Actual maritime exercise for improving the capability of submarine sonar operator leads to a lot of cost and constraints. Sonar simulator maximizes the capability of sonar operator and training effect by solving these problems and simulating a realistic battlefield environment. In this study, a passive sonar simulator algorithm is suggested, where the simulator is divided into three modules: maneuvering module, noise source module, and sound propagation module. Maneuvering module is implemented in three-dimensional coordinate system and time interval is set as the rate of vessel changing course. Noise source module consists of target noise, ocean ambient noise, and self noise. Target noise is divided into modulated/unmodulated and narrowband/broadband signals as their frequency characteristics, and they are applied to ship radiated noise level depending on the vessel tonnage and velocity. Ocean ambient noise is simulated depending on the wind noise considering the waveguide effect and other ambient noise. Self noise is also simulated for flow noise and insertion loss of sonar-dome. The sound propagation module is based on ray propagation, where summation of amplitude, phase, and time delay for each eigen-ray is multiplied by target noise in the frequency domain. Finally, simulated results based on various scenarios are in good agreement with generated noise in the real ocean.

The military tactical vehicle currently being operated is manufactured by improving the parts of commercial vehicles. In addition, the power supply system is applied by installing a separate converter inside the communication room to secure the operating environment of communication equipment. On the other hand, due to electromagnetic radiation noise, there are problems in frequent noise and deterioration in communication sensitivity during wireless communication in vehicles. To improve these, an advanced power supply system is applied, which is also equipped with an alternator to receive power required for communication equipment reducing broadband electromagnetic radiation noise. An additionally installed alternator, which is located in the engine room, is separated from the communication room where communication equipment is operated and is expected to reduce the effect of electromagnetic radiation noise generated from the power supply system. To verify these, a broadband radiation test was performed on a previous and advanced one. As a result, the broadband radiation noise of vehicles with an applied advanced power supply system satisfied all of the domestic vehicle safety standards and reduced in most of the sections except for some frequencies compared to previous typed vehicles. In particular, broadband radiation noise was decreased by up to 10.751 dB𝜇V/m in the vertical sections in 170 to 200 MHz on the right side of the vehicle.
To develop the grain moisture meter using microwave free space transmission technique, a 10.5GHz microwave signal with the power of 11mW generated by an oscillar with a dielectric resonator is transmitted to an isolator and radiated from a transmitting $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna into the sample holder filled with the 12 to 26%w.b. of Korean Hwawung paddy rice. the microwave signal, attenuated through the grain with moisture, is collected by a receiving $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna and detected using a Shottky diode with excellent high frequency characteristic. A pair of light and simple microstrip patch array antenna for measurement of grain moisture content is designed and implemented on atenflon substrate with trleative dielectric constant of 2.6 and thickness of 0.54 by using Ensemble ver. 4.02 software. The aperture of microstrip patch arrays is 41 mm width and 24mm high. The characteristics of microstrip patch antenna such as grain. return loss, and bandwidth are 11.35dBi, -38dB and 0.35GHz($50^{\circ}$ at far-field pattern of E and H plane. The width of the sample holder is large enough to cover the signal between the antennas temperature and bulk density respectively. The calibration model for measurement of grain moisture content is proposed to reduce the effects of fluectuations in bulk density and temperature which give serious errors for the measurements . From the results of regression analysis using the statistically analysis method, the moisture content of grain samples (MC(%)) is expressed in terms of the output voltage(v), temperature (t), and bulk density of samples(${\rho}b$)as follows ;$$MC(%)\;=\;(-3.9838{\times}10^{-8}{\times}v^{3}+8.023{\times}10^{-6}{\times}v^{2}-0.0011{\times}v-0.0004{\times}t+0.1706){\frac{1}{{\rho}b}}{\times}100$ Its determination coefficient, standard error of prediction(SEP) and bias were found to be 0.9855, 0.479%w.b. and -0.0.369 %w.b. respectively between measured and predicted moisture contents of the grain samples.

