  • 본 논문에서는 레일리 페이딩 채널 모델하에서 평균데이터 전송률을 최대화 할 수 있는 목표 데이터 전송률을 분석하였다. 같은 무선채널환경에서 목표 데이터 전송률이 높아질수록 오류 없이 전송될 확률은 낮아진다. 반면, 목표 데이터 전송률이 낮아지면 오류 없이 전송될 확률은 높아지지만, 한번에 보내는 데이터 양이 작아지게 된다. 따라서, 주어진 무선 채널 환경을 최대로 활용하기 위해서는 오류 전송 확률과 목표 데이터 전송률을 고려하여 최대 평균 데이터 전송률을 얻기 위한 조건에 대한 분석이 선행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 평균 데이터 전송률을 정의하고, 이를 최대화하기 위한 목표 데이터 전송률을 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 몬테카를로 모의 시뮬레이션을 통하여 정확성을 증명하였다.

  • The receptance method was applied for the analysis of a cylindrical shell with a spherical cap attached at an arbitrary axial position of the shell. The boundary condition of the shell considered here was clamped-free condition. Before the analysis of the shell/spherical cap combined structure, natural frequencies of the cap and the shell were calculated separately and then they were used in the calculation of the frequencies of the combined structure by the receptance method.   • An iterative Kantorovich method is presented for the vibration analysis of rectangular isotopic and orthotropic thick plates. Mindlin plate characteristic functions are derived in general forms by the Kantorovich method initially starting with Timoshenko beam functions consistent with the boundary conditions of the plate. Through numerical calculations of natural pairs, i.e. natural frequencies and corresponding modes, and dynamic responses of appropriate models, it has been confirmed that the presented method is superior to the Rayleigh-Ritz analysis or the FEM analysis in accuracy and computational efficiency.

  • Multipath Rayleigh fading channels for mobile radio transmission can be represented by the linear filter model, and depending on the delay path characteristics, only a selected number of taps may have significance in the receiver structure design. By using tap-selective equalization, reduction in both processing complexity and power consumption can be obtained. In this paper, we present an optimal tap selection method for a given channel model, and demonstrate the performance improvement over an existing method. We show the method performs the CFAR (Constant False Alarm Rate) detection when the noise power information is available, and derive exact expressions of the error probability for the case of noise power estimation. Using the derived formulas and simulation results, it is demonstrated that the error probability quickly approaches to the optimal performance as the number samples used for the noise power estimation increases.

  • In narrowband communication systems operating in VHF and UHF bands, the performance degradation due to a frequency offset is inevitable. In this paper, we propose a frequency offset reduction scheme using the dual-band FSK modulation for narrowband communications. The proposed scheme not only offer a relatively reliable performance under a severe frequency offsets, but also can obtain a frequency diversity gain in Rayleigh fading channel.

  • In this paper, the dual mode error correcting adaptive decoding algorithm which is adapted to the continuous phase frequency shift keying(CPFSK) modulation is presented as a technique for overcoming the distortion that reveals from the Rayleigh fading channel. The dual mode adaptive decoder nominally operates as a Viterbi decoder and switches to the burst error correcting mode, whenever the decoder detects an uncorrectable burst error pattern. Under the fading channel environment and when the usable memory quantity is restricted, the dual mode adaptive decoding algorithm shows an advantage in the BER performance over the interleaving technique, and also obtains the merit of not needing the large time delay that the interleaving technique requires. The experimental results from the computer simulation demonstrate the performance of the algorithm and verify the theoretical results.

  • In this paper, a new practical coherent detection scheme for biorthogonal signals, which uses multi-symbol observation interval, is proposed and its performances are analyzed and simulated. The technique jointly estimates both the demondulated data and the channel from received signal only while reducing computation complexity by an approximate maximum-likelihood sequence estimation rather than symbol-by-symbol detection as in previous noncoherent detection. The scheme achieves performance close to that of ideal coherent detection with perfect channel estimates when select the appropriate observation symbol interval N in the given symbol alphabet wize M. What is particularly interesting is that the requeired average signal-to-noise ratio per bit ${\gamma}_{b}$ can be reducedd by as much as 1.4dB and the capacity can be increase by as much as 38% when we use this system in the CDMA cellular reverse link.

