  • This study suggests a model of production information system that can reduce manufacturing lead time and uniformize quality by using DNC S/W as a part of constructing production information management system in the industrial field of the existing marine engine block manufacturing companies. Under the effect of development of this system, the NC machine interface device can be installed in the control computer to obtain the quality information of the workpiece in real time so that the time to inspect the process quality and verify the product defect information can be reduced by more than 70%. In addition, the reliability of quality information has been improved and the external credibility has been improved. It took 30 minutes for operator to obtain, analyze and manage the quality information when the existing USB memory is used, but the communication between the NC controller computer and the NC controller in real time was completed to analyze the workpiece within 10 seconds.

  • This study is aimed to develop a system to position and manage object flow in real time. Logistics management system which position objects and vans using GPS is required to load, unload and keep freight effectively and in real time at sea or airport. In this study, a management system which is consisted of five sub-systems is developed; GPS position analysis system, GPS interface system, mapping system, network system and database management system.

  • Real time monitoring of object position is very important in Customs Free Zone like Incheon Airport and Incheon Harbor because all logistics must be controled spatially for effective management. Real time positioning system using GPS(Global Positioning System) is apt for the monitoring of logistics. In this study, we aims to develope real time monitoring system for logistics using GPS.

  • In this paper, we apply the next generation Internet TV solution, FLV has been designed and implemented.   • In this study, which is the basis for industrial presses to target small and medium enterprises with production information system is designed.   • In this paper, we propose a precise time management and time synchronization based on real-time data storage and transmission scheme in design of seismic data acquisition system for urban earthquake disaster preventing system (UEDPS). It is possible to improve the performance of the existing research results through the proposed methods. To evaluate the performances of the proposed methods, we implemented a prototype system(H/W & S/W) and performed some experiments with real seismic data and test equipment generated data as the input.

  • As amount of information in construction industry is growing, the role of information system in project management is becoming increasingly important. With the emerging IT application to the advancing construction industry, construction project management system with advanced technology has been progressed vigorously to improve construction productivity and management efficiency. Recently, a web-based Project Management Information System (PMIS) is developed to support decision-making process by efficiently managing project related information generated from various discipline. Many firms are in the process of developing the PMIS system or already have been applied the system to various projects. However, PMIS is still in its early stage of development to be applied at industrial plant construction projects that process management is significantly emphasized for the successful execution of the project. With the complexity of the industrial plant projects, the industry practitioners need to be able to visualize the construction schedule information to manage the project efficiently. This study suggests methodologies for improving PMIS specialized for industrial plant piping construction projects to estimate the baseline schedule and performance measurement more accurately by developing a framework for the piping construction projects. By using this developed system, the researchers expect that piping construction projects will be more efficiently managed on a real-time basis through measuring progress of piping at each and every state of progress milestone and provide management with opportunities to forecast the level of efforts required to execute the remaining work scope in a timely manner

  • With the rapid development of IT technology, recently, the development of IT convergence technology related to the facility diagnosis is prevalent, and the study for the efficient integrated management scheme is required to handle all relevant information, from the design to the maintenance, including the stage of repair. In this paper, an efficient scheme to process the complex data for the facility and its diagnosis is proposed based on IT convergence technique and the real-time complex data management is designed. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed system, the real-time management system is designed for a particular facility, and the comparative results show the good performance of the proposed system.

A Real-Time Spatial DSS for Security Camera Image Monitoring

  • This paper presents a real-time Spatial Decision Support System(SDSS) for security camera image monitoring. Other SDSSs are not real-time systems, i.e., they show the images that are already transformed into data format such as virtual reality. In our system, the image is broadcasted in real-time since the purpose of the security camera needs to do it in real-time. With these real-time images, other systems do not add up anything more; the screen just shows the images from the camera. However in our system, we created a motion detection system so that the supervisor(Judge) of a sec.urity monitoring system does not have to pay attention to it constantly. In other words, we created a judge advising system for the supervisor of the security monitoring system. Most of small objects do not need the supervisor's attention since they could be birds, cats, dogs, etc. if they show up in the screen image. In this new system the system only report the unusual change to the supervisor by calculating the motion and size of objects in the screen. Thus the supervisor can be liberated from the 24-hour concentration duty; instead he/she can be only alerted when the real security threat such as a big moving object like an human intruder appears. Thus this system can be called a real-time Spatial DSS. The utility of this system is proved mathematically by using the concept of entropy. In other words, big objects like human intruders increase the entropy of the screen images significantly therefore the supervisor must be alerted. Thus by proving its utility of the system theoretically, we can claim that our new real-time SDSS is superior to others which do not use our technique.hnique.

Advance Crane Lifting Safety through Real-time Crane Motion Monitoring and Visualization

  • Monitoring crane motion in real time is the first step to identifying and mitigating crane-related hazards on construction sites. However, no accurate and reliable crane motion capturing technique is available to serve this purpose. The objective of this research is to explore a method for real-time crane motion capturing and investigate an approach for assisting hazard detection. To achieve this goal, this research employed various techniques including: 1) a sensor-based method that accurately, reliably, and comprehensively captures crane motions in real-time; 2) computationally efficient algorithms for fusing and processing sensing data (e.g., distance, angle, acceleration) from different types of sensors; 3) an approach that integrates crane motion data with known as-is environment data to detect hazards associated with lifting tasks; and 4) a strategy that effectively presents crane operator with crane motion information and warn them with potential hazards. A prototype system was developed and tested on a real crane in a field environment. The results show that the system is able to continuously and accurately monitor crane motion in real-time.
