수명예측 방법에 따른 계전기의 수명분석 (Life Analysis of Relays based on Life Prediction Method)

  • In order to establish preventive maintenance standards through analysis & reliability prediction of about 60,000pcs of 20kindsof relays and contractors used for Seoul subway trains, several life prediction methodologies were applied. Firstly, Occurrence, Severity, Detection were defined and predicted by applying operation characteristic of EMU to the number of actions of relays & contactors which the manufacturers generally offer as the life cycle data. Secondly, failure distribution and average life of parts were analyzed through interpretation of field data based on a lot of experience which had built up in the field for a long time. Finally, using the 217PLUS standard as a reliability prediction program, comparative analysis of use reliability and inherent reliability was done through reliability prediction at the part level and system level.

  • 모바일 통신 채널의 빠른 변화는 다중 반송파 변조의 성능에 많은 영향을 준다. 본 논문에서는 다중 반송파 CDMA 네트워크의 BER 성능을 분석하였고 등가 신호 대 전체 잡음 전력비를 라이시안 페이딩, 부분대역간섭 다중접속 사용자 간섭채널에서 유도하였다. MC-CDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크 등가 SNIR을 사용하여 MC-CDMA/BPSK 신호의 성능을 부분대역간섭의 점유율과 간섭 전력에 따라서 평가하였다. 그리고 다중반송파 멀티미디어 시스템의 QoS를 향상하기 위한 부분대역간섭의 영향을 종합적으로 연구하였다.

박물관 전시공간구조와 관람행태의 상관관계 재해석에 관한 연구 - 전시밀도와 시각개방도에 따른 관람확률 해석을 중심으로 - (Reinterpretation on the Relationship between Spatial Structure and Visitors' Movement in Museums - Focus on the Interpretation of Tracking Score with Exhibition Density and Extent of Eyesight -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between spatial space structure and visitors' behavior and interpret visitors' behavior concretely from the aspect of exhibition environments. So, this study intends to qualify spatial space structure with integration, connectivity and control value by utilizing space syntax, limit to tracking score among the analysis index and reinterpret with exhibition density and extend of eyesight among the exhibition environments. The results of this study are as follows; First, in case of museums, tracking score shows plus correlation with connectivity and control value among the space syntax variables and very low correlation with integration. In case of art museums, tracking score shows plus correlation with integration and wide variable is judged to more useful to analyze visitor's behavior than minor variable. Second, museums doesn't make a great effect on visitors' behavior from the aspect of extent of eyesight, but from the aspect of exhibition density, visitors relatively watched evenly without short cut at the early stage of exhibition in spite of high exhibition density. And, they conducted short cut as they went to the middle stage of exhibition on the course of watching although the numerical value of exhibition density is low. Third, in case of art museums, visitors' behavior was relatively influenced by exhibition density, not extent of eyesight. But, as they went to the high level on the course of watching, watching speed became rapid and watching length became short in the place the value of extent of eyesight was high. Its reason is judged to be easy to grasp position or space structure of the next exhibition room visually. Therefore, when the concentration of watching is necessary from the aspect of exhibition, to control exhibition density properly before the space is useful to draw visiting to exhibition space afterward.

Changes in Hematological Parameters with Pegylated Interferon in Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infected Patients

  • The liver is one of the most common sites of cancer in the world, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) predominating. HCC is the sixth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer related death overall. Hepatitis C is a major risk factor and HCV is a rapid spreading virus which has become a problem globally, including in Pakistan. Interferon alpha therapy is used against HCV disease to regulate cell reproduction and to boost the immune system. In minute amounts interferon alpha is produced naturally by the immune system in HCV patients in response to hepatitis C virus and binds to receptors in the target cells and starts transcription of 20-30 genes due to which it develops an antiviral influence. Interferon is also administered artificially to overcome HCV disease and remove the biological effect of the virus from the infected site. The use of interferon or Peg-IFN plus Ribavirin treatment is also associated with adverse effects on body. For the current study, a convenient sample of 156 HCV positive patients of both males and females were taken. To collect blood CP and ALT, a reduction of level data and other important information were collected from the patients at regular intervals. Findings were 11.4 % in the red blood cells (RBC), 9.64 % in the total leukocyte count (WBC), 8.4 % in the hemoglobin levels (HB), 30.3 % in the platelet (Plt) count in both sexes. There was significant reduction in ALT levels due to Pegylated interferon plus ribavirin therapy. Hence strict haemotological monitoring of blood CP and ALT levels is necessary at regular intervals to reduce severe side effects which may lead to morbidity and mortality.

