In this paper, temperature distributions in radial fin of hyperbolic profile for steady -state with no heat generation are obtained by one-dimensional analytical method, finite difference method and experiment respectively. Heat flow rate and fin efficiency from the fin model are obtained by analytical method. To compare the exact solutions obtained by theoretical analysis with the results obtained by finite difference method, cylindrical shape is selected. Particularly, equations of finite difference method for cylindrical shape with irregular boundary are rearranged and formulated. Consequently, temperature distributions in radial fin can certify that are similar to exact solutions. From theoretical analysis, the effects according to heat flow rate and fin efficiency are related to variation of parameters which are fin thickness ${\delta}_o$, fin base temperature $T_o$, thermal conductivity K with same basic dimensions and the fleets are studied and compared.
Numerical simulations on the onset and the growth of viscous fingering during the miscible displacement due to the radial source flow were conducted. With introduction of a new stability criterion, the critical log-viscosity ratio, Rc, was found as a function of the Peclet number, Pe. Similar to the previous linear stability analyses, Pe made the system unstable, i.e., accelerated the onset of instability. For a large Pe system, the present numerical simulation yielded much stable results than the previous theoretical predictions This discrepancy was commonly encountered in the comparison between the theoretical prediction and the experimental finding. Additionally, the difference between the rectilinear system and the present one was also discussed. The present system was found more insensitive to the Peclet number than the rectilinear one.

A tested turbine consists of two stages, and an axial-type and a radial-type turbine are applied to the first and second stage, respectively. The mean diameter of the axial-type turbine rotor is 70 mm, and the outer diameter of the radial-type turbine is 68mm at the inlet. In this experiment, an axial-type turbine, two different radial-type turbines, and three different nozzle flow angles are applied to find the optimal design parameters. To compare the turbine performance, the net specific output torque is evaluated. The test results show that the nozzle flow angle on the first stage is a more important parameter than other design parameters for partially admitted small turbines to obtain high operating torque. For a 3.4% partial admission rate, the net specific output torque is increased by 13% with the addition of a radial-type rotor to the second stage when the turbine operates at $75^{\circ}$ nozzle flow angle.
In this paper, multi-region based Radial Graph Convolutional Network (MRGCN) algorithm which can perform end-to-end action recognition using the optical flow and gradient of input image is described. Because this method does not use information of skeleton that is difficult to acquire and complicated to estimate, it can be used in general CCTV environment in which only video camera is used. The novelty of MRGCN is that it expresses the optical flow and gradient of the input image as directional histograms and then converts it into six feature vectors to reduce the amount of computational load and uses a newly developed radial type network model to hierarchically propagate the deformation and shape change of the human body in spatio-temporal space. Another important feature is that the data input areas are arranged being overlapped each other, so that information is not spatially disconnected among input nodes. As a result of performing MRGCN's action recognition performance evaluation experiment for 30 actions, it was possible to obtain Top-1 accuracy of 84.78%, which is superior to the existing GCN-based action recognition method using skeleton data as an input.
This analysis is aimed to find out how the conditions of secondary air injection affects the residence time and the turbulence energy of flue gas and flow field in a small incinerator. A commercial code, PHOENICS, is used to simulate the flow field of an Incinerator. The computational grid system is constructed in a cartesian coordinate system In this numerical experiment, an independent numerical variable is the conditions of secondary air injection and dependants are the residence time of flue gas and the mean value of turbulence energy in a primary combustion chamber. The flow field and the distribution of turbulence energy are analysed to evaluate the residence time of flue gas and the turbulence energy The computational results say that the tangential injection of secondary air make the residence time much longer than the radial injection and that the radial injection of secondary make turbulence much stronger than the tangential injection.

The aim of this study is to provide fundamental informations that make it possible to use a cool stream and a hot stream simultaneously. We changed the pressure of compressed air that flows into a tube, the inner diameter of orifice that a cold stream exits, and the mass flow rate ratio. And in each case, we measured the temperature of a cold stream and a hot stream in each exit of a tube. Also we measured the axial temperature distribution and the radial temperature distribution in internal space of a tube. From the study, following conclusive remarks can be made. Average flow rate that flows into a tube is in proportion to square root of inlet pressure. As inlet pressure increases axial and radial temperature distribution in the inner space of vortex-tube increase. As mass flow rate ratio change, separation point moves.

The effects of argon gas flow on the axial temperature gradient near the interface, the oxygen concentration,
and the radial oxygen uniformity was investigated for 8-inch CZ silicon growth. As argon flow rate was increased, the temperature gradient was increased in the crystal near the crystavmelt interface and the oxygen content in the crystal was decreased. But the radial oxygen uniformity was deteriorated. It was found that argon flow is one of the important growing parameters to affect the quality of crystals such as oxygen content and uniformity.
The paper deals with an analysis of an extrusion process with a divided material flow in a combined radial - backward extrusion. We have discussed the influences of tool geometry such as punch nose angle, relative gap height, die corner radius on material flow and surface expansion into can and flange region. To analyse the process, numerical simulations by the FEM and experiment by physical modeling using Al alloy as a model material have been performed. Based on the results, the influence of fixed parameters on the distribution of divided material flow and surface expansion are obtained.

Numerical simulation has been carried out to investigate the influence of radial temperature gradient on the Taylor Vortex flow. Varying the Grashof number, we study the detailed flow and temperature fields. The current numerical results show good agreement with the experimental results currently available. It turns out that wavy spiral vortices are generated by increasing temperature gradient. We classify flow patterns for various Grashof numbers based on the characteristics of flow fields and spiral vortices. The correlation between Grashof number with wave number shows that the spiral angle and size of Taylor vortices increase with increasing temperature gradient. Temperature gradient does not have a great influence on the heat transfer rate of the cylinder surfaces.

Eco-friendly gas turbine combustors are getting attention due to emission regulations. Swirler is important design factor for flame stability and flashback inside the combustor. Design methods of the axial swirler and the radial swirler were discussed and the suitability of the swirl number calculation considering the geometric design variables and the flow loss was examined in the radial swirl for gas turbine combustor. The swirl number of flow was calculated by computational fluid dynamics and compared with swirl number according to each design method.