Anchovy scoop nets, a kind of lift net have been used in the coastal area of Cheju and South sea of Korea. An incandescent lamp(AC 100V, 1kW) is being used as a fishing lamp for gathering anchovy. Fishing lamp was installed at 1m ahead of the prow and 1.5m higher than the water surface. The fishing lamp let fish school rise to the water surface and attract to bag net. Accordingly, a successful anchovy catching depends on controling of fishing lamp. On the study, the distribution of spectral irradiance illumination of incandescent lamp(1kw) and the irradiance efficiency of reflection plate were analyzed and discussed to investigate the ability of fishing lamp which can attract anchovy school effectively. The results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. Around 180% of irradiance efficiency of incandescent lamp was increased by using the reflection plate. The light of lamp was radiated into water with circular shape. 2. The irradiance illumination of incandescent lamp in air was a maximum in wave length of 994nm but it was 690nm at 0.5m and 1.0m of water depth. 3. The relationship between water depth(x) and water illumination(y) of vertical light is represented as follows : y=146.03e supper(-0.37x) 4. The light of incandescent lamp(1kW) pass through much better into vertical direction than horizontal but it was estimated that the light was not able to reach depth of 20m.
This paper analyzes the combustion diffusion pattern when a water purifier is artificially ignited outside and inside in order to provide data to examine the cause of fire of a water purifier damaged by fire. The analysis result of the combustion diffusion pattern of a water purifier shows that the combustion diffused at a higher speed when it was ignited inside the purifier than when ignited outside. It took approximately 360 seconds for the water purifier to be half-burned when ignited on the outside, and approximately 180 seconds when ignited from inside. That is, it is thought that the internal combustion speed is higher because the internal ignition causes the generated heat to be accumulated and radiated instantly. It was observed that the water purifier damaged by fire caused by external ignition showed a uniform carbonization pattern and the carbide burned down at the bottom were gradually deposited. The water purifier damaged by internal ignition showed a relatively clear boundary of carbonized surface, which formed a V-pattern. The difference in the combustion patterns presents an objective base from which to determine where the fire started. By the time the purifier was half-burned by fire, the built-in fuse had not melted and the power supply protection device did not operate. In addition, as was found in the case of the fuse damaged by a general fire, carbonization occurred at the metal holder, and it is thought that this fact may be used as a basis from which to determine the cause of a fire.
The one-year-follow-up test of abdomen/pelvis from 10 patients who were scanned more than twice a years were analyzed the radiation dose and image quality depend on the position of the arm retrospectively from January to December in 2013. There were classified two groups, group A was examined with raising an arm on standard position and group B was performed with lowering an arm, respectively. Group A of an average mAs from the first dose amount was shown 11.4% less compared to Group B. And the value of CTDI from Group B also was investigated 11.3% less. To compare the quality comparison of the second image as histogram value, the value of max from both of two groups was measured similarly. However, a big difference was shown from the value of min and SD, the short dose was appeared depends on the position of arm even though Group A was radiated more than Group B. Less exposure to the medical image quality only by working CT scan when the examiner actively raise the arm before the development and testing of high-end equipment introduction of complex algorithms for obtaining an optimized image will be provided to the patient.

The structures of sucker of two Cobiidae; Common freshwater goby and Triden goby were observed by light and electron microscopy. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the characteristic narrow ridges and grooves on the apical portion of sucker of Common freshwater goby, and hexagonal structures similar to a honeycomb representing the intercellular junctional area on the middle and basal portions. Some ridges were present on the epithelial surface on the middle and basal portions. The openings of several mucus-secreting cells were present between main epithelial cells. Light and transmission electron microscopy revealed the core of the fin; soft rays with a surrounding dense collagen fiber layer. Some loosely arranged fibers (collagen fiber) radiated toward the surface epithelium. The surface epithelium was cuboidal or columnar in shape. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the coiled irregular ridges and grooves, which was less developed and had sparser distribution than in Common freshwater goby, on the apical portion of sucker of Triden goby. The middle and basal portions had honeycomb structures as in Common freshwater goby. Fewer mucoussecreting cells were present. Light and transmission electron microscopy showed the core of soft rays, dense collagen fiber layer, however, the radiating fibers observed in the Common freshwater goby was rarely present. The sucker was thinner because the epithelium is squamous or polygonal in shape and rare presence of the radiating fibers.