Viability and Luciferase Activity of Freeze-Dried Recombinant Biosensor Cells for Detecting Aromatic Hydrocarbons

  • Aromatic hydrocarbons are of major concern among genotoxic chemicals due to their toxicity and persistence. Some microorganisms can utilize aromatic hydrocarbons as carbon and energy sources by inducing expression of catabolic operon(s). The XylR regulatory protein activates transcription of the catabolic enzymes to degrade BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene) from its cognate promoters, Pu and Ps upon exposure of the cells to the aromatic hydrocarbons. The activity of XylR on the promoters was previously monitored using luciferase luc reporter system. The xylR, its promoter Pr and the promoter Po for the phenolic compound catabolic operon were introduced upstream of firefly luciferase luc in the pGL3b vector to generate about 7.1 kb of pXRBTEX. Here E. coli harboring the plasmid was freeze-dried under various conditions to fin,d optimal conditions for storage and transport. The cell viability and luciferase activity were maintained better, when the cells were freeze-dried at -7$0^{\circ}C$ in the addition of the 10% skim milk or 12% sucrose. However, coaddition of protectants such as 10% skim milk plus 10% glucose or 12% sucrose plus 10% glucose, resulted in much better viability and bioluminescence activity compared with the effect of single addition of each protectant. In addition, it was shown that the freeze-dried cells maintained almost intact bioluminescent activities and cell viability for at least 1 week after freeze-drying. This work demonstrated that the properly freeze-dried recombinant bacterial cells could be utilized as a whole-cell biosensor for simple and rapid monitoring of BTEX in the environment.

Management of Infections with Rapidly Growing Mycobacteria after Unexpected Complications of Skin and Subcutaneous Surgical Procedures

  • Background : Infection caused by rapidly growing mycobacteria (RGM) is not uncommon, and the prevalence of RGM infection has been increasing. Clinical diagnosis is difficult because there are no characteristic clinical features. There is also no standard antibiotic regimen for treating RGM infection. A small series of patients with RGM infections was studied to examine their treatments and outcomes. Methods : A total of 5 patients who had developed postoperative infections from January 2009 to December 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were initially screened using a mycobacteria rapid screening test (polymerase chain reaction [PCR]-reverse blot hybridization assay). To confirm mycobacterial infection, specimens were cultured for nontuberculous mycobacteria and analyzed by 16 S ribosomal RNA and rpoB gene PCR. Results : The patients were treated with intravenous antibiotics during hospitalization, and oral antibiotics were administered after discharge. The mean duration of follow-up was 9 months, and all patients were completely cured of infection with a regimen of a combination of antibiotics plus surgical treatment. Although none of the patients developed recurrence, there were complications at the site of infection, including hypertrophic scarring, pigmentation, and disfigurement. Conclusions : Combination antibiotic therapy plus drainage of surgical abscesses appeared to be effective for the RGM infections seen in our patients. Although neither the exact dosage nor a standardized regimen has been firmly established, we propose that our treatment can provide an option for the management of rapidly growing mycobacterial infection.

해양 채널 환경에서 3D 입체영상의 전송을 위한 계층변조 기법 (Hierarchical Modulation Scheme for 3D Stereoscopic Video Transmission Over Maritime Channel Environment)

  • 최근 방송통신 및 비디오 코딩 기술의 급격한 발전으로 인해 3D 입체영상에 기반을 둔 실감 미디어 서비스의 요구는 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 요구는 가정 내 고정된 3DTV 뿐만 아니라 개인 스마트기기, 자동차, 철도, 그리고 선박과 같이 자유롭게 이동하는 무선 채널 환경에서도 반드시 만족되어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 실감 미디어 서비스의 요구를 만족하기 위해 직접파가 반사파 보다 우세한 해양 라이시안 채널 환경을 고려하여 3D 입체영상을 전송한다. 또한 3D 입체영상은 일반적으로 V+D (Video plus Depth) 포맷을 통해 표현되기 때문에 이 포맷에 특성을 고려하여 계층 4/16-QAM을 적용한 비균등 오류보호 기법도 제안한다. 이는 아무리 수신 채널의 상태가 나쁜 선박이라도 중간에 끊어짐이 없이 방송서비스를 제공받을 수 있는 기술로 기대된다.

단일 및 복합중금속용액에서 제강급랭슬래그의 경쟁흡착특성 (Competitive Adsorption Characteristics of Rapid Cooling Slag in Single- and Multi-Metal Solutions)

  • 본 연구는 산업폐기물의 일종인 제강급랭슬래그의 중금속 폐수처리를 위한 여재로서의 활용도를 높이고자 단일 및 복합 중금속용액에 대한 제강급랭슬래그의 경쟁흡착특성을 조사하였다. Freundlich 등온흡착식을 이용한 Cd, Cu 및 Zn의 흡착능은 단일 용액일 때 각각 2.21, 2.56 및 0.89이었으며, 복합 용액일 때는 각각 0.31, 1.28 및 0.37이었으며, Langmuir 등온흡착식을 이용한 제강급랭슬래그의 최대흡착능은 단일 용액일 때 Cu(16.6 mg/g) > Cd(8.1 mg/g) > Zn(6.2 mg/g)순이었으며, 복합 용액일 때 Cu(14.5 mg/g) >> Zn(1.3 mg/g) > Cd(0.6 mg/g)이었다. Freundlich와 Langmuir 등온흡착식은 모두 동일한 경향으로 단일 용액에서 최대흡착능에 비해 복합 용액일 때 흡착능은 감소하는 경향이었다. 특히 Cu의 경우는 단일 용액에 비해 복합용액일때 흡착능이 12.6% 정도로 약간 감소하였으나, Cd 및 Zn의 경우는 단일 용액에 비해 복합 용액일 때 흡착능이 각각 92.6% 및 79.0% 정도로 현저하게 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 미루어 볼 때, Cd 및 Zn은 경쟁 이온이 없는 단일 용액에서는 흡착제에 대해 높은 흡착능을 보였으나, 복합용액에서는 경쟁관계인 Cu에 의해 상대적으로 흡착능이 감소한 것으로 판단된다. 제강급랭슬래그의 단일 및 복합중금속 용액에서 Cd, Cu 및 Zn의 흡착량은 전반적으로 Langmuir 등온흡착식이 Freundlich 등온흡착식에 비해 잘 일치하였으며, 또한 단일 및 복합중금속 용액에서 각 금속의 흡착패턴은 각 금속의 경쟁으로 인하여 서로 다른 패턴을 가지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 제강급랭슬래그는 중금속 폐수처리를 위한 여재로 충분히 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

