CIM을 위한 Mini-MAP 네트워크 접속장치의 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implemention of a Mini-MAP Network Interface Module for CIM)

  • This paper describes implemation of 'General-purpose ETRI MAP interface module' (GEM) for Mini-MAP network. GEM operates as a Mini-MAP node in our FA system. To communicate between GEM and programmable devices(PD) such as PLC and CNC, serial communication is used. Application programs of a MiNi-MAP host system control and monitor programmable devices via GEM. GEM is implemented and tested on the basis of the MAP 3.0. TBC in the Nini-MAP board performs the function of the MAC sublayer. The LLC sublayer is implemented according to the specification of Class 3 that includes Type 1 and 3. And the MMS services are designed within the scope of implementation class MAP3. All the softwares are implemented under the real-time multitask OS for real-time application of the Mini-MAP and they are loaded into PROMs at the network board of GEM. We tested the LLC functions to make use of a protocol analyzer for the token-passing protocol. Also the MMS conformance test was carried out by exchanging primitives between GEM and a MMS product that had already passed the conformance test. Therefore GEM is proposed as a network tool of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) to integrate PDs which don't support MAP functions.

Human Motion Tracking With Wireless Wearable Sensor Network: Experience and Lessons

  • Wireless wearable sensor networks have emerged as a promising technique for human motion tracking due to the flexibility and scalability. In such system several wireless sensor nodes being attached to human limb construct a wearable sensor network, where each sensor node including MEMS sensors (such as 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis magnetometer and 3-axis gyroscope) monitors the limb orientation and transmits these information to the base station for reconstruction via low-power wireless communication technique. Due to the energy constraint, the high fidelity requirement for real time rendering of human motion and tiny operating system embedded in each sensor node adds more challenges for the system implementation. In this paper, we discuss such challenges and experiences in detail during the implementation of such system with wireless wearable sensor network which includes COTS wireless sensor nodes (Imote 2) and uses TinyOS 1.x in each sensor node. Since our system uses the COTS sensor nodes and popular tiny operating system, it might be helpful for further exploration in such field.

  • In this paper, we present the mechanical, electrical system design and system integration of controllers including sensory devices of the humanoid, KHR-2 (KAIST Humanoid Robot - 2). We have developed KHR-2 since 2003. Total number of DOF of KHR-2 is 41. Each arm including a hand has 11 DOF and each leg has 6 DOF. Head and trunk also has 6 DOF and 1 DOF respectively. In head, two CCD cameras are used for eye. To control all axes efficiently, distributed control architecture is used to reduce computation burden of main controller and to expand devices easily. So we developed the sub-controller as a servo motor controller and a sensor interfacing devices using microprocessor. The main controller attached its back communicates with sub-controllers in real-time by CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol. We used Windows XP as its OS (Operation System) for fast development of main control program and easy extension of peripheral devices. And RTX HAL extension commercial software is used to realize the real-time control in Windows XP environment.

  • 인체의 실시간 활동 모니터링은 활동량과 활동능력에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공한다. 본 연구에서 3축 가속도 센서와 무선센서노드를 활용하여 인체의 활동을 평가하고 응급상황을 인지할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 연구에 의해 구현된 실시간 시스템은 구현된 분류알고리즘을 통해 다양한 자세와 자세변화를 분류할 수 있으며, 추가적으로 낙상을 감지할 수 있다. 구현된 시스템의 성능평가 결과 높은 분류 정확성을 보였다.

  • 최근 모바일 플랫폼과 홈 네트워크 시스템과의 융합이 널리 보급되어 보편화되고 있다. 또한 모바일 기술의 발달로 손안의 작은 PC라고 불리는 스마트폰이 보급이 되면서 기존 핸드폰에서의 활용을 넘어 스마트폰에 최적화된 홈 네트워크 응용 개발이 요구되고 있다. 구글에서 개발한 안드로이드 모바일 플랫폼은 운영체제, 미들웨어 및 주요 응용프로그램을 포함한 오픈소스로 다양한 응용을 개발 할 수 있고, 모바일 기기뿐만 아니라 셋톱박스와 가전제품 등에도 탑재가 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 플랫폼의 스마트폰 상에서 주택 방안의 상태(온도, 습도, 실시간 영상 등)에 관한 정보의 실시간 모니터링과 댁내의 가전기기 등을 제어하는 홈 네트워크 서비스를 설계 구현한다.

  • This paper deals with the design and implementation of a TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor) simulator, which is a module for an analog type power system simulator. Principally, it presents configuration of controller hardware/software and its experimental results. An analog type power system simulator consists of numerous power system components, such as various types of generator models, scale-downed transmission line modules, transformer models, switches and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System) devices. It has been utilized for the verification of the control algorithm and the study of system characteristics analysis. This TCSC simulator is designed for 50% line compensation rate and considered for damping resister characteristic analysis. Its power rate is three phase 380V 20kVA. For hardware extendibility, its controller is designed with VMEBUS and its main CPU is TMS320C32 DSP (Digital Signal Processor). For real time control and communications, its controller is applied to the RTOS (Real Time Operation System) for multi-tasking. This RTOS is uC/OS-II. The experimental results of capacitive mode and inductive mode operations verify the fundamental operations of the TCSC.

