In this paper, we consider Bayesian approaches to partially linear models, in which a regression function is represented by a semiparametric additive form of a parametric linear regression function and a nonparametric regression function. We make a comparative study on the performance of widely used Bayesian partially linear models in terms of empirical analysis. Specifically, we deal with three Bayesian methods to estimate the nonparametric regression function, one method using Fourier series representation, the other method based on Gaussian process regression approach, and the third method based on the smoothness of the function and differencing. We compare the numerical performance of three methods by the root mean squared error(RMSE). For empirical analysis, we consider synthetic data with simulation studies and real data application by fitting each of them with three Bayesian methods and comparing the RMSEs.
Objectives: This study evaluated the effects of adhesion variables such as the priming concepts of canal wall and the curing modes of adhesives on the sealing ability of a resin-based root canal filling system. Materials and Methods: Apical microleakage of the Resilon-RealSeal systems filled with 3 different combinations of adhesion variables was compared with the conventional gutta-percha filling using a dye penetration method. Experimental groups were SEDC, Resilon (Resilon Research LLC) filling with self-etch RealSeal (SybronEndo) primer and dual-cure RealSeal sealer; NELC, Resilon filling with no etching, Scotchbond Multi-Purpose (3M ESPE) primer application and light-curing adhesive; and TELC, Resilon filling with Scotchbond Multi-Purpose primer and adhesive used under total etch / wet bonding and lightcure protocols. GPCS, gutta-percha filling with conventional AH26 plus sealer, was the control group. Results: The median longitudinal dye penetration length of TELC was significantly shorter than those of GPCS and SEDC (Kruskal-Wallis test, p < 0.05). In the cross-sectional microleakage scores, TELC showed significant differences from other groups at 2 to 5 mm from the apical foramen (Kruskal-Wallis test, p < 0.05). Conclusions: When a resin-based root canal filling material was used, compared to the self-etching primer and the dual-cure sealer, the total etch/wet-bonding with primer and light-curing of adhesive showed improved apical sealing and was highly recommended.
The Angelica root has been used as a medicinal herb in many Asian countries including Korea, China, and Japan. Angelica gigas, A. sinensis, and A. acutiloba have been considered as Angelicae radix in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Pharmacopoeia, respectively. Since the origins of Angelicae radix differ from country to country, there is a need to develop an efficient analytical method to identify the origin of the Angelica root. In order to obtain chemical fingerprints, three different Angelicae Radices were analyzed by direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS). Significantly different DART-MS spectra were observed from three different species of Angelicae Radix. Strong peaks of decursin or decusinol angelate, and its dimer were exclusively found from A. gigas. Ligustilide and linoleic acid were detected as the major component from A. acutiloba. The strongest ligustilide peak was observed from A. sinensis. DART-MS fingerprinting is a promising method for the rapid identification and/or quality control of Angelicae Radix.
TRIZ was developed and refined in the Soviet Union between 1946 and 1985 by Genrich Altshuller. Its primary application has been for solving inventive problems in the areas of engineering. But, recently the elements of TRIZ began to be applied non-technical areas by Darrell Mann. TRIZ theroy was brought into South Korea in 1995 and it is used by the LG, SAMSUNG, POSCO. TRIZ is simply not the tool for technical problem solving, covering many areas of comprehensive approach is being recognized. TRIZ is a methodology for defining problem, finding root cause through RCA(Root cause analysis), defining technical contradiction and physical contradiction. TRIZ overcomes contradiction and purses problem solving method through innovation. TRIZ is a problem solving method in this study using the principles of non-technical fields applied to the improvement of the logistics area study. The method to overcome contradiction is 40 principles. It is possible to generate idea by using 40 principles. This study was applied to logistics field of non-technical area by using TRIZ principle.
In the traditional buffeting response analysis method, the spanwise incomplete correlation of buffeting forces is always assumed to be same as that of the incident wind turbulence and the action of the signature turbulence is ignored. In this paper, three typical bridge decks usually adopted in the real bridge engineering, a single flat box deck, a central slotted box deck and a two-separated paralleled box deck, were employed as the investigated objects. The wind induced pressure on these bridge decks were measured via a series of wind tunnel pressure tests of the sectional models. The influences of the wind speed in the tests, the angle of attack, the turbulence intensity and the characteristic distance were taken into account and discussed. The spanwise root coherence of buffeting forces was also compared with that of the incidence turbulence. The signature turbulence effect on the spanwise root coherence function was decomposed and explained by a new empirical method with a double-variable model. Finally, the formula of a sum of rational fractions that accounted for the signature turbulence effect was proposed in order to fit the results of the spanwise root coherence function. The results show that, the spanwise root coherence of the drag force agrees with that of incidence turbulence in some range of the reduced frequency but disagree in the mostly reduced frequency. The spanwise root coherence of the lift force and the torsional moment is much larger than that of the incidence turbulence. The influences of the wind speed and the angle of attack are slight, and they can be ignored in the wind tunnel test. The spanwise coherence function often involves several narrow peaks due to the signature turbulence effect in the high reduced frequency zone. The spanwise coherence function is related to the spanwise separation distance and the spanwise integral length scales, and the signature turbulence effect is related to the deck-width-related reduced frequency.
As a semantic data is widely used in various applications such as Knowledge Bases and Semantic Web, needs for effective search over a large amount of RDF data have been increasing. Previous keyword search methods based on distinct root semantics only retrieve a set of answer trees having different root nodes. Thus, they often find answer trees with similar meanings or low query relevance together while those with the same root node cannot be retrieved together even if they have different meanings and high query relevance. We propose a new method to find diverse and relevant answers to the query by permitting duplication of root nodes among them. We present an efficient query processing algorithm using path indexes to find top-k answers given a maximum amount of root duplication a set of answer trees can have. We show by experiments using a real dataset that the proposed approach can produce effective answer trees which are less redundant in their content nodes and more relevant to the query than the previous method.

