 복잡도를 감소시킨다. 다양한 영상들을 대상으로 실험한 결과 기존의 예측 방식에 최대 80%의 연산량을 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 따른 화질 열화는 평균 $0.05dB{\sim}0.19dB$에 불과하며, 압축률은 평균 0.58%의 미미한 감소를 보임으로써, 제안한 방법이 고속 인터 예측 알고리즘으로 매우 효율적인 방법임을 확인하였다.

현실과 가상현실에서 시야각이 자기중심적 거리지각에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Field of View on Egocentric Distance Perception in Real and Virtual Environment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 현실, 가상현실에서 시야각 수준을 세분화하여 지각된 거리에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구는 가상현실조건 제시에 현실조건 환경을 모방한 복제품을 사용하여 두 관찰조건을 동등하게 구성하였다. 시야각 조작을 위해 현실조건에서 시야각을 제한하는 안경을 사용하였고, 가상현실조건에서 HMD를 통해 현실과 동등한 방법으로 시야각을 제한함으로써 두 관찰조건에서 시야각 수준을 동일하게 조작하였다. 실험에 참여한 성인 18명은 현실, 가상현실 각 관찰조건에서 머리 움직임을 제한한 후 조건에 따라 상이한 제한된 시야로 대상을 관찰하였다. 이후 참가자들은 정신적으로 대상까지 걷는데 소요된 시간을 측정하는 상상보행 측정방법을 통해 지각된 거리를 보고하였다. 대상은 3 m, 4 m, 5 m 거리에 제시되었으며 각 거리수준마다 3회 반복측정 하였다. 측정한 시간 측정치는 거리로 환산하여 분석에 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 가상현실조건의 거리추정치는 현실조건보다 작았다. 또한 시야각 수준이 감소함에 따라 거리추정치가 감소하였다. 현실조건에서 거리추정치는 시야각 수준에 따라 달라지지 않았다. 그러나 가상현실조건에서 거리추정치는 시야각 수준이 감소함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 논의에서 본 실험결과와 시사점, 한계점 및 추후 연구 방향에 대해 제시하였다.