경성 실시간 운영체제 RT-eCos3.0을 위한 LLF 스케줄러의 구현 (Implementation of an LLF Scheduler for the Hard Real-time OS, RT-eCos3.0)

  • RT-eCos3.0은 대표적 분산 실시간 객체 모델인 TMO(Time-triggered Message-triggered Object)의 실행을 제공하기 위하여 공개소스 eCos3.0 기반으로 개발된 초경량 경성 실시간 임베디드 운영체제이다. RT-eCos3.0에서는 그간 스레드의 최장 수행 시간 입력이 필요 없는 EDF 및 FIFO 스케줄러를 지원하여 왔다. 본 논문에서는 TMO의 시간 구동 스레드와 메시지 구동 스레드의 스레드 등록 시 최장 수행 시간을 입력 받아 이를 기반으로 마감시간까지의 수행시간 대비 잔여시간을 이용하는 LLF (Least Laxity First) 스케줄러를 클럭 인터럽트 핸들러 내에 구현하고 각 스레드로 하여금 스케줄링 정책을 선택할 수 있도록 구현하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 이산 제어 시스템의 작업 수행 시, 특정작업에 있어서의 불규칙한 시간 지연 때문에 시스템이 불안정해지는 것을 막기 위해 시간 지연을 갖는 시스템의 안정도를 분석한다. Soft real time OS인 Windows NT 운영체제를 갖는 PC-based 이산 제어 시스템에서는 하드웨어적으로 인터럽트를 사용하여 시간 제한성이 있는 작업을 수행한다. 그러나 인터럽트와 함께 수반되는 DPC(Deferred Procedure Call)의 불규칙한 수행 시간 때문에 다른 작업이 수행되어야 할 표본시간이 길어지게 된다. 이러한 현상으로 다른 작업의 시간 지연이 발생하게 되며, 시간 지연은 시스템을 불안정하게 하는 요인이 된다. 안정성 분석 면에서 보면, 시간 지연을 고려하지 않은 시스템의 극점은 안정한 위치에 존재하게 되는데 반해, 시간 지연을 고려한 시스템의 극점은 불안정한 위치에 존재하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 시간 지연이 존재하는 제어 시스템의 안정성을 보장하기 위해서 시스템의 안정성을 분석한다.

Overexpression of TRPM7 is Associated with Poor Prognosis in Human Ovarian Carcinoma

  • Background: The melastatin-related transient receptor potential 7 channel (TRPM7) is a nonselective cation channel that has been shown to promote tumor metastasis and progression. In this study, we determined the expression of TRPM7 in ovarian carcinomas and investigated its possible prognostic value. Materials and Methods: Samples were collected from 138 patients with ovarian cancer. Expression of TRPM7 was assessed by real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry, expressed with reference to an established scoring system and related to clinical pathological factors. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was applied to estimate disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS). Univariate and multivariate cox regression analyses were performed to correlate TRPM7 expression levels with DFS and OS. Results: TRPM7 was highly expressed in ovarian carcinoma and significantly associated with decreased disease-free survival (DFS: median 20 months vs. 42 months, P=0.0002) and overall survival (OS: median 27 months vs. 46 months, P<0.001). Conclusion: Overexpression of TRPM7 expression is significantly associated with poor prognosis in patients with ovarian cancer.

Down-regulation of Long Non-coding RNA TUG1 Inhibits Osteosarcoma Cell Proliferation and Promotes Apoptosis

  • Objective: To investigate the expression level of TUG1 and one of its transcript variants (n377360) in osteosarcoma cells and assess the role of TUG1 in proliferation and apoptosis in the U2OS cell line. Methods: TUG1 and n377360 expression levels in patients with osteosarcomas and the U2OS human osteosarcoma cell line were evaluated using real-time quantitative PCR. U2OS cells were transected with TUG1 and n377360 siRNA or non-targeting siRNA. MTS was performed to assess the cell proliferation and flow cytometry was applied to analyze apoptosis. Results: We found significantly higher TUG1 and n377360 expression levels in osteosarcoma tissues compared with matched non-tumorous tissues. In line with this, suppression of TUG1 and n377360 expression by siRNA significantly impaired the cell proliferation potential of osteosarcoma cells. Furthermore, inhibition of TUG1 expression significantly promoted osteosarcoma cell apoptosis. Conclusions: The overexpression of TUG1 and n377360 in osteosarcoma specimens and the functional role of TUG1 and n377360 regarding cell proliferation and apoptosis in an osteosarcoma cell line provided evidence that the use of TUG1 or n377360 may be a viable but an as yet unexplored therapeutic strategy in tumors that over express these factors.