Objectives: Although the side effects of radiation therapy vary from mucositis to osteomyelitis depending on the dose of radiation therapy, to date, an experimental animal model has not yet been proposed. The aim of this study was to develop an animal model for assessing complications of irradiated bone, especially to quantify the dose of radiation needed to develop a rat model. Materials and Methods: Sixteen Sprague-Dawley rats aged seven weeks with a mean weight of 267.59 g were used. Atraumatic extraction of a right mandibular first molar was performed. At one week after the extraction, the rats were randomized into four groups and received a single dose of external radiation administered to the right lower jaw at a level of 14, 16, 18, or 20 Gy, respectively. Clinical alopecia with body weight changes were compared and bony volumetric analysis with micro-computed tomography (CT), histologic analysis with H&E were performed. Results: The progression of the skin alopecia was different depending on the irradiation dose. Micro-CT parameters including bone volume, bone volume/tissue volume, bone mineral density, and trabecular spaces, showed no significant differences. The progression of osteoradionecrosis (ORN) along with that of inflammation, fibrosis, and bone resorption, was found with increased osteoclast or fibrosis in the radiated group. As the radiation dose increases, osteoclast numbers begin to decrease and osteoclast tends to increase. Osteoclasts respond more sensitively to the radiation dose, and osteoblasts are degraded at doses above 18 Gy. Conclusion: A standardized animal model clinically comparable to ORN of the jaw is a valuable tool that can be used to examine the pathophysiology of the disease and trial any potential treatment modalities. We present a methodology for the use of an experimental rat model that incorporates a guideline regarding radiation dose.
The ultrastructures of the fertilized egg envelope from Hyphessobrycon serpae belonging to Characidae was studied using scanning and transmission electron microscopes to get systematic fundamental data for classification of species and to confirm whether micropyle is a common trait of Characidae or not. The fertilized egg was of colorless, transparent, spherical, adhesive and demersal type. There were not oil droplets in vitelline membrane and attached structures in the outside of fertilize egg envelope. The egg envelope had a single micropyle resembling the pathway of sperm in the area of the animal pole. The micropyle was surrounded by 13 to 15 protruded lines of the egg envelope in a radiated form. The outer surface of fertilized egg envelope was covered by reticular adhesive fibrous structures and irregularly arranged by pore canals. The fertilized egg envelope consisted of three distinct layers an outer adhesive fibrous layer with high electron density, a middle layer with pore canals, and an inner layer consisting of 6 to 7 lamellae alternating layers with interlamellae of lower electron density. These ultrastructural characters of fertilized egg envelope form Hyphessobrycon serpae can be utilized in taxonomy of teleost, and as fundamental data for study on early development of fertilized egg. It seems that the morphology of micropyle is a common trait of Characidae

As ships become faster, larger and are required to meet higher standards, the importance of flow noise is highlighted. However, unlike in the aeroacoustics field for airplanes and trains (where flow noise is considered in design), acoustics are not considered in the marine field. In this study, analysis procedures for hull-induced flow noise are established to investigate the flow noise characteristics of a wave-piercing hull form that can negate the effect of wave-breaking. The principal mechanisms behind hull-induced flow noise are fluid-structure interactions between complex flows underneath the turbulent boundary layer and the hull. Noise induced by the turbulent boundary layer was calculated using wall pressure fluctuation and energy flow analysis methods. The results obtained show that noise characteristics can be distinguished by frequency range and hull region. Also, the low-frequency range is affected by hull forms such that it is correlated with ship speed.
