멀티 코어 확장성을 제공하는 실시간 플래시 저장장치 시뮬레이션 (Multi-core Scalable Real-time Flash Storage Simulation)

  • 플래시 저장 장치가 저장 장치로서 널리 사용되면서 성능, 신뢰성, 견고성 등 여러 가지 측면에서 검증이 필요하여 시뮬레이션 방법론이 다양하게 연구되어 왔다. 그 결과 최근까지 플래시 저장장치 시뮬레이터는 기능적 모델링과 시간적 모델링 관점에서 많은 발전이 있었다. 그러나 이러한 발전에도 불구하고 플래시 저장장치의 노화 효과를 평가하기 위해서는 장시간의 테스트 시간을 대폭 단축할 수 있는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문은 사용자 설정에 따라 시뮬레이션 속도를 자유롭게 조절할 수 있는, 소위 멀티 코어 확장성을 제공하는 실시간 시뮬레이션 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 임의의 CPU 코어 개수가 주어져도 그에 맞는 확장 가능한 시뮬레이션 속도를 제공하며, 그 속도에 관계없이 항상 정확한 시뮬레이션 결과를 보장한다. 본 논문은 리눅스 커널 모듈 형태로 구현한 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 멀티코어 확장성과 모델의 정확성을 실험적으로 검증한다.

Distributed and Real-time Integrated Simulation System on Avionics

  • In order to achieve iterative design in early R&D period, a Distributed and Real-time Integrated Simulation System for avionics based on a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) method is proposed. The proposed simulation system includes driver, simulation model, monitor, flight visual model and aircraft external model.The effect of this simulation system in iterative design and system verification is testified by several use cases. The result shows that the simulation system, which can play an important role in iterative design and system verification, can reduce project costs and shorten the entire R&D period.

무선랜에서의 실시간 및 비실시간 트래픽 스케줄링 (Scheduling of Real-time and Nonreal-time Traffics in IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN)

  • Media Access Control (MAC) Protocol in IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN standard supports two types of services, synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous real-time traffic is served by Point Coordination Function (PCF) that implements polling access method. Asynchronous nonreal-time traffic is provided by Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) based on Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol. Since real-time traffic is sensitive to delay, and nonreal-time traffic to error and throughput, proper traffic scheduling algorithm needs to be designed. But it is known that the standard IEEE 802.11 scheme is insufficient to serve real-time traffic. In this paper, real-time traffic scheduling and admission control algorithm is proposed. To satisfy the deadline violation probability of the real time traffic the downlink traffic is scheduled before the uplink by Earliest Due Date (EDD) rule. Admission of real-time connection is controlled to satisfy the minimum throughput of nonreal-time traffic which is estimated by exponential smoothing. Simulation is performed to have proper system capacity that satisfies the Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. Tradeoff between real-time and nonreal-time stations is demonstrated. The admission control and the EDD with downlink-first scheduling are illustrated to be effective for the real-time traffic in the wireless LAN.

  • The present study has been conducted to simulate dynamics of a gas engine-driven heat pump (GHP) for the design of control algorithm. The dynamic model of a GHP was based on conservation laws of mass and energy. For the control of refrigerant pressures, actuators such as an engine throttle valve, outdoor fans, coolant three-way valves and liquid injection valves were controlled by P or PI algorithm. The simulation results were found to be realistic enough to be applied for the control algorithm design. The model could be applied to build a virtual real-time GHP system so that it interfaces with a real controller for the purpose of developing control algorithm.

  • Military Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is utilized to search a mine under the sea. This paper presents design and performance verification of real-time hybrid navigation system for AUV. The navigation system uses Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) integration method to correct INS error in underwater. When the AUV is floated on the water, the accumulated error of navigation algorithm is corrected using position/velocity of GPS. The navigation algorithm is verified using 6 Degree Of Freedom (DOF) simulation, Program In the Loop Simulation (PILS). Finally, the experiments are performed in real sea environment to prove the reliability of real-time hybrid navigation algorithm.

