핀 부착 U형 복사튜브 버너의 열전달 및 연소성능 실험 (Heat Transfer and Combustion Characteristics and Performance of U type Radiation Tube Burner with fin)

  • Present study deals with combustion characteristics and performance of U type radiation tube burner with fin which combustion capacity is 30,000kcal/hr and the maximum capacity of supply fuel is $30Nm^{3}/hr$. Temperature difference of radiation tube is about $173^{\circ}C$ at 25% capacity and this show relatively small temperature difference for convenient type. Thermal efficiency is satisfactory as $72{\sim}81%$. Also, radiative efficiency of radiation tube is $52{\sim}73%$. The efficiency of heat exchanger is $27{\sim}37%$. Therefore, radiative efficiency is improved to $1{\sim}10%$ after installing fin.

  • Present study deals with combustion characteristics and performance of U type radiation tube burner which combustion capacity is 30,000kcal/he and the maximum capacity of supply fuel is $3.0N m^3/hr$. Temperature range of radiation tube is maximum $170^{\circ}C$ and minimum $150^{\circ}C$ and this displays relatively small temperature range. And thermal efficiency is satisfactory as $75{\sim}80%$. Also, radiative efficiency of radiation tube is $52{\sim}63%$.

복사전열 가열로 튜브의 파손방지에 대한 연구 (A Study on Failure Prevention of Radiant Heater Tube)

  • Radiant heater tubes with an inside burner are designed to transfer the heat generated from the burner to the outside of the tube by radiation. Hence, tube metal must suffer high temperature of approximately 900-$1000^{\circ}C$. The radiant tube is usually manufactured by centrifugal casting with high Ni-Cr alloys. In this study, failure analysis results of the radiant tube are reported. Failure mechanism of the tube was investigated by visual observation of the foiled tube, metallographic study of the cracked region and chemical analysis of tube metal and oxide scales. It was argued that the main cause of the cracking is repeated oxidation of the tube metal located beneath the thick oxide scale. Oxidation was caused by abnormally high operating temperature which can be verified by aged microstructure and internal void formation.

  • An experimental study was performed to investigate the effects of mixing quality, inlet pressure, nozzle diameter on CO emission and radiation characteristics in porous ceramic fiber radiant burners. Observations of combustion characteristics occurring inside the burner system which was insulated fiber mat, were investigated by measuring temperature, CO emission and radiation characteristics. Combustion was achieved at the firing rate of $88{\sim}99$ kcal/hr, inlet pressure of $100{\sim}250$mm$H_2O$. CO emissions were found to be strongly dependent on the operating conditions. There was a tendency that CO concentration increased as the firing rate increases. The reason for rise of CO concentration is that it becomes the relatively rich condition. The fiber burner exhibit significant both spectral intensity peaks in the bands at 2.5${\mu}m$ and 4.0${\mu}m$ relatively, There is a small difference in the variable mixing tube. However spectral intensity increased with the firing rate.

  • The oxygen concentration of primary oxidizer is decided under 10% due to flammable risk. It can be a spontaneous combustion inside burner or tube if the excess oxygen is added to primary oxidizer in Oxy-PC burner. In this case, the rest oxygen which can not be injected to primary oxidizer should be injected to another port. If added it to a second oxidizer, the ignition is unstable at outlet of burner. Accordingly an extra lancing port is needed to insert into the burner unlike other common air mode. And the flame formation and combustion characteristic differ from lancing port position. Therefore we observed flame formation which has stable combustion characteristic according to the shape and position of lancing port.

석탄화력 보일러 연소열성능 해석 : 온도와 열에너지 분포를 중심으로 (Computational Studies on the Combustion and Thermal Performance of the Coal Fired Utility Boiler : Temperature and Thermal Energy Distribution)

  • The pulverized coal combustion behavior in the coal fired utility boiler has been investigated with the CFD and process analysis techniques. The used commercial software were CFX and PROATES, and these were coupled each other to get more reliable boundary condition set-up, resulting in more reliable solution. For two cases which were the actual operation condition of A power plant, the calculated values from the coupled CFD and process analysis for thermal energy system were compared with the plant data, and the good agreements were obtained for Case 1 and 2. The calculated temperature distributions on the surface of heat exchangers were compared with the plant data for the steam temperatures across heat exchangers, and these explained the actual operating situation very well. The temperature deviation across the final superheater tube, which was believed to be the main cause of the frequent tube failure, were also explained very well with the calculated distributions of gas temperature and radiation on the plane of the final superheater.

개질관 내부 레이놀즈 수와 버너 온도에 따른 열유동 및 반응 특성 (Characteristics of Heat Transfer and Chemical Reaction in Reformer Tube for Fuel Reynolds Number and Burner Gas Temperature)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 촉매가 삽입된 단일 개질관 내 가스의 주입 속도와 버너의 고온공기 주입온도에 따른 3차원 전산 유체 해석(Fluent ver. 16.1)을 수행하여, 열유동 및 화학반응 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 개질관 내부 촉매는 니크롬 재질의 다공성 영역으로 가정하였다. 메탄-수증기 개질반응은 1000 K 이상의 고온 환경에서 작동하므로 전도, 대류 및 복사를 고려한 복합열전달을 해석했다. 수소 개질량을 비교하기 위한 두 개의 레이놀즈 수는 49,000과 88,000이고, 레이놀즈 수가 88,000인 경우, 고온공기의 온도를 각각 1100 K, 1200 K 및 1300 K로 설정하였다. 수치해석 결과, 레이놀즈 수가 낮을 경우 개질관 내부의 온도가 상승하였으며, 수소 개질량도 증가하였다. 레이놀즈 수가 높을수록 상대적으로 온도가 낮은 가스의 대류 열전달량이 증가하여 개질관 내의 온도는 낮아져 수소 개질량은 감소한다. 그리고 고온 공기의 온도가 높을수록 개질관 내부의 온도가 증가하므로, 수소 개질량도 증가한다.

연소진단용 이동형 광대역 코헤런트 반 스톡스 라만 분광기에 관한 연구 (Study on Mobile Broadband Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectrometer For Combustion Diagnostics)

  • We construct a mobile broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy system to measure the temperature of combustion gases. To improve the accuracy of CARS temperatures due to Stokes lasers, a modeless dye laser is constructed. A monochromator to disperse CARS spectra is also constructed in the spectrometer for easy portability. The accuracy of CARS temperature, measured in graphite tube furnace in reference to a radiation pyrometer, is better than 2 % from 1000 K to 2400 K. The CARS temperature error due to the variation of the spectral distribution of the modeless laser is measured to be less than 1.5 % during five hours operation. As a demonstration of combustion diagnosis, we applied the spectrometer to measure the temperature distribution of the propane air premixed flame.
