Effect of Phytate on the Solubility and Digestibility of Rapeseed Protein Isolate (분리 유채단백의 용해도와 소화율에 미치는 Phytate의 영향)

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the effects of added phytate and pH on the solubility and in vitro digestibility of low-phytate rapeseed protein isolate. Phytate content of low-phytate rapeseed protein isolate was 1.5%, as a result of 66% removal from defatted rapeseed flour and the protein: phytate ratio was 58:1. Solubility of rapeseed protein isolate at pH 2.0 and pH 11.5 was much higher than near the isoelectric point, pH 5.0. It's solubility was lowered by adding an increased amount of phytate especially at pH 2.0. The inhibitory effect of phytate toward pepsin digestibility of rapeseed protein isolate decreased by the increasing amount of phytate added. It is suggested that the production of low-phytate rapeseed protein isolate is necessary to improve the functionality and nutritional value in order to utilize it as food material.

  • Images using X-rays are essential to diagnosis, but noise is inevitable in the image. To compensate for this, a total variation (TV) algorithm was presented to reduce the patient's exposure dose while increasing the quality of the images. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect on the image quality in radiographic imaging according to the thickness of the additional filtration plate through simulation, and to evaluate the usefulness of the TV algorithm. By using the Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emissions (GATE) simulation image, the actual size, shape and material of the Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) phantom were identical, the contrast to noise ratio (CNR) and coefficient of variation (COV) were compared. The results showed that the CNR value was the highest and the COV the lowest when applying the TV algorithm. In addition, we can acquire superior CNR and COV results with 0 mm Al in all algorithm cases.

Effect of benzothiazole additives and properties of copper foils on high current density (고전류밀도에서의 Benzothiazole 첨가제의 동박 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The electroplating for copper foils has many advantages in economics. During the electroplating, the selection of appropriate additives is needed to manufacture copper foils with various properties. Therefore, it is investigated the initial plating voltage and the properties of copper foil electroplated in the electrolyte with benzothiazole as additives. The addition of benzothiazole without any additives decreased effectively the initial plating voltage. However, the initial voltage increased when the additives was used in combination with an inhibitor and a leveler along with benzothiazole. Moreover, the voltage tends to increase with the concentration of benzothiazole except for 40 ppm group. The mixed additives could change not only the initial voltage but also the morphology of crystals on the surface. When benzothiazole is added at 20 ppm or less, it was observed that the clustered crystals existed on the surface, which result in ununiform surface and high roughness value. In addition, the grain size increased with the amount of benzothiazole, but the resistivity decreased. However, when the leveler was added in 20 ppm, the grain size was decreased with the amount of benzothiazole. The size of the crystals could be influenced by the mixing ratio of additives. Therefore, it is necessary to study on the effect of concentration ratio of additives in the future.

Preparation of Water-Repellent Coating Solutions from Tetraethoxysilane and Methyltriethoxysilane by Sol-Gel Method (졸-겔법에 의해 Tetraethoxysilane과 Methyltrimethoxysilane으로부터 발수코팅제 제조)

  • Water-repellent coating solutions were prepared by sol-gel method using tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) as precursors. The solutions were spin-coated on a cold-rolled steel sheet and thermally cured to prepare a non-fluorine water-repellent coating films. The effects of molar ratios of MTMS/TEOS, water concentration and ammonia concentration on the hydrophobic properties of the coating films were studied. The contact angle of water on coating films prepared by varying the molar ratio of MTMS/TEOS to 1~20 showed a maximum value of $108^{\circ}$ when the MTMS/TEOS molar ratio was 10. With increasing water content, the coating films showed the larger contact angles and the better the water repellency. As the amount of ammonia added was increased, the contact angles of coating films were increased, showing the better the water repellency. It is considered that the larger the amount of ammonia added, the larger the size of the silica particles generated, which increases the surface roughness of the silica particles, thereby increasing the water repellency.

Effects of Ground, Concentrated, and Powdered Beef on the Quality of Noodle Products

  • The aim of this study was to ascertain the effects of beef on the quality characteristics, such as color, texture profile, water absorption ratio, volume, turbidity, and sensory evaluation, of noodle products. Various types of beef were added to the flour at a mixture ratio of ground beef (BG) 10, 15, 20, 25%; concentrated beef (BC) 9, 11, 13, 15%; and powdered beef (BP) 1, 3, 5, 7%. Each treatment was analyzed and compared with a 100% flour noodle as a control. With increasing BG, BC, and BP ratios, the L and b values for color decreased, while the a value increased, from that in the control. The hardness of the noodles treated with BG increased with increasing mixture ratios, but hardness decreased in the BC and BP treatments with increasing mixture ratios (p<0.05). The noodles with the largest beef composition in the mixtures of each treatment exhibited the highest turbidity scores, which was believed to be because the solid contents would be transferred to the soup during heating. In the sensory evaluation of cooked noodles, the BG 10%, BC 9%, and BP 1% treatments exhibited the best color. In an overall preference test, 20% of BG and 3% of BP could be added to the noodles. The best palatability was exhibited by the BG 10%, BC 13%, and BP 3% treatments.

