대피선 설치를 통한 수도권 광역철도 급행화 방안 (Mixed Operation with Express Train for Urban Railways in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 수도권 광역통행의 과다한 승용차 이용은 서울시 교통문제의 핵이다. 시계 도로망의 혼잡과 더불어 도시내부로 유입된 승용차가 유발하는 2차 통행도 심각하므로 광역 승용차 통행을 줄이는 것이 시급하다. 이러한 문제를 해결하는 가장 효과적인 방안중 하나는 광역철도의 경쟁력 제고이다. 광역철도와 승용차를 비교해보면 대부분 수도권 지역에서 철도의 통행시간이 승용차를 초과하는 실정이다. 본 연구는 광역철도가 통행시간에 대한 경쟁력을 갖게 하기 위한 방안으로 대피선 설치를 통한 급행열차 도입을 제안한다. 급행과 완행열차의 혼합운행은 매우 정교한 기술적 검토를 요구하며 실질적인 운행방안의 제시가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 급행열차에 대한 운전선도를 시뮬레이션하고 급완행 열차의 교행 패턴을 도출하는 스케쥴 작성 알고리즘을 제시하고 안산선을 대상으로 가상 적용 사례를 제시한다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 안산선의 경우 $1{\sim}2$개의 신규 대피선 설치를 통해 급행열차의 표정속도를 63kph 까지 향상시킬 수 있음을 입증한다.

  • The status and effectiveness of Bi-modal Tram is analyzed through the comparison of the transport effectiveness and operation cost between the public transportation systems (bus, light rail transit) considering the vehicle and operation characteristic of new transit system Bi-modal Tram. The standard operation schedule is established in consideration of the vehicle specification and operation characteristic of main public transportation modes, and then the annual average operation cost is estimated depending on the volume, speed, analysis length for respective public transportation mode. Through analyzing the operation cost and distribution characteristic of public transportation modes depending on the transport volume and travel speed, the operational efficiency suitable for the city is derived. It is concluded that the operational efficiency of Bi-modal Tram is superior to that of the bus and light rail transit on the aspect of travel volume and operation speed.

전기기관차 견인전동기 운전점 특성과 가진주파수를 고려한 프레임 설계 (Frame Design Considering Exciting Frequency and Driving Characteristic of a Traction Motor for Electric Locomotive)

  • In this paper, we were performed a structural analysis and durability analysis for an integral frame with an axle according to development of the electric locomotive traction motor. In terms of the structural stability, as a result of the analysis modeling with coupling conditions of beam element and an alternative element of three-dimensional, the maximum von-Mises stress of the locking screw mounting frame were similar as 50MPa and 51MPa. Also A comparison of the natural frequency and the exciting frequency while driving of the electric locomotive No. 8200, the natural frequency is 627.05Hz~856.9Hz while the exciting frequency is not more than most 30Hz or 553Hz, 1110Hz. Therefore, it is possible to avoid the resonance.

  • The public transportation in operation or to be planned domestically includes subway, LRT, bimodal tram and bus, which are independently characterized in their passenger capacity and cost. High quality service is generally accompanied by high cost of construction and operation. Thus, ITS, BIS/BMS and BRT system are recently introduced to provide high quality service to the passengers with the cost as low as possible. The bimodal tram is under development to achieve such goals in public transportation. The passenger capacity is approximately expected to be 10,000$\sim$17,000 persons/hour and the construction cost to be 10$\sim$30 million dollars/km. It is possible to construct the infrastructure gradually depending on the demand of transportation in the planned route, which can effectively reduce the initial cost to launch the service. The bimodal tram is developed to provide the advantages of subway and bus to the passengers with respect to the scheduled operation and flexibility of the lines.

  • The energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspect of the railway system would be superior to other on-land transportation systems. In a preliminary feasibility study stage, the energy efficiency and problems related with environment are usually not considered. The railway noise and vibration which could be reasons of environmental problems are focused and studied in this paper. The investment for railway systems could be encouraged by the considering of main environmental elements evaluated with the modified noise and vibration standard for environment-friendly railway construction.

