The objective of this study is to investigate endurance test of localization part for T-50 aircraft engine. Major localization parts of the engine (F404-STW-102) was performed using Accelerated Simulated Mission Engine Test. The purpose of this test is to evaluate of quality demonstration capability, to verify design of engine localization parts, and to improvement safety and operation rate of T-50 advanced trainer by finding out operational problems in production phase and fixing it.

Bubble boom may be a good alternative for the prevention of oil spill pollution due to its easy deployment and clean post-process tasks. The present work is focused on the experimental investigation of air bubble movement for the bubble boom by visualization and quantitative PIV measurements. Bubble plume was generated by adjusting the pressure of pressure vessel ranging 6.7 kpa to 14.7 kpa. The results showed at lower inlet velocity and higher supply air flow rate that bubble boom maintained its containing capability reasonably well up to the maximum containing limit.

Digitalization of processor and increase of control information need the fiber optic data network which has excellent noise immunity and high-quality, widebaudwidth information transfer capability. It is aimed to offer a fiber optic dataway system for measuring and control the power plant, that has high reliability, high data transmission rate and small cable duct with large transmission capacity.

Recently, Turbo code has been considered for channel coding in IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunication-2000) system, because it offers better error correcting capability than the traditional convolution/viterbi coding . In this paper, a turbo code decoder for speech transmission in IMT-2000 system with frame size 192 bits, constrait length K=3, generator polynomials G(5,7) and code rate R=1/3 is designed using SOVA(Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm) and block interleaver

A comprehensive coverage of corrosion in batteries is rendered difficult by the wide choice of materials, environments and physical features as obtained in practical settings. Understanding of the complex processes that occur in these electrochemical systems gets clearer as new theoretical approaches backed by sophisticated analytical and characterization techniques continue to provide valuable insights which aid in controlling/mitigating wasteful corrosion reactions which affect battery shelf-life, cycle life, rate capability and capacity. In the light of the above, I limit myself to a discussion on corrosion aspects in representative system such as conventional Leclanche, lead-acid battery and magnesium batteries, and advanced lithium systems.

Carbon/Epoxy composite specimens formed with buttress groves are fabricated. The buttress form of groove is useful in any application where high shear loads are transferred in one direction between structural components. In this study, two stage transfer line with limited repair capability is modeled to formulate optimal dynamic repair priority policy. The method of Markov Chains is used to analyze the analytical model of this line. An efficient algorithm is developed, utilizing the block tridiagonal structure of the transition probability matrix, to obtain the steady state probabilities and system performance measures, such as the steady state production rate of the line and the average in-process inventory in the interstage buffer.

An air flow measurement device is proposed. The thermal characteristic of a semiconductor element is adopted as a cooling parameter of thermal convection rate. The difference between forced convection and natural convection of two Zener diodes results enough difference in temperature. Experiment at various air flow conditions shows the measuring capability of the air flow in a duct. This measuring device has some merits, such as a reliability n hard field condition, simple circuit for signal processing, small volume of the element, less air flow resistance, independance of various ai temperature. The experimental result shows that it is an exact and usefull air flow measurement device.

6 sigma movement is the most prominent quality improvement methodology in practice. Measurement plays an important role in helping any organization improve quality. Therefore, the measurement systems analysis is the first step for the quality improvement of manufacturing process in 6 sigma movement. In this study, we investigate the effect of Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility(Gage R&R) in view of defect rate and process capability indices, and provide guidelines for acceptance of gage repeatability and reproducibility(%R&R) for six sigma quality.
