9-Windows를 이용한 문제 해결 방안 (Applying 9-Windows to Problem Solving)

  • One common roadblock to innovation is the inability to define the problem that needs to be solved. Main contributors to this situation are the complexity of real field and the psychological inertia. 9-Windows can help break the complexity and the psychological inertia. In this article, we attempt to propose how to link resources to space and time framework through 9-Windows. Also, we propose how to use the 9-Windows to find multiple perspectives and explore solutions to a problem. This research is expected to be a vehicle to make an effective use of 9-Windows along with TRIZ, SIT, CT, FMEA and QFD.

  • Windows provides Directshow for efficient multimedia streaming processings such as multimedia capture, storage, display and etc. Presently, many motion picture codecs and audio codecs are made to be used in Directshow framework and Windows also supports many codecs (MPEG4, H,263, WMV, WMA, ASF, etc.) in addition to a lot of useful tools for multimedia streaming processing. Therefore, Directshow can be effectively utilized for developing windows-based multimedia streaming applications such as visual monitoring systems which needs to store real-time video data for later retrieval. In this paper, we present our efforts for developing a Directshow Filter System supporting storage of motion pictures in various motion picture codecs. Our Directshow Filter system also provides an additional functionality of motion detection.

Fast Matching Pursuit Method Using Property of Symmetry and Classification for Scalable Video Coding

  • Matching pursuit algorithm is a signal expansion technique whose efficiency for motion compensated residual image has already been demonstrated in the MPEG-4 framework. However, one of the practical concerns related to applying matching pursuit algorithm to real-time scalable video coding is its massive computation required for finding dictionary elements. In this respective, this paper proposes a fast algorithm, which is composed of three sub-methods. The first method utilizes the property of symmetry in 1-D dictionary element and the second uses mathematical elimination of inner product calculation in advance, and the last one uses frequency property of 2-D dictionary. Experimental results show that our algorithm needs about 30% computational load compared to the conventional fast algorithm using separable property of 2-D gabor dictionary with negligible quality degradation.

  • Conceptual Modeling is the process of abstracting a model from a real or proposed system. It is probably the most important aspect of a simulation study. Relate works show that the elementary developers devoted little time to understanding how the systems actually worked, namely they didn't build appropriate conceptual model. Thus, the result of simulation is inconsistent because it depends on developer's competence. Although many researchers suggested various techniques enabling developer to build conceptual model, there were several limitations. In this study, to overcome the limitations of existing techniques, we proposed COMBINE-DES (COnceptual Model BuildINg framEwork using ontology for Discrete Event Simulation). The COM-BINE-DES supports expediting the conceptual modeling with Solution ontology generated by Domain ontology and Simulation ontology. Moreover, it provides consistent simulation result regardless of repeated modeling.

  • This paper presents the description, practical implementation, and stability analysis of a recently proposed, energy-efficient, medium access control protocol for wireless sensor networks, ALOHA-Q, which employs a reinforcement-learning framework as an intelligent transmission strategy. The channel performance is evaluated through a simulation and experiments conducted using a real-world test-bed. The stability of the system against possible changes in the environment and changing channel conditions is studied with a discussion on the resilience level of the system. A Markov model is derived to represent the system behavior and estimate the time in which the system loses its operation. A novel scheme is also proposed to protect the lifetime of the system when the environment and channel conditions do not sufficiently maintain the system operation.

건전성예측 및 관리기술 연구동향 및 응용사례 (A review on prognostics and health management and its applications)

  • Objective of this paper is to introduce a new technology known as prognostics and health management (PHM) which enables a real-time life prediction for safety critical systems under extreme loading conditions. In the PHM, Bayesian framework is employed to account for uncertainties and probabilities arising in the overall process including condition monitoring, fault severity estimation and failure predictions. Three applications - aircraft fuselage crack, gearbox spall and battery capacity degradation are taken to illustrate the approach, in which the life is predicted and validated by end-of-life results. The PHM technology may allow new maintenance strategy that achieves higher degree of safety while reducing the cost in effective manner.

딥 러닝 기반의 이미지학습을 통한 저항 용접품질 검증 (Verification of Resistance Welding Quality Based on Deep Learning)

  • Welding is one of the most popular joining methods and most welding quality estimation methods are executed using joined material. This paper propose welding quality estimation methods using dynamic current, voltage and resistance which are obtained during welding in real time. There are many kinds of welding method. Among them, we focused on the projection welding and gathered dynamic characteristics from two different types of projection welding. For image learning, graphs are drawn using obtained current, voltage and resistance, and the graphs are converted to images. The images are labeled with two sub-categories - normal and defect. For deep learning of images obtained from welding, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is applied, and Tensorflow was used as a framework for deep learning. With two resistance welding test datasets, we conclude that the Convolutional Neural Network helps in predicting the welding quality.

  • Output performance improvement using fuzzy logic to the conventional control scheme for a magnetic levitation system is presented in this paper, Adverse characteristics of nonlinearity, unstability, system parameter variation, etc, in the levitation system are partially overcome by the general fuzzy control action. Using a PD type compensator, a coarse framework of output performance is provided to the levitation system. Then a fine regulation to the output performance requirement is obtained by the natural description of the control action in the form of fuzzy logic controller. This control action soothes the adverse characteristics of the levitation system. In this way a better output performance can be obtained in a real time experiment.

데이터 모델 재사용을 위한 사례기반추론 프레임워크 (Case-Based Reasoning Framework for Data Model Reuse)

  • A data model is a diagram that describes the properties of different categories of data and the associations among them within a business or information system. In spite of its importance and usefulness, data modeling activity requires not only a lot of time and effort but also extensive experience and expertise. The data models for similar business areas are analogous to one another. Therefore, it is reasonable to reuse the already-developed data models if the target business area is similar to what we have already analyzed before. In this research, we develop a case-based reasoning system for data model reuse, which we shall call CB-DM Reuser (Case-Based Data Model Reuser). CB-DM Reuse consists of four subsystems : the graphic user interface to interact with end user, the data model management system to build new data model, the case base to store the past data models, and the knowledge base to store data modeling and data model reusing knowledge. We present the functionality of CB-DM Reuser and show how it works on real-life a, pp.ication.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 운영체제(RTOS)를 모듈화 하기 위하여 그래픽 기반의 Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) 프레임워크를 제시한다. 기존의 컴포넌트, 객체 지향 방법론, 그리고 최근의 AOP들은 RTOS와 같이 많은 기능들이 복잡하게 연관된 소프트웨어를 모듈화 하는 데는 적합하지 않았다. 본 논문의 새로운 AOP 프레임워크는 다음과 같은 특징을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 클래스나 메소드의 단위를 넘어서서 구현되는 기능들이 어떻게 aspect로 모듈화 되는지를 시각적으로 보여준다. 또한 기존의 AOP와 같이 여러 aspect들을 이리저리 옮겨 다닐 필요 없이 한 곳에서 코드가 어떤 순서로 수행될 지 알 수 있도록 해 준다. 둘째, 코드를 삽입할 위치를 지정하는 단위를 메소드 단위보다 더 세밀하게 하여 메소드의 수행 중간에 특정 aspect를 위한 코드를 삽입할 수 있도록 하였다. 그래서 하나의 메소드에 여러 aspect가 복잡하게 관여하는 경우가 많은 RTOS를 디자인 할 때 특히 유리하다.