제어법칙 간 상호 전환 시 과도응답 최소화를 위한 전환시간에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Conversion Time to Minimize of Transient Response during Inter-Conversion between Control Laws)

  • The inter-conversion between different control laws in flight has a lot of risk. The SWM(Switching Mechanism) including logic and stand-by mode is designed to analyze the transient response of aircraft during inter-conversion between different control laws, based on the in-house software for non-real-time and real-time simulation. The SWM applies the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) to minimize the transient response of an aircraft during the inter-conversion, and applies the reset '0' type of the stand-by mode to prevent surface saturation due to integrator effect in the disengaged flight control law. The transition time is also important to minimize the objectionable transient response in the inter-conversion, as well as the transition control law design. This paper addresses the results of non-real-time simulation for the characteristics of transient response to different transition time to select the adequate transient time, and the real-time pilot evaluation, using SSWM(Software Switching Mechanism) and HSWM(Hardware Switching Mechanism), which is met for Level 1 flying qualities and assures safety of flight.

  • This paper is on 3D virtual reality simulator for terminal in connection with terminal operation system in real terminal in order to reflex complicated terminal operation and environment. This simulator has been developed based on knowledge of terminal planning and operation analysis and advanced software technologies that TSB has accumulated over 10 years. In this study, the simulator generates terminal layout and component of terminal in the same environments as the real terminal in Ohi, Japan and uses real operation system using real planning data in the past in order to describe 3D VR simulation that integrates container handling equipment and real time communication of job ordering. In addition, it is suggested various statistics and analysis report can be used to derive decision supporting factors that optimize design of terminal and improve operation, which will eventually increase terminal productivity.

목포 연육교 건설에 따른 선박 통항 안전성 평가 (Vessel Traffic Safety Assessment for the Construction of the Mokpo Bridge)

  • 현재 목포 북항과 고하도를 연결하는 목포 연육교의 건설이 추진 중에 있으며, 이 교량은 2009년 말에 완공될 예정이다. 항행수역에 건설되는 교량에 대해서는 선박 운항 측면에서의 안전성 평가가 필수적이지만, 아직 이에 대한 구체적인 지침이 마련되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는, 목포 연육교 평면 배치 계획에 대한 선박 운항 측면에서의 평가 절차를 소개하고, 교량의 계획 단계에서부터 고려되어야 하는 사항들에 대해 검토하였다. 교량의 주경간 등 전반적인 배치 계획에 대한 평가를 위해, 대상 해역에 교량이 건설된 상황을 설정하여 실시간 시뮬레이션(real time simulation) 및 배속 시뮬레이션(fast time simulation) 등의 운항 시뮬레이션을 실시하였다. 이로부터, 선박과 교각과의 충돌위험도를 추정하기 위해, 항로상에서의 선박의 항행 궤적 분포는 정규분포를 따른다는 가정 하에 통계적 분석을 수행하였다.

전산유체역학을 이용한 실시간 유체 애니메이션 기술 (Real-time Flow Animation Techniques Using Computational Fluid Dynamics)

  • With all the recent progresses in computer hardware and software technology, the animation of fluids in real-time is still among the most challenging issues of computer graphics. The fluid animation is carried out in two steps - the physical simulation of fluids immediately followed by the visual rendering. The physical simulation is usually accomplished by numerical methods utilizing the particle dynamics equations as well as the fluid mechanics based on the Navier-Stokes equations. Particle dynamics method is usually fast in calculation, but the resulting fluid motion is conditionally unrealistic. The methods using Navier-Stokes equation, on the contrary, yield lifelike fluid motion when properly conditioned, yet the complexity of calculation restrains this method from being used in real-time applications. This article presents a rapid fluid animation method by using the continuum-based fluid mechanics and the enhanced particle dynamics equations. For real-time rendering, pre-integrated volume rendering technique was employed. The proposed method can create realistic fluid effects that can interact with the viewer in action, to be used in computer games, performances, installation arts, virtual reality and many similar multimedia applications.

실시간 패킷 스케줄링을 위한 수락 제어 알고리즘 (Admission Control Algorithm for Real-Time Packet Scheduling)

  • 실시간 트래픽 전송에서 종단간 지연시간 한도를 보장하기 위한 방법으로 EDF 알고리즘을 이용한 실시간 패킷 스케줄링에 대한 많은 연구들이 있어왔다. 그러나, EDF기반 패킷 스케줄러는 비실시간 트래픽이 존재하는 경우 실시간 트래픽의 실시간 요구조건을 보장할 수 없게 된다. 본 논문에서 EDF 알고리즘을 사용하는 실시간 패킷 스케줄러에서 비실시간 트래픽을 고려하는 패킷 스케줄러 기법과 수락 제어 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 제안하는 수락 제어 알고리즘은 유사 다항 시간(pseudo-polynomial time)의 시간 복잡도를 가지지만 실험을 통해 적은 수행 시간 부담으로 사용할 수 있음을 보였다.
