The Development of a remote monitoring and control system for a Fire Protection of Chemical Factory (화학공장의 소방안전을 위한 원격감시 제어시스템 개발)

  • At this study, we are developing a possible control system through remote monitoring for fire protection in various chemical factory facilities. It's possible to do real time confirmation of a normal operation presence of the various equipment installed in a chemical factory through the internet network at a fire fighting head office, an area fire department and a chemical factory situation room using this remote monitoring control system. When occurring, abnormal operation is the remote monitoring control system, which can check this immediately and notify the situation room administrator. After it was tested using developed remote monitoring control system, the remote monitoring for which the internet network was used confirmed possible.

  • Noise generated from Construction site has been raised most civil complaints to 64.4 % among the environmental pollution in 2011. Therefore, local government recommends and prescribes that construction sites over a certain scale install sound level meter for noise monitoring. For example, Seoul has implemented a 24 hour noise monitoring system, with real time communication, to the large construction sites more than 10,000 $m^2$ from the end of August 2012. But it is difficult to use noise measurement data for the construction noise assessment, since the installation standards and technical specifications for construction noise monitoring system are not presented. In this paper, we proposed noise monitoring system improvement plan including technical specifications and installation standards using the investigating results of the problems of current noise monitoring system and the foreign cases.

  • This is the story of a bell-tower and its monitoring. The Civic Tower in Portogruaro is a 59 m high masonry bell-tower, originally built in the XIII century, today leaning more than a meter out of plumb. Since 2003, the building inclination has been continuously monitored with an optical inclinometer in an effort to see whether the tilt is still in progress. When the monitoring started, it was thought highly unlikely that the Tower would tilt further. After three years of monitoring and historical investigation, this idea was completely overturned. We show here how the initial view developed to a final awareness via a probabilistic analysis of the information acquired, based on Bayesian logic. We illustrate how the joint use of instrumental monitoring and historical documentation allowed timely recognition of signs of ongoing tilting and accurate calculation not only of the mean inclination trend, but also the credibility of this information.

  • In recent years, owing to the irregular weather changes in the sailing vessels are needed for marine meteorological environmental counter measures. Marine meteorological monitoring system, information about these marine weather environments in real time around the coast by collecting a provides real time shipping and marine transportation safety is a system for. .. Long marine facilities marine observation sensors cover the routes developed by installing marine meteorological monitoring system, build management, and vessel safety is giving much help to navigate. The further development of the marine meteorological monitoring system analyzes the situation both at home and abroad, in order to study the safety of the vessel in navigable and marine accidents because the prevention and optimal marine meteorological monitoring system regarding the future development plan for discussion.

  • In this paper, we implemented a real-time remote home monitoring system which we have ported the Linux OS and HTTP(Hypertext Transfer Protocol) web server. The GoAhead web server was ported using by ARM cross compiler. And then we used the analog to digital converter ADC0809 for sensing the vii able input signal at widely separated home. We have implemented linux device driver for ADC(Analog to Digital Convertor) and CGI-C(Common Gateway Interface - C language) application program using Client pull method for monitoring real-time changing data. The factor of monitoring is temperature, intensity of illumination and gas's existence. And this system has ability which check the status of out door and gas valve. We have designed the embedded web server system for home emergency monitoring in low cost.

  • To realize the U-healthcare system, the mobile patient monitoring system is of the essence. In this monitoring system, a patient's real-time data on biometrics and location must be transferred to predeterminate destination server ceaselessly. As the number of mobile patients increases steadily or mobile patients are moving into some specific area, the load balancing solution to real-time data congestion problem is needed. In this paper, we propose a new mobile patient monitoring system with Torus topology where three layers are connected hierarchically and the intermediate layer takes charge of priority-based load balancing. For the formalized design and verification of proposed system, we describe the overall structure with connectivity among its components and implement major components in pseudo-code by adopting a system specification-based approach. This approach makes the design and verification of our mobile patient monitoring system more flexible and accurate.

  • In korea, TIT(Transport Information Technology) based IP-TV services have been provided in Saemaeul trains and some sections of subway trains, But the software systems for the service performed in alternated fashions and suffered from many problems such as suspension, memory leaking and overflow, These problems increased playback loss time and resulted in bad reliabilities, In this paper, a software TIT monitor is designed and implemented for Monitoring module and Reset module in physically poor environments, The designed system formalized monitoring time intervals for effective monitoring, Through the real experiments, playback time is improved in 7.2% comparing to existing system.

  • This paper addresses the problem of monitoring continuous k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) queries. Given a set of moving (or static) objects and a set of moving (or static) query points, monitoring continuous k-NN query retrieves and updates the closest k objects to a query point continually. In order to support location based services (LBSs) in highly dynamic environments, where objects and/or queries are frequently moving, monitoring continuous queries require real-time updated results when objects and/or queries change their locations. Thus, it is important to minimize time delay for maintaining up to date the results. In this paper, we present monitoring method to shorten time delay for updating continuous k-NN queries based on the notion of result region and the minimum bounding rectangle enclosing all objects in each cell, referred to as c-MBR, in the grid index structure. Simulations are conducted to show the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • This study suggests a model of production information system that can reduce manufacturing lead time and uniformize quality by using DNC S/W as a part of constructing production information management system in the industrial field of the existing marine engine block manufacturing companies. Under the effect of development of this system, the NC machine interface device can be installed in the control computer to obtain the quality information of the workpiece in real time so that the time to inspect the process quality and verify the product defect information can be reduced by more than 70%. In addition, the reliability of quality information has been improved and the external credibility has been improved. It took 30 minutes for operator to obtain, analyze and manage the quality information when the existing USB memory is used, but the communication between the NC controller computer and the NC controller in real time was completed to analyze the workpiece within 10 seconds.

  • The safety of station structures among railway infrastructures should be considered as a top priority because hundreds of thousands passengers a day take a subway. The station structures, which have been being operated since the 1970s, are especially vulnerable to the earthquake and long-term vibrations such as ambient train vibrations as well. This is why the structural-health monitoring system of station structures should be required. For these reason, Korean government has made an effort to develop the structural health-monitoring system of them, which can evaluate the health-state of station structures as well as can monitor the vulnerable structural members in real-time. Then, through the monitoring system, the vulnerable structural members could be retrofitted. For the development of health-state evaluation method for station structures with the real-time sensing data measured in the fields, authors carried out the numerical simulations to develop evaluation algorithms based on statistical pattern recognition techniques. In this study, the dynamic behavior of Chungmuro station in Seoul was numerically analyzed and then critical members were chosen. Damages were artificially simulated at the selected critical members of the numerical model. And, the supervised and unsupervised learning based pattern recognition algorithms were applied to quantify and localize the structural defects.