교모세포종 U-251MG, U-373MG세포주의 Cytokines처리에 의한 세포내 ICAM-1 발현 (Cytokine Induction of Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1(ICAM-1) Expression on Human Glioblastoma Cell Line, U-251 MG, U-373 MG)

  • Objective : Despite advances in the understanding of tumor biology and the tumor immunology, there has been no effective treatment. The Intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) has been shown to be important in interaction involving cells of the immune system and to be upregulated in a number of cell culture systems by cytokines, including immune interferon($IFN-{\gamma}$) and tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$($TNF-{\alpha}$). ICAM-1 has been identified as one of the ligands for lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1(LFA-1). The effectiveness of various cytokines to ICAM-1 induction on cultured human glioblastoma cell lines and potential efficacy of immunotherapy were studied. Method : Human glioblastoma cell lines, U-251 MG, U-373 MG were trypsinized and suspended at $1{\times}10^5cells/ml$ and grown on 8 well chamber slide, the cells were incubated in 0.3ml medium alone or medium containing $IFN-{\gamma}$(1000U/ml) or $TNF-{\alpha}$(250U/ml) or $IFN-{\gamma}$ plus $TNF-{\alpha}$ for 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. The coverslip were then removed and stained with a 1/30 dilution of anti-ICAM-1 antibody. Result : Surface antigen expression of ICAM-1 was increased by incubating glioblastoma cell lines with $IFN-{\gamma}$ and $TNF-{\alpha}$. Combined effect of $IFN-{\gamma}$ and $TNF-{\alpha}$ has induced more ICAM-1 expression on glioblastoma cell lines. Upregulation of ICAM-1 expression in an established glioblastoma cell line was of greater magnitude and more rapid following incubation with $IFN-{\gamma}$ plus $TNF-{\alpha}$. Surface antigen expression of ICAM-1 was increased for up to 48 hours after cytokine treatment on both cell lines(p<0.05). There was no difference on both cell lines(p>0.05). Conclusion : The results of the present study indicate that ICAM-1 expression in glioblastoma cell lines, U-251 MG and U-373 MG, are induced and enhanced after treatment with $IFN-{\gamma}$ and $TNF-{\alpha}$. Combined effect of $IFN-{\alpha}$ and $TNF-{\gamma}$ is stronger and more rapid than $IFN-{\gamma}$ or $TNF-{\alpha}$ alone.

급속냉각된 Nd-Fe(-Co)와 Sm-Co(-Fe)계 Laves 화합물의 미세조직과 자기특성 (Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of Rapidly Solidified Nd-Fe(-Co) and Sm-Co(-Fe) Laves Compounds )

  • $NdFe_2$, $Nd{(Fe_{0.5})}_2$, $SmCo_2$$Sm{(Fe_{0.5}Co_{0.5})}_2$ 조성의 Laves 화합물을 급속냉각기술에 의하여 제조하였다. 저온자기특성을 조사한 결과 $Nd{(Fe_{0.5}Co_{0.5})}_2$, $SmCo_2$$Sm{(Fe_{0.5}Co_{0.5})}_2$ 조성의 Laves 화합물은 강자성의 거동을 보이며 결정구조는 모두 C15의 단일상으로 존재하였으며, $NdFe_2$ 조성의 급냉합금은 일종의 spin reorientation 거동을 보였다. $NdFe_2$ 조성의 급냉합금은 화학조성식 $NdFe_7$의 준안정상과 Nd-rich상으로 구성됨을 알았다. $NdFe_2$ 급냉합금을 열처리 하면 $NdFe_7$$Nd_2Fe_{17}$과 Nd-Fe-O상으로 변태하였다. $Sm{(Fe_{0.5}Co_{0.5})}_2$ Laves 화합물의 보자력은 상온에서 4kOe이며 큐리온도는 $400^{\circ}C$로 측정된다. 또한 $Nd{(Fe_{0.5}Co_{0.5})}_2$ Laves 화합물은 상온에서 $2.8\;{\mu}_B/f.u.의$ 자기모멘트를 보유한다.
