X-ray astronomy deals with measurements of the electromagnetic radiation in the energy range of $E\~0.1-100 keV (\lambda\~0.12-120{\AA})$. The wavelength of X-ray is comparable to the size of atoms, so that the photons in the X-ray range are usually produced and absorbed by the atomic processes. Since the launch of the first X-ray astronomy satellite 'Uhuru' in 1970, technological advances in a launch capability and a detection capability make X-ray astronomy one of the most rapidly evolving fields of astronomical research. Particularly, a spectral resolving power $E/{\Delta}E$ has been increased by an order of 2 - 3 (in the energy range of 0.1 - 10 keV) during the past 30years. In this paper, I briefly review a developing process of the resolving power and spectroscopic techniques. Then I describe important emission/absorption lines in X-ray astronomy, as well as diagnostics of gas property with line parameters.

An x-ray vision can be a unique method to monitor and analyze the motion of mechanical parts in real time which are invisible from outside. Our problem is to identify the pose, i.e. the position and orientation of an object from x-ray projection images. It is assumed here that the x-ray imaging conditions that include the relative coordinates of the x-ray source and the image plane are predetermined and the object geometry is known. In this situation, an x-ray image of an object at a given pose can be estimated computationally by using a priori known x-ray projection image model. It is based on the assumption that a pose of an object can be determined uniquely to a given x-ray projection image. Thus, once we have the numerical model of x-ray imaging process, x-ray image of the known object at any pose could be estimated ...
We have systematically investigated the X-ray spectra of normal galaxies, by using the Imaging Proportional Counter (IPC) data in the Einstein data base. We employed the X-ray color-color plot as well as the standard model fitting method which requires higher signal to noise ratio. We discuss X-ray emission mechanisms in terms of their spectral properties and the signature of cooling flows which are most likely present in X-ray bright early type galaxies. On the average, fits to absorbed thermal spectra show that the X-ray emission temperature of spirals is higher than that of ellipticals. This is consistent with our understanding that accreting binaries are a major X-ray source in spirals, while extended gaseous halos are present in ellipticals. The emission temperature becomes lower with increasing X-ray to optical luminosity ratio in E and S0 galaxies. This result is what we would expect if the emission of X-ray faint early type galaxies consists of a large evolved stellar component, while the gaseous emission becomes dominant in X-ray brighter galaxies. We also find a cool, self-absorbed core in some early type galaxies, which directly indicates the presence of cooling flows in such galaxies.
Optimum characteristics of digital X-ray sensor components were analyzed to develop intra- oral dental digital X-ray image sensor using indirect method. Parametric analysis was carried out to optimize the phosphor thickness and the fiber optic plate (FOP) coupling to charge coupled device (CCD). X-ray absorption and light diffusion in the phosphor layer were analyzed by the Monte Carlo method. Real time X-ray image was obtained with prototype X- ray image sensor using general CCD camera with 1∼10 Ip/mm resolution. It has been previously shown that large resolution degradation in X-ray images was caused by miss alignment of FOP to CCD and optical adhesive selection. In this study, we reported that X-ray image quality was greatly improved by using optimized characteristics of alignment device and phosphor thickness.
This study investigated the reduction of microbial population and sensory properties in red pepper powders irradiated by gamma ray, electron beam, and X-ray. Populations of total aerobic bacteria and yeast & molds in red pepper powders were decreased by irradiation treatment in a dose-dependent manner. Gamma ray, electron beam, and X-ray at doses above 8 kGy caused 100% inhibition on growth of aerobic bacteria in red pepper powders. Inhibitory activity of X-ray on sterilization of red pepper powders was significantly equal to or higher compared to gamma ray and electron beam. Color and off flavor in red pepper powders were no significant difference among the control and samples irradiated with gamma ray, electron beam, and X-ray. As a result, the gamma ray, electron beam, and X-ray irradiation can be used to sterilize the microbial growth in red pepper powders without quality loss.

