  • 스트림 프로세싱 시스템은 실시간 데이터 수집 장치와 대규모 분산 컴퓨팅 환경이 결합되어 데이터 생성과 가공을 통하여 다수의 결과를 병렬적으로 도출하는 분산 프로그래밍 모델이다. 본 논문에서는 프로세스간에 필수적으로 요구되는 유입데이터 버퍼 관리에 초점을 두고 있다. 데이터의 유입률에 따라 동적으로 분석 프로세스를 확장시킴으로서 프로세스간 버퍼의 크기를 제어하는 기법을 제안하며 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능 분석을 하였다.

Development of Real-Time Scheduling System for OHT Mission Planning (OHT 작업 계획을 위한 실시간 스케줄링 시스템 개발)

  • For smart manufacturing, most semiconductor sites utilize automated material handling systems(AMHS). As one of the AMHSs, the OHT control system(OCS) manages overhead hoist transports(OHT) that move along rails installed on the ceiling. This paper proposes a real-time scheduling system to efficiently allocate and control the OHTs in semiconductor logistics processes. The proposed system, as an independent subsystem within the OCS, is interconnected with the main subsystem of the OCS, so that it can be easily modified without the effect of other systems. To develop the system, we first identify the functional requirements of the semiconductor logistics process and classify several types of control scenarios of the OHTs. Next, based on SEMI(Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) standard, we design sequence diagrams and interface messages between the subsystems. The developed system is interoperated with the OCS main subsystem and the database in real time and performs two major roles: 1) OHT dispatching and 2) pathfinding. Six integrated tests were carried out to verify the functions of the developed system. The system was normally operated on six basic scenarios and two exception scenarios and we proved that it is suitable for the mission planning of the OHTs.

  • In the ship building industry various problems of erection is counterfeited due to formation of bottle necks in the block erection flow pattern This kind of problems cause accumulated problems in real-time erection right on the floor, When such a problem is approached, a support data of the entire erection sequence should be available, Here planning is done by reasoning about the future events in order to verify the existence of a reasonable series of actions to accomplish a goal. This technique helps in achieving benefits like handling search complications, in resolving goal conflicts and anticipation of bottleneck formation well in advance to take necessary countermeasures and boosts the decision support system, The data is being evaluated and an anticipatory function is to be developed This function is quite relevant in day to day planning operation. The system updates database with rearrangement of off-critical blocks in the erection sequence diagram, As a result of such a system, planners can foresee months ahead and can effectively make decisions regarding the control of loads on the man, machine and work flow pattern, culminating to an efficient load management. Such a foreseeing concept helps us in eliminating backtracking related adjustment which is less efficient compared to the look-ahead concept. An attempt is made to develop a computer program to update the database of block arrangement pattern based on heuristic formulation.

  • Many studies on bus scheduling optimization have been done from the 1960s to recent years for establishing rational bus schedule plan that can improve convenience of bus passengers and minimize unnecessary runs. After 2000, as part of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), the importance of the schedule management and providing schedule information through bus schedule optimization has become a big issue, and much research is being done to develop optimization models that will increase bus passenger convenience and, on the side of bus management, minimize unnecessary bus operation. The purpose of this study is to calculate the optimal bus frequency and create a timetable for each bus stop by applying DTR or DTRC model that use data for each bus stop and route segment. Model verification process was implemented using data collected from bus management system (BMS) and integrated transit-fare card system for bus route of Seoul's No. 472 line. In order to evaluate the reliability and uncertainty of optimal solution, sensitivity analysis was implemented for the various parameters and assumptions used in the bus scheduling model.

  • It is possible to prevent deadlock if the priority which is conventionally given to transactions is endowed to data items and the transactions with the highest priority among transactions accessing the data item is allowed to proceed. Based on this observation, we proposed a Data-Priority Based Locking Protocol(DPLP) and evaluated its performance against known locking protocols in Real Time Database Management System(RTDBMS). Transaction inter-arrival time(IAT) was varied to determine success ratio, average-lateness, confict ratio and restart ratio, In these simulations we verified that the proposed DPLP performs better than the other protocols.

