Analysis of the Coupled Vibration for Traveling Wheel (주행 중 차륜의 연성 진동 해석)

  • The coupled vibration of a wheel-railway track system has been considered as that of a moving mass on a beam. In this paper, an analytical model is proposed to analyze the coupled vibration when a wheel travels on a railway track. The railway track supported by sleepers is considered as a beam on Winkler's foundations, and the wheel traveling on railway track at constant speed is considered as a moving mass. Hertz's contact stiffness is assumed between the wheel and railway track. Numerical results are compared with experimental ones to verify the validity of the numerical method. The numerical method in found to be efficient to analyze this system. Based on the numerical simulation, the appropriate analysis range of the beam model and the characteristics of coupled vibration are discussed.

  • In this paper, main contents of the 'Design Guideline for Concrete Track of Urban Railway System(Proposition)' is summarized. The proposed guideline is based on the research result of domestic and foreign theories, and will be useful for engineers in field, operational agencies, and related institutions. In foreign countries where have advanced railway technologies, there are few established design guideline for concrete track for the time being. However, considering increase of demand and urgency of technology, it is obvious that the national, public and economic importance of the establishment of the 'Design Guideline for Concrete Track of Urban Railway System'.

  • The railway track and the substructures constructed in the field test section of Kyongbu High Speed Line are the structures for HSL, for the first time designed and constructed by domestic technical group. It is very important to verify the local design criteria and specifications for these structures and also to assure the recordings for vibration or deflection produced on the essential parts of the structures. The study to verify the high-speed railway track performance and to ensure the run in safety on the track in curved section during the KTX run. Finally, the conclusion are drawn as follows. The measuring values of the deflection effort of the rail and displacement for verifying the track performance in the field test section of Kyoungbu HSL satisfy the criteria of the foreign countries (Japan and Germany). The measured value for the wheel load and the presumed value show the consistent tendency. The wheel loads of the exterior and interior of the rails at the speed superior to 300km/h are measured same. Finally, the comparison between the theoretical value presented during the verification of the derailment to evaluate the safety of the train run at the time of the detailed design of the track and the measured value in the field shows that the correct design of track structure was applied.

  • The Study provides the technical background and calculation method f3r the long wave track defect. On high speed railway, It is necessary to manage the long wave band up to 80m track defect fur improving a riding quality. For this reason, Track recording methods for highspeed railway are used 10m and 30m recording bases, these are covered middle wave band and long wave band successfully. Extended base recording data is calculated by geometrical model and this data provides a good result for KTX riding index.

  • The structural analysis model for estimate of load carrying capacity of railway bridge on service line is important to determine safety of bridges in service, we need to take response of bridge exactly, applying analysis model similar to the real railway bridge most. Track structure which is to distribute loads and decrease vibrations occurred from running train is constructed on the railway bridges. And it is important factor which should be considered to understand exact dynamic and static responses of bridge. But track structure is currently classified as a none structural members in the structural analysis model for estimating load carrying capacity of railway bridge and not considered in analysis model. That's the reason it is difficult to understand exact behavior of bridges. Therefore, the major objective of this study is to develop an analytical track-bridge model which is similar to real railway bridges considering track structure for safety assessment of railway bridge on service line to be effectively done.

  • A reinforced concrete pedestrian tunnel is constructed under a four-track surface railway. Heavy rainfall and soil exposure to drying lead to soil with different water content throughout the year. A railway is an open utility that is subject to rainfall without control on the quantity of the water on it and when there is a tunnel under a railway, the water content of the soil around the tunnel is very influential. This research shows the effects of change of water content in the soil around a pedestrian tunnel under a four-track surface railway. The pedestrian tunnel and the soil block around the tunnel are modeled in 3D by the FEM and are studied under the vibrations induced by the moving trains on the four-track surface railway for different soil water contents and the effects of the soil water content on the dynamic behavior of the tunnel and the surrounding soil are demonstrated.

  • Present maintenance of a high speed railway is after the fack maintenance that executes a task when measured value goes over threshold value except some planned maintenance. It is difficult from efficient management of maintenance human resource and equipment commitment because it is difficult to predict quantity of maintenance targets. Corrective maintenance is pushed back on the repair priority of other target to need repair and it is exceeded repair cost potentially. For safety and dependable track management because track deterioration prediction is linked directly with track's life and safety of train service, it is very important that track management be based on preventive maintenance. In this study, we propose statistics model of track quality to use track inspection data and forecast model for track deterioration prediction.

  • Precise estimation f a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic response during life time especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. Especially, concrete track can change the modal properties of the railway bridge, through the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects, generally only the mass effect is considered in dynamic analysis of the railway bridge. In this paper, static and dynamic behaviors of railway bridge with concrete track were investigated through experimental study. Also, numerical analysis was performed about considering only mass of concrete track and together with stiffness and mass of concrete track. These were compared with experiment value. Numerical analysis value considering together with stiffness and mass of concrete track was similar experiment value. Therefore, when dynamic analysis of railway bridge with concrete track is performed, the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects for concrete track is considered.

  • This study is objected by analyzing whether it is applied to the analysis model considering the track stiffness or not when the railway bridge is designed or reviewed for the dynamic stability. It is performed that the analysis model is verified by comparing the field test result with the analysis result. Also, The dynamic response of railway bridge through the existing analysis model is compared with the analysis model considered the track stiffness. In addition, it is performed by analyzing the model considering the stiffness of concrete track. Therefore, this study is suggested that the design of railway bridge apply to the existing analysis model considering the mass of track and the dynamic stability review of railway bridge apply to it considered the stiffness & mass of track. Also, it is suggested that the stiffness of concrete slab on the bridge must consider when it is designed or checked over the dynamic stability.