Development of Integrated System of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing(TDABC) Using Balanced Scorecard(BSC) and Economic Value Added(EVA) (BSC와 EVA를 이용한 TDABC 통합시스템의 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to implement and develop the integrated Economic Value Added (EVA) and Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) model to seek both improvement of Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Tax (NOPLAT) and reduction of Capital Charge (CC). Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Tax (NOPLAT) can be maximized by reducing the indirect cost of an unused resource capacity increased by Cost Capacity Ratio (CCR) of TDABC. On the other hand, Capital Charge (CC) can be minimized by improving the efficiency of Invested Capital (IC) considered by Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) of EVA. In addition, the integrated system of TDABC using Balance Scorecard (BSC) and EVA is developed by linking between the lagging indicators and the three leading indicators. The three leading indicators include customer, internal process and growth and learning perspectives whereas the lagging indicator includes NOPLAT and CC in terms of financial perspective. When the Critical Success Factor (CSF) of BSC is cascading as a cause and an effect relationship, time driver of TDABC and capital driver of EVA can be used efficiently as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of BSC. For a better understanding of the proposed EVA/TDABC model and BSC/EVA/TDABC model, numerical examples are derived from this paper. From the proposed model, the time driver of TDABC and the capital driver of EVA are known to lessen indirect cost from comprehensive income statement when increasing the efficiency of operating IC from the statement of financial position with unified KPI cascading of aligned BSC CSFs.

Study of Fermentation Extract Made from Rice Bran and Dendropanax on the Whitening Effects in B16F10 Cell Line (미강·황칠 발효추출물이 B16F10 세포의 미백에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the whitening effects of fermentation extract made from the Rice bran and Dendropanax(FRD) Fermentation conditions were as follows; 1) Dendropanaxand and Rice bran were blended in a ratio of 1 to 1, 2) a weight of sugar was 10% of the total weight, 3) an amount of enzyme was 0.1%, and 4) a temperature was 20℃. It has been fermented for 90 days. In order to observe the whitening effects of FRD, the author measured the cell viability and the inhibition rate of the melanin biosynthesis, the activity of tyrosinase and SOD (superoxide dismutase) in malignant melanoma, B16F10 cells. As a result, FRD significantly inhibited the cell viability of B16F10 in more than 500 ㎍/㎖. FRD significantly suppressed the generation of melanin, and that induced by α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) in more than 1,000 ㎍/㎖. FRD significantly decreased the activity of tyrosinase and that induced by α-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) in more than 500 ㎍/㎖. FRD did not changed the activity of SOD in dose dependent manner. Therefore, the author considered that the fermentation extract made from a Rice bran and Dendropanax will be able to produce high value-added products, if used as a commercial.   • This study was designed to find out the relations between the major investment decision-making behaviors and profitability of the hospital. A total of 57 hospitals were analyzed on this study. The major findings were as follows; 1. Among the types of the investment decision-making, major factors affecting the profitability were where the top management belongs among the defender, analyzer, prospector, and reactor type. Other factors were whether or not hospital analyzes which is more economical between the purchase by cash and lease of the medical equipment and whether or not hospital changes the decision before the actual investment. 2, Among the types of the investment decision-making, major factors affecting the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets were ranking of the priority and whether or not hospitals can get enough revenue and cash flow when hospitals have to borrow a big amount of fund from outside. 3. Among the financial indices regarding the financial stability, major factor affecting the profitability was fixed assets to long-tenn capital. Other factors affecting the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets were value added to medical equipment, normal profit to medical equipment, liability to total assets, current ratio, value added to payroll expenses. 4. Investment decision-making behaviors are partially influencing on the financial structure and efficient operation of the assets. However it was proved that the profitability was the most influencial factor than other factors related with the operation of the hospital. 5. To improve the irrational investment decision-making behaviors strategic management system should be introduced, and the top mamagement's investment decision-making style should be changed from reactor and analyser styles to prospector and reactor ones.

Quality Improvement in Fish Burger by Addition of Squid Viscera Oil (오징어 내장유를 이용한 어육버거의 품질개선)

  • As an investigation for utilization of squid viscera oil as a food source, we attempted to improve a quality of fish burger by addition of emulsion curd formed from gelatin, water and refined squid viscera oil. Judging from the results of peroxide value, brown pigment formation, color value of Hunter, jelly strength and sensory evaluation, the reasonable amount of emulsion curd for the improvement of a fish burger functionality was determined as 6% on the weight basis of the chopped mackerel meat. Total plate counts, volatile basic nitrogen and histamine contents in fish burger prepared by addition of 6% of emulsion curd were $6.2{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$, 19.0 mg/100 g, and 50.7 mg/100 g, respectively. It may be concluded, from the above results that the emulsion curd-added fish burger is a safe as a food commodity. The ratio of polyenes to saturates of emulsion curd-added mackerel burger was 1.13. By adding emulsion curd formed from gelatin, water and refined squid viscera oil, color in cross section, texture and lipid functionality of mackerel burger could be improved in part.

Characteristic of Zr(Si)N film as a diffusion barrier between Cu metal and Si substrate (Cu 금속과 Si 기판 사이에서 확산방지막으로 사용하기 위한 Zr(Si)N 박막의 특성)

  • We have studied Zr(Si)N film as a diffusion barrier between Cu metal and Si substrate for application of interconnection metal in ULSI circuits. Zr(Si)N film was deposited with reactive DC magnetron sputtering system using $Ar/N_2$mixed gas. The value of the resistivity was the lowest for the ZrN film using 29 : 1 of Ar : $N_2$reactant gas ratio at room temperature and decreased with increasing of Si substrate temperature. As the value of ZrN film resistivity was decreased, the direction of crystal growth was toward to (002) plane. The barrier property of ZrN film added with Si was improved. But Si was added too much in ZrN film, the barrier property was degraded. The adhesive property was improved with increasing of Si in ZrN. For the analysis of the film, XRD, Optical microscopy, Scretch tester, so on were used.
