철도사고 위험분류 및 원인분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis and Classification of Types and Causes of Railway Accidents)

  • As a public transportation possible to convey a large quantity, the railway is safe and keeps time, but it has hazards to cause a disaster if the accidents such as collision, derailment, and fire occur. So advanced countries carry out System Safety Plan with various program activities which have connected orders to maintain or improve safety level by finding hazards, evaluation, taking measures and practice, and improving problems. Especially they systematically manage hazards to cause railway accidents and the factors which possibly threat safety, using national classification of risk and causes with analysis of the related data such as establishing accident/incident data and safety regulations/standards. As executing railway safety regulations, domestic railway is currently trying to improve railway safety management system. The research of classification system of accidents/incidents is one thing to make railway safety management systems better. In this research, we reviewed hazardous factors of railway systems and classification of the causes as the beginning of system safety management, and we conducted study on development of railway accident classification based on findings of this research. The results are able to be used in identifying hazards and activities of systemic safety management at the step of railway accident report and investigation.

Alternate Energy: Gravity Powered Rail Transportation Systems

  • A simple pendulum shows how efficient gravity is in recovering energy. Any transportation is a linearly oscillating system; every load gains kinetic energy, but loses the same to come to a stop. The Gravity Power Towers comprise of a set of vertically moving heavy masses coupled, through microprocessor controlled continuously variable gear and cable system, to a horizontally rolling unit on wheels either on rail or road. The heavy masses move vertically up against gravity gaining potential energy while stopping a moving mass; move down under gravity force, giving out energy. The Tower thus accelerates or sustains the speed a rolling unit, and while decelerating, recover the kinetic energy. Speeds of 360 kmph can be attained. Recovery of energy varies from 98.5-70%; the longer the distance between stops, the lesser is recovery. The economical, omnipresent & eternal Gravity Power grants energy independence to many a nation. Global warming reduces.

  • The railway safety sign, which is a part of railway signal system, is installed at the lineside to inform a train driver the position, direction or condition concerning the train operation by its shapes, colors or symbols. The sign in the existed line of South Korea has low-level of visibility and legibility, so that it is difficult for the drivers to understand the meaning of a sign enough by just seeing its letters or pictogram. This paper is aimed at reviewing the design problems of the sign in existed line and developing the design to enhance its visibility and legibility and verifying its effectiveness.

That is, point that railroad has competitive power and comparative advantage than other transportation until transportation system construction that is environment-friendly as part of country comparative power strengthening is embossed newly. On this time, railroad reached time that environment management that it is applied that is environment-Paradigm over management whole as well as field of technology such as construction and rolling stocks is necessary. This paper wishes to grope plan that introduce this in railroading hereafter by examining necessity introduction in railway operation through environment marketing example. 경량전철용 유도급전 시스템의 전자파 분석 연구 (A Study on the Electro-magnetic Wave of Inductive Power Transfer System for Light Railway Transit)

  • Traction motors for driving and power conversion devices using semiconductor switch are equipped with a transportation systems such as an electrical railway system. Power conversion devices have the possibility of malfunction by external electromagnetic waves. As a result, these could affect the safe operation of the railway. Moreover, the electromagnetic waves above safe limits will be harmful to the passengers inside the railway vehicles or anyone working around the rail-track. For this reason, the importance and need about the reliability check and complement of electromagnetic waves generated from the IPT(Inductive Power Transfer) system have been suggested for the safe application of the IPT system to the railway system. In this study, prediction for the electromagnetic wave properties was conducted through FEM(Finite Element Method) analysis of 5kW-class IPT system design model. Next, the 5kW IPT system prototype was made and then the small-scaled railway vehicle was made to mount the IPT system and the energy management system. Finally, the electromagnetic waves generated from the real small-scaled IPT system were measured and analyzed, and then the reliability check of predictions by FEM analysis were carried out.

  • There exists required safety integrity level (SIL) to assure safety in accordance with international standards for every electrical / electronics / control equipment or systems with safety related functions. The SIL is allocated from lowest level (level 0) to highest level (level 4). In order to guarantee certain safety level that is internationally acceptable, application of methodology for SIL allocation and demonstration based on related international standards is required. However, the theoretical and practical study for safety integrity level is barely under way in the domestic railway industry. This research studied not only the global process of SIL allocation to guarantee safety in accordance with international standards for safety related equipment and system, but the quantitative methodology based on international standard and the semi-quantitative methodology as alternative way for SIL allocation. Specifically, the systematic SIL allocation for platform screen door system of railway is studied applying the semi-quantitative methodology in order to save much time and effort compared to quantitative method.