  • Ultra Wideband (UWB) system uses wide band signal, which power spectral density likes as a noise floor, so UWB system can be used high speed communication without interfering with other communication system. As this system doesn't use radio frequency carrier. Its structure would be very simple and consume very low power. For the first time, we adopted Rayleigh monopulse multiple access system. And under the AWGN, we analysis and compare error probability, the number of user and data rate of the two methods that pulse position modulation and antipodal. In the result, We concluded that the antipodal method had much better probability of error, the number of user and data rate than PPM.

Investigation of O4 Air Mass Factor Sensitivity to Aerosol Peak Height Using UV-VIS Hyperspectral Synthetic Radiance in Various Measurement Conditions (UV-VIS 초분광 위성센서 모의복사휘도를 활용한 다양한 관측환경에서의 에어로솔 유효고도에 대한 O4 대기질량인자 민감도 조사)

  • In this present study, the sensitivity of O4 Air Mass Factor (AMF) to Aerosol Peak Height (APH) has been investigated using radiative transfer model according to various parameters(wavelength (340 nm and 477 nm), aerosol type (smoke, dust, sulfate), aerosol optical depth (AOD), surface reflectance, solar zenith angle, and viewing zenith angle). In general, it was found that O4 AMF at 477 nm is more sensitive to APH than that at 340 nm and is stably retrieved with low spectral fitting error in Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) analysis. In high AOD condition, sensitivity of O4 AMF on APH tends to increase. O4 AMF at 340 nm decreased with increasing solar zenith angle. This dependency isthought to be induced by the decrease in length of the light path where O4 absorption occurs due to the shielding effect caused by Rayleigh and Mie scattering at high solar zenith angles above 40°. At 477 nm, as the solar zenith angle increased, multiple scattering caused by Rayleigh and Mie scattering partly leads to the increase of O4 AMF in nonlinear function. Based on synthetic radiance, APHs have been retrieved using O4 AMF. Additionally, the effect of AOD uncertainty on APH retrieval error has been investigated. Among three aerosol types, APH retrieval for sulfate type is found to have the largest APH retrieval error due to uncertainty of AOD. In the case of dust aerosol, it was found that the influence of AOD uncertainty is negligible. It indicates that aerosol types affect APH retrieval error since absorption scattering characteristics of each aerosol type are various.

Site Characterization using Shear-Wave Velocities Inverted from Rayleigh-Wave Dispersion in Chuncheon, Korea (레일리파 분산을 역산하여 구한 횡파속도를 이용한 춘천시의 부지특성)

  • To reveal and classify site characteristics in densely populated areas in Chuncheon, Korea, Rayleigh-waves were recorded at 50 sites including four sites in the forest area using four 1-Hz velocity sensors and 24 4.5-Hz vertical geophones during the period of January 2011 to May 2013. Dispersion curves of the Rayleigh waves obtained by the extended spatial autocorrelation method were inverted to derive shear-wave velocity ($v_s$) models comprising 40 horizontal layers of 1-m thickness. Depths to weathered rocks ($D_b$), shear wave velocities of these basement rocks ($v_s^b$), average velocities of the overburden layer ($\bar{v}_s^s$), and the average velocity to a depth of 30 m ($v_s30$), were then derived from those models. The estimated values of $D_b$, $v_s^b$, $\bar{v}_s^s$, and $v_s30$ for 46 sites at lower altitudes were in the ranges of 5 to 29 m, 404 to 561 m/s, 208 to 375 ms/s, and 226 to 583 m/s, respectively. According to the Korean building code for seismic design, the estimated $v_s30$ indicates that the lower altitude areas in Chuncheon are classified as $S_C$ (very dense soil and soft rock) or $S_D$ (stiff soil). To determine adequate proxies for $v_s30$, we compared the computed values with land cover, lithology, topographic slope, and surface elevation at each of the measurement sites. Due to a weak correlation (r = 0.41) between $v_s30$ and elevation, the best proxy of them, applications of this proxy to Chuncheon of a relatively small area seem to be limited.