  • The railway in Korea has been one of important transportation means as the introduction of high-speed train and progress in subway systems. Also, as increases in the speed of train, the guarantee of safety becomes more important, especially, in the fields of railway vehicles and/or facilities. The structural health evaluation for the prevention and diagnosis of the accidents could be conducted using several types of nondestructive evaluation techniques such as ultrasonic developed using infrared thermography or optic fiber sensors. In this paper, the recent progress in structural health evaluation for railway systems has been introduced, and the case studies have been discussed.

  • Urban Railway was used importantly with transport for several decades. This transportation facilities used electricity. When the breakdown occurs, social, the economic loss is enormous. In addition to, the power equipment was ageing. We need preventive diagnostic monitoring system in order to prevent breakdown of power equipment. In this paper, we investigates characteristic and breakdown type of the Urban Railway power equipment. Through the this research, we can contribute in the operation which power equipment is efficient of the Urban Railway.

  • Since urban railway transit is one of the most essential transportation systems, its power facilities must ensure high reliability and safety. Currently, urban railway operating organizations perform TBM (Time Based Maintenance) on power facilities. However, in order to improve management efficiency and system safety, CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) is preferred. Among various power facilities, mold transformers has been chosen as the object of study since it is widely used for the purpose of minimizing volume and weight, and due to safety against fire. In this paper, various transformer failure cases due to electric, thermal, mechanical and environmental factors have been collected and analyzed. In addition, investigation on national and international condition based maintenance cases and the characteristics of sensors widely used for transformer monitoring has been performed to suggest the optimal condition based maintenance technique for urban railway systems.

Development of a Novel Charging Algorithm for On-board ESS in DC Train through Weight Modification

  • Owing to the reduction in the peak power of a DC railway subsystem, many studies on energy storage system (ESS) applications have received attention. Each application focuses on improving the efficiency and addressing regulation issues by utilizing the huge regenerative energy generated by braking-phase vehicles. The ESS applications are widely divided into installation on a vehicle or in a substation, depending on the target system characteristics. As the main purpose of the ESS application is to reduce the peak power of starting-phase vehicles, an optimized ESS utilization can be achieved by the operating at the highest peak power section. However, the weight of an entire vehicle, including those of the passengers, continuously changes during operation; thus, considering the total power consumption and the discharging point is difficult. As a contribution to the various storage device algorithms, this study deals with ESS on board vehicles and introduces an ESS operating plan for peak-power reduction by investigating the weight of a train on a real-time basis. This process is performed using a train-performance simulator, and the simulation accuracy can be increased because the weight in each phase can be adopted in the simulation.

지역간 철도의 노선계획 최적화 모형 (Line Planning Optimization Model for Intercity Railway)

  • 본 연구는 지역간 여객 철도의 노선계획을 최적화하는 방법에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구의 노선계획 모형은 다양한 차종이 운용되는 철도노선에서 이용자비용(이용자의 총 통행시간)과 운영자비용(열차 운행비용, 유지 보수비용, 차량 구입비용)의 합을 최소화하고자 하는 혼합정수계획 수리모형으로 구축되었고, 모형의 해법으로 분기한정법이 사용되었다. 수요의 변화, 열차 속도의 변화, 정차스케줄 수의 변화 등에 대한 민감도 분석 결과도 제시하였고, 국내 경부선의 사례연구를 통하여 각 열차차종의 차종별 수요 분할 뿐만 아니라 최적 정차스케줄과 운행빈도를 동시에 산출할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 본 연구의 모형과 결과는 열차 운영 전략을 수립하거나 새로운 철도 시스템의 효율성을 분석하거나 이용자 운영자의 사회적 비용을 산정하는 경우 등에 적용될 수 있다.
