  • We propose new routing scheme, Cooperative Diversity-based Routing (CDR) which utilizes the cooperative space diversity for power saving and performance enhancement of wireless ad-hoc networks. The improved performance is compared with Multi-hop Relay Routing (NRR) by analytical methods. When the required outage probability is $1\times10^{-3}$ at the destination node in ad-hoc networks with 7 nodes, we noticed that each node can save power consumption by 15.5 dB in average, by using our proposed CDR compared to MRR.

  • This study proposed the composition of a new long-code MMSE detector using the pilot channel that demonstrated the most excellent performance under Rayleigh fading in the previous studies. It analyzed and explained how to maintain the stability of the weight vector(introduction to the course of radio waves) in the receiver. In the operation of the receiver system to remove radio interference, the signal vector distortion received in the channel where fading was present achieved good results by compensating for signal errors. When there was distortion, the response characteristics of the received signals were superior to the common matching filter according to the computer simulation. The long-code MMSE receiver proposed in the study was able to prolong the cycle by $16{\times}T_b$ in the fading environment to fulfill the satisfaction.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of the cooperative cognitive radio relay system which is adapted the recently highly focused cognitive radio system. The performance comparison is made between the system with and that without the opportunistic transmission relay. Especially the selection combining is considered at the destination for simple implementation. In this case, the effect of the channel state information (CSI) delay, which is caused essentially by the process during the CSI delivery, to the system performance is considered. It is noticed that the performance of the system with the opportunistic relay degrades up to 0.6 dB at a given condition compared to the system without the opportunistic relay. And it is shown that the system performance is more sensitive to the CSI delay compared to the frequency acquisition probability of the cognitive radio relay.

  • In this paper, simulations are performed using standards proposed by 3GPP and 3GPP2. From the view point of performance analysis based on Turbo code specification, performance of Turbo code in AWGN, proposed by 3GPP, is compared. To make comparison, experimental result of Turbo code that is performed on one of the many block sizes proposed by 3GPP2 in Rayleigh fading channel, is provided. Performance of Turbo decoders using Max_Log MAP and Log MAP are compared.

  • In this paper, we study the secrecy outage probability when using cooperative diversity and jammer in a relay system based on decode-and-forward. MRC method is used in receiver and eavesdroppers to obtain cooperative diversity. To use the MRC technique, direct links between the sender and receiver, and between the sender and the eavesdropper are used, respectively. Jammers are used to generate intentional noise siganls to increase security capacity. Jammers generate intentional noise, degrading the channel quality of the eavesdropper and helping physical layer security be realized. The secrecy outage probability is used to evaluate security performance. Assume that the system is under the Rayleigh fading channel.

  • Recently, for spectral efficiency and power saving, an incremental best relay selection of a cooperative diversity scheme is proposed. However during the best relay selection process, there may exist a delay between channel estimation and actual data transmission. Consequently, this delay causes outdated channel state information (CSI). We analytically derive the effect of the outdated CSI to an incremental best relay selection diversity scheme. It is noted that the system performance deteriorates with decreasing the value of the correlation coefficient sensitively. When the correlation coefficient reduces from 1 to 0.9, the most performance degradation is denoted. However, the performance degradation is diminished with decreasing the correlation coefficient.

  • Ultra Wide Band (UWB) system uses wide band signal, which power spectral density is over all band, It likes as a noise floor, so UWB system can be used without interfering with other communication system. For the first time, we adopted Rayleigh mono pulse antipodal signal which had symmetric characteristic and zero mean. With the power spectral density using stochastic process, we knew that the antipodal signaling scheme removed discrete spectrum and concluded that this had much better spectral suppression, probability of error and data rate than PPM (Pulse Positioning Modulation).

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose an improvement method of BER for coded 16QAM over Rayleigh fading channel. To overcome the BER degradation due to the fading under mobile communication, we apply trellis coded modulation technique which is efficient to get a coding gain without the expansion of bandwidth. Especially, to minimize the burst error which are the main factor of the BER degradation for mobile communication systems, we apply interleaving/deinterleaving method to the studying system. Also we apply asymmetric signal mapping methods to this TCM scheme. From the computer simulation, BER performance of asymmetric case has achieved about 1 dB improvement of about $10^{-4}$, compared to the traditional symmetric case.

  • The Effects of radiative heat transfer on turbulent flow in a partitioned enclosure is studied numerically. The enclosure is partially divided by a thin, poorly conducting vertical divider projecting from the ceiling of the enclosure. The low Reynolds number $k-{\epsilon}$ model is adopted to calculate the turbulent flow field. The solutions to the radiative transfer equations are obtained by the discrete ordinates method(DOM). This method is based on control volume method and is compatible with the SIMPLER algorithm used to solve the momentum and energy equations. The effects of optical thickness and Planck number on the flow, temperature fields and heat transfer rates are investigated for a moderate Rayleigh number($=10^9$). The changes in buoyant flow fields and temperature distributions due to the variation of baffle length are also analyzed. From the predictions, radiant heat exchange between the baffle and the sidewalls strongly influences the temperature distribution in the baffle and its vicinity and total heat transfer increases as the optical thickness and the baffle length decrease. It is possible to neglect the radiative heat transfer effect when Planck number is over one.

  • In this paper, we propose a relay-based DF cooperative communication scheme using repetitive transmission algorithm for wireless LAN environments on D-STBC. Additional transmission diversity gain can be obtained by repetitive transmission algorithm. However, in comparison with conventional schemes, data rate is decreased in half. We consider data modulation constellation twice higher than conventional schemes. Further, system complexity is decreased and performance degradation is minimized because repetitive transmission algorithm is adapted between source and relay node. We show the uncoded BER performance of the proposed algorithm over HiperLAN/2 Rayleigh fading channel.