수도권 도시철도망 승객이동경로추정을 위한 교통카드기반 최적 M-유사경로 구축방안 (Transportation Card Based Optimal M-Similar Paths Searching for Estimating Passengers' Route Choice in Seoul Metropolitan Railway Network)

  • 수도권 교통카드는 대중교통인구 이동에 대한 기록을 간직하고 있는 전수화 자료로서 가치가 높다. 교통카드에 기록된 정보는 버스통행의 경우 승객의 이동에 대한 정확한 정보를 담고 있으나, 도시철도는 역사의 진출입 단말기 정보만 기록되어 환승을 포함한 경로정보를 파악하기 어렵다. 수도권 도시철도망에서 나타나는 승객의 경로선정 특성을 파악하여 이동 경로추정을 위한 방안으로 활용하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구는 수도권 도시철도의 승객이동 경로가 갖는 특징으로 M-유사경로와 환승회수의 증가를 추가적인 비용으로 고려한다고 검토하였다. 경로탐색조건을 구축하기 위해 계단형 환승계수가 도입된 비가산성 통행비용에 대하여 M-경로탐색기법을 제안하였다. 교통카드기록을 대상으로 수도권 도시철도 역간 경로의 민감도를 거시적으로 검토하였으며, M-경로탐색기법을 확률적 통행배정모형으로 구축하여 수도권 도시철도의 링크통행량, 노선간 환승통행량의 결과를 도출하였다.

  • 고속철도의 출현과 함께 철도는 국내외에서 자주 사용하는 교통수단 중 하나이다. 또한, 환경적인 측면에서도 다른 교통수단에 비해 이산화탄소 배출량도 적은 편이며 에너지 효율성은 높다. 철도에 관한 관심이 높아질 수록 철도의 안전과 관련된 문제는 중요한 관심사 중 하나이다. 그 중 시각적 이상현상은 철도 앞에 동물이나 사람 등 다양한 장애물이 갑자기 나타나 사고가 발생한다. 이러한 사고들을 예방하기 위해 철도 레일을 탐지하는 것은 기본적으로 탐지해야하는 영역 중 하나이다. 철도에 설치된 카메라를 통해 영상을 수집할 수 있으며 철도 레일 탐지 방법은 전통적인 방식과 딥러닝 알고리즘을 이용한 방식이 있다. 전통적인 방식은 레일 주변의 다양한 노이즈로 인해 정확한 탐지가 어려우며 딥러닝 알고리즘을 이용하면 정확도 높게 탐지할 수 있으며 두 알고리즘을 융합하여 정확한 철도 레일을 탐지한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 수집한 데이터를 기반으로 철도 레일 탐지에 대한 정확도를 판단한다.

  • A railway is a complex system integrated with a lot of technical elements such as trains, track facilities, human factors, operation & control and maintenance. As a mass transportation system, a railway could contain potential risks that may result in a high death rate and property losses. Accordingly, Railroad Safety Technology R&D Corps. is adopting the plan of the construction of Railway Safety Test Facilities as a part of the Railway Total Safety Project to enhance the railway safety, and carrying out researches on effective project management methods with Systems Engineering techniques. Recently, various systems engineering tools such as CORE or Cradle are applied to manage the system requirements and the project management process in the part of the aerospace engineering and automobile engineering so on. The railway industry also makes an effort to develop an efficient management skills using systems engineering tools as the railway system is multi-disciplinary. Therefore, we propose the more effectual management method of constructing the Railway Safety Test Facilities applying the systems engineering tool to the research.

ASTM 규격에 따른 민감화물 수송용 컨테이너 화차의 진동 특성에 관한 기초 연구 (A Fundamental Study on Vibration Characteristics of Container Car for Sensitive Cargo Transportation according to ASTM D-4169)

  • 민감 상품의 화물 운송 중 발생하는 진동 및 충격의 저감을 위하여 본 연구에서는 실제 트럭과 화차에 진동센서가 부착된 컨테이너를 이용하여 운송 경로에 따른 진동이력을 측정하였다. 컨테이너 내부 바닥 2개소에 3축 방향(길이, 횡, 수직 방향)으로 가속도센서를 부착하여 트럭운송 구간(아산-의왕)과 화물열차 운송 구간(의왕-부산)에 대하여 진동이력을 측정하였다. ASTM D-4169에서 제안된 철도 진동 프로파일(0.29Grms)은 트럭 진동 프로파일(0.54Grms) 대비 약 50% 수준으로 낮다. 국내 화물 컨테이너 운송 동안 ASTM D-4169에 준한 진동 프로파일과 비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 트럭 운송 구간에서의 길이방향과 횡 방향 진동 수준은 모두 ASTM의 트럭운송 진동 프로파일보다 길이방향 약 16%, 횡 방향 약 33% 수준으로 전반적으로 낮게 나타난 반면에, 수직방향 진동은 4~15Hz와 60Hz 이상 범위에서 ASTM의 트럭운송 진동 프로파일을 부분적으로 초과하였다. 화물열차 진동 측정이력은 도로와 유사하며, 길이방향과 횡방향의 진동측정이력은 ASTM D-4169의 철도 진동 프로파일보다 낮으며, 반대로 수직방향의 이력은 30Hz이상 범위에서 초과하였다.