Real-Time Job Scheduling Strategy for Grid Computing (그리드 컴퓨팅을 위한 실시간 작업 스케줄링 정책)

  • In this paper, we propose a scheduling strategy for grid environment that reduces resource cost. This strategy considers resource cost and job failure rate to efficiently allocate local computing resources. The key idea of our strategy is that we use two-level scheduling using remote and local scheduler. The remote scheduler determines the expected total execution times of jobs using the current network and local system status maintained in its resource database and allocates jobs with minimum total execution time to local systems. The local scheduler recalculates the waiting time and execution time of allocated job and uses it to determine whether the job can be processed within the specified deadline. If it cannot finish in time, the job is migrated other local systems, through simulation, we show that it is more effective to reduce the resource cost than the previous Greedy strategy. We also show that the proposed strategy improves the performance compared to previous Greedy strategy.

  • An efficient real-time implementation of digital filtering algorithms using a multiprocessor system in a ring network is investigated. The development time and cost for implementing a high speed signal processing system can be considerably reduced because algorithm are implemented in software using commercially available digital signal processors. This method is based on a parallel block processing approach, where a continuously supplied input data is divided into blocks, and the blocks are processed concurrently by being assigned to each processor in the system. This approach not only requires a simple interconnection network but also reduces the number of communications among the processors very much. The data dependency of the blocks to be processed concurrently brings on dependency problems between the processors in the system. A systematic scheduling method has been developed by using a processors which can be used efficiently, the methods for solving dependency problems between the processors are investigated. Implementation procedures and results for FIR, recursive (IIR), and adaptive filtering algorithms are illustrated.

  • MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) is a main payload of KOMPSAT(Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite)-II which will be launched in 2004. MSC will perform his mission with the GSD(Ground Sample Distance) of 1m, swath width of 15km and spectral range of 450nm~900nm at the altitude of 685km. MSC consists of three main subsystems. One is EOS(Electro-Optics Subsystem), another is PMU(Payload Management Unit) and the other is PDTS(Payload Data Transmission Subsystem). There is an SBC(Single Board Computer) in the PW to control all the other units and SBC software performs the interface with spacecraft and control all MSC sub-units. SBC software consists of a lot of tasks and manages them with the time criticalness. All tasks are designed to be scheduled and executed at the predetermined time in order to make sure that the mission of MSC system is achieved successfully. In this paper, the real-time task scheduling of the SBC software will be described and analyzed.

  • Roadway construction planning processes involve a large amount of information on design, construction methods, quantities, unit costs, and production rates. GIS (Geographic Information System) is a strong tool for integration and managing various types of information such as spatial and non-spatial data required for roadway construction planning. This paper proposes a GIS-based system for improving roadway construction planning with its 'Spatial Analysis' and 'Visualization' functions. The proposed system cail help construction planner make a proper decision in a unique way by integrating design information and construction information within the system and creating design element modules for space scheduling purposes in real-time with its 'Interactive Planning' function.

Production Scheduling for a Two-machine Flow Shop with a Batch Processing Machine (배치처리기계를 포함하는 두 단계 흐름생산라인의 일정계획)

  • This paper deals with a scheduling problem for two-machine flow shop, in which the preceding machine is a batch processing machine that can process a number of jobs simultaneously. To minimize makespan of the system, we present a mixed integer linear programming formulation for the problem, and using this formulation, it is shown that an optimal solution for small problem can be obtained by a commercial optimization software. However, since the problem is NP-hard and the size of a real problem is very large, we propose a number of heuristic algorithms including genetic algorithm to solve practical big-sized problems in a reasonable computational time. To verify performances of the algorithms, we compare them with lower bound for the problem. From the results of these computational experiments, some of the heuristic algorithms show very good performances for the problem.