In this paper, a FlexRay module and gateway is developed for high speed in-vehicle network. Speed of FlexRay is 10 times higher than that of CAN. In this paper, FlexRay module is implemented using MC9S12XF512 micro-controller and gateway converting CAN message to FlexRay message.
X-ray detection has widely been applied in medical diagnostics, security screening, nondestructive testing in the industry, etc. Medical X-ray imaging procedures require digital flat detectors operating with low doses to reduce radiation health risks. Recently, metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have shown great potential in high-performance X-ray detection because of their attractive properties, such as strong X-ray absorption, high mobility-lifetime product, tunable bandgap, low-temperature fabrication, near-unity photoluminescence quantum yields, and fast photoresponse. In this paper, we review and introduce the development status of new perovskite X-ray detectors and imaging, which have emerged as a new promising high-sensitivity X-ray detection technology. We discuss the latest progress and future perspective of MHP-based X-ray detection in medical imaging. Finally, we compare the conventional detection methods with quantum-enhanced detection, pointing out the challenges and perspectives for future research directions toward perovskite-based X-ray applications.

In this paper, authentication technologies for X-ray inspection images in container merchandises are introduced and a method of authentication for X-ray inspection images is proposed. Until now, X-ray images of container merchandises have been managed without any authentication of inspection results and environments, it means that there was no any action for protection of illegal copy and counterfeiting of X-ray images from inspection results. Here, authentication identifies that who did inspect container X-ray images and, whether the container X-ray images were counterfeited or not. Our proposed algorithm indicates to put important information about X-ray inspection results on an X-ray image without affecting quality of the original image. Therefore, this paper will be useful in determining an appropriate technology and system specification for authentication of X-ray inspection images. As a result of experiment, we find that the information can be embedded to X-ray image without large degradation of image quality. Our proposed algorithm has high detection ratio by Quality 20 of JPEG attack.

As the demands for the safety and convenience applications of the vehicles increase, the data load for the In-vehicle Network has increased significantly. As a result, a deterministic and fault-tolerant communication system is required to implement the safety critical applications such as X-by-wire systems. FlexRay communication system is a new standard of network communication system which provides the high speed serial communication, time triggered bus and fault tolerant communication between electronic devices. In addition to time-triggered communication, as providing of the event-triggered communication such as CAN, FlexRay protocol is able to manage the restricted communication resource more effectively. This paper presents the development of FlexRay driver which will be applied to the future ECU's communication system. To develop the FlexRay driver, the FlexRay requirement specification and FlexRay specification is analyzed. The developed FlexRay driver is implemented by using MPC5567 microprocessor of the Freescale semiconductor. To verify the developed FlexRay driver, the waveform of the FlexRay driver was measured and compared with the CAN communication system. As a result, the bus load is reduced about 13% compared with the CAN communication system.

This experimental study was carried out to investigate the immunostimulating effect of Acanthopanax, as Oriental rhizomata herbs, on jejunal survival, endogenous spleen colony formation, apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells and lipid peroxidation in the liver of mice following Gamma-ray irradiation. The subject of this study includes 72 mice which were divided into each 7 groups. Acanthopanax experiment groups were Acanthopanax. Gamma-ray(lOGy), Acanthopanax. Gamma-ray(3Gy), Acanthopnax. Gamma-ray(1Gy), Gamma-ray control(1OGy), Gamma-ray control(3Gy), Gamma-ray control(1Gy), Normal groups. The results of this study were as follows : Treatment with Acanthopanax showed significantly increased(p<0.05) on the cell death apoptosis in crypt, intestine crypts survival of intestine in mice following low-dose(1Gy) Gamma-ray radiation. And that significantly increased(p<0.05) on jejunal crypt survival and reduced(p<0.05) on lipid peroxidation in mice following high-dose(1OGy) Gamma-ray radiation. The above results suggest that Acathopanax were immunostimulating effectively reduced Gamma-ray irradiation.