The objective of this study was to develop a real-time soil moisture meter using RF impedance. The impedance suchas capacitance and resistance (or conductance) was analyzed using parallel cylinder type capacitance probe(C-probe) and Q-meter (HP4342). The capacitance and conductance of soil increased as volumetric water content increased. The 5 MHz of modified Colpitts type crystal oscillator was designed to detect the capacitance change of the C-probe with moist soil. A third order polynomial regression model was proposed to describe the relationship between RF impedance and volumetric water content. The prototype real time moisture meter consisted of the C-probe, sample container, oscillator, frequency counter and related signal processing units. The calibration equation for measurement of volumetric moisture content of soil was developed and validated. The correlation coefficient and root mean square error between measured volumetric water content by oven method and predicted values by prototype moisture meter for unknown soil samples were 0.984 and 0.032$cm^3$$cm\^3$, respectively.

Objective: This study evaluated the feasibility of ultrasound-guided lumbar nerve root block (LNRB) and S1 nerve root block by identifying spread patterns via fluoroscopy in cadavers. Method: A total of 48 ultrasound-guided injections were performed in 4 fresh cadavers from L1 to S1 roots. The target point of LNRB was the midpoint between the lower border of the transverse process and the facet joint at each level. The target point of S1 nerve root block was the S1 foramen, which can be visualized between the median sacral crest and the posterior superior iliac spine, below the L5-S1 facet joint. The injection was performed via an in-plane approach under real-time axial view ultrasound guidance. Fluoroscopic validation was performed after the injection of 2 cc of contrast agent. Results: The needle placements were correct in all injections. Fluoroscopy confirmed an intra-foraminal contrast spreading pattern following 41 of the 48 injections (85.4%). The other 7 injections (14.6%) yielded typical neurograms, but also resulted in extra-foraminal patterns that occurred evenly in each nerve root, including S1. Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided injection may be an option for the delivery of injectate into the S1 nerve root, as well as lumbar nerve root area.

This paper presents the real-time implemented distance relay algorithm which the fault distance is estimated with only local terminal information. When a single-phase-to-earth fault on a two-parallel transmission line occurs, the reach accuracy of distance relay is considerably affected by the unknown variables which are fault resistance, fault current at the fault point and zero- sequence current of sound line The zero-sequence current of sound line is estimated by using the zero sequence voltage which is measured by relaying location Also. the fault resistance is removed at the Process of numerical formula expansion. Lastly, the fault current through a fault point is expressed as a function of the zero-sequence current of fault line, zero-sequence current of sound line, and line, and fault distance. Therefore, the fault phase voltage can be expressed as the quadratic equation of the fault distance. The solution of this Quadratic equation is obtained by using a coefficient of the modified quadratic equation instead of using the square root solution method. After tile accurate fault distance is estimated. the mote accurate impedance is measured by using such an information.
Power allocation is a technique that evenly allocates samples for each stratum, although the overall efficiency of the allocation is less than that of optimal allocation, and it is often used as a square root proportional allocation in real survey. Also, considering the non-response that occurs in real survey, a larger sample size is used than that in the theoretical formula. In this study, in determining the sample size for each stratum, we study the new methods of allocating by adding information on the response rate per each stratum to power allocation method. The proposed allocation methods are compare with proportional, optimal, and square root proportional allocation in simulation. In addition, the comparison with the proportional and optimal allocation to which the response rate was added is examined through simulation. As a result, we examine the advantages and disadvantages of the allocation methods.
