In order to investigate the effects of an electric field on EHD(Electro-hydrodynamic) nucleate boiling hat transfer characteristics in a nonuniform electric field under saturated pool boiling, the basic study has been performed experimentally. In the present study, the working fluid is R-113 and the plate-wire electrode system is used to generate a steep electric field gradient. Boiling parameters are investigated by using a high speed camera. The electric field distribution around a wire is obtained to understand the effect of an electric field on bubble departure/movement. The experimental results show EHD effects are much more considerable when the applied voltage increases. Bubbles depart away from the heated wire in radial direction. It is confirmed that the mechanisms of EHD nucleate boiling are closely connected with the dynamic behavior of bubbles. The boiling parameters are significantly changed by the electric field strength. With increasing applied voltages, the bubble size decreases and the nucleation site density, bubble velocity and bubble frequency increase.
In this paper, a new algorithm of optimal Volt/Var Control is proposed using Volt/Var control for the Distribution Automation System (DAS) with Distributed Generation (DG) based on the modeling of the distributed load and the distributed current. In the proposed, algorithm based on the modeling of the distributed load and the distributed current are estimated from constants of four terminals using the measurement of the current and power factor from a Feeder Remote Terminal Unit (FRTU) and DG data from RTU for DG. For the optimal Volt/Var Control, the gradient method is applied to find optimal solution for tap, capacity and power control of OLTC (On-Load Tap Changers), SVR (Step Voltage Regulator), PC (Power Condenser) and DG (Distributed Generation). In the case studies, the estimation and control of the voltages have been testified in a radial distribution system with DG using matlab program.
Spiral jet is characterized by a wide region of the free vortex flow with a steep axial velocity gradient, while swirl jet is largely governed by the forced vortex flow and has a very low axial velocity at the jet axis. However, detailed generation mechanism of spiral flow components is not well understood, although the spiral jet is extensively applied in a variety of industrial field. In general, it is known that spiral jet is generated by the radial flow injection through an annular slit which is installed at the inlet of a conical convergent nozzle. The present study describes a computational work to investigate the effects of annular slit on the spiral jet. In the present computation, a finite volume scheme is used to solve three dimensional Naver-Stokes equations with RNG ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model. The annular slit width and the pressure ratio of the spiral jet are varied to obtain different spiral flows inside the conical convergent nozzle. The present computational results are compared with the previous experimental data. The results obtained obviously show that the annular slit width and the pressure ratio of the spiral jet strongly influence the characteristics of the spiral jets, such as tangential and axial velocities.
This paper is concerned with Interval Type-2 Radial Basis Function Neural Network classifier realized with the aid of Census Transform(CT) and (2D)2LDA methods. CT is considered to improve performance of face recognition in a variety of illumination variations. (2D)2LDA is applied to transform high dimensional image into low-dimensional image which is used as input data to the proposed pattern classifier. Receptive fields in hidden layer are formed as interval type-2 membership function. We use the coefficients of linear polynomial function as the connection weights of the proposed networks, and the coefficients and their ensuing spreads are learned through Conjugate Gradient Method(CGM). Moreover, the parameters such as fuzzification coefficient and the number of input variables are optimized by Artificial Bee Colony(ABC). In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed classifier, Yale B dataset which consists of images obtained under diverse state of illumination environment is applied. We show that the results of the proposed model have much more superb performance and robust characteristic than those reported in the previous studies.
Determination of Aconitum alkaloids in processed Buza (Cho-0, Salted Buza, Moist-heating Buza, Limed Buza), which had been prepared from the raw tubers of Aconitum chiisanenseb(Ranunculaceae), was established using visible spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method especially for Aconitine analysis. Aconitum alkloids were reacted with tetra- thiocy-anatocobalt[II] complex ion to form a stable ion pair. The reaction product was insoluble in water but freely soluble in several organic solvents. 1.2-Dichloroethane was the best extracting solvent among the examined solvents. Spectrophotometry of Aconitum alkaloids at nax. 625 was carried out. The HPLC method for aconitine was carried out using Radial PAK-CN column with gradient solvent system by solvent mixture of acetonitrile and phosphate buffer (pH 3.0) at 4$0^{\circ}C$ and 254 nm. Linear relationship was found between absorbance response and concentration of aconitine in range of 0.45 mM~0.9 mM ($r^2$=0.9949) by spectrophotometry and 0.3 mM~1.2mM($r^2$=0.9983) by HPLC method. These methods have been found to be suitable and reproducible for routine analysis of Aconitum alkaloids and its pharmaceutical preparations.

The strength assessment is the most important part at the design of ice-class propeller. Based on ice rules for ice-class propeller in IACS URI3 and FEM, the strength assessment method of ice-class propeller is established in this paper. To avoid the multifarious meshing process of propeller blade, an automatic meshing method has been developed by dividing the propeller geometry into a number of 8-node hexahedron elements along radial, chordwise and thickness directions, then the loaded areas in five cases can easily be calculated and identified. The static FEM is applied to calculate the stress and deformation of propeller blade. The fair agreements between the results of the present method and ANSYS/Workbench demonstrate its robust and the feasibility, and also the method is able to produce smooth gradient field. The blade stress and deformation distributions for five load cases are studied, and then the strength of the whole blade is checked.

Understanding how the filamentary structure affects the formation of the prestellar cores and stars is a key issue to challenge. We use the Heterodyne Array Receiver Program (HARP) of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) to obtain molecular line mapping data for two prestellar cores in different environment, L1544 in filamentary cloud and L694-2 in a small cloud isolated. Observing lines are $^{13}CO$ and $C^{18}O$ (3-2) line to find possible flow motions along the filament, $^{12}CO$ (3-2) to search for any radial accretion (or infalling motions) toward the cores of gas material from their surrounding regions, and $HCO^+$ (4-3) lines to find at which density and which region in the core gases start to be in gravitational collapse. In the 1st moment maps of $^{13}CO$ and $C^{18}O$, velocity gradient patterns implying the flow of material were found at the cores and its surrounding filamentary clouds. The infall asymmetry patterns of HCO+ and $^{13}CO$ line profiles were detected to be good enough to analyze the infalling motions toward the cores. We will report further analysis results on core formation in the filamentary cloud at this meeting.

An analytical solution is presented to analyze the thermoelastoplastic response of a rotating thick-walled cylindrical pressure vessel made of functionally graded material (FGM). The analysis is based on Tresca's yield condition, its associated flow rule and linear strain hardening material behaviour. The uncoupled theory of thermoelasticity is used, and the plane strain condition is assumed. The material properties except for Poisson's ratio, are assumed to vary nonlinearly in the radial direction. Elastic, partially plastic, fully plastic, and residual stress states are investigated. The heat conduction equation for the one-dimensional problem in cylindrical coordinates is used to obtain temperature distribution in the vessel. It is assumed that the inner surface is exposed to an airstream and that the outer surface is exposed to a uniform heat flux. Tresca's yield criterion and its associated flow rule are used to formulate six different plastic regions for a linearly hardening condition. All these stages are studied in detail. It is shown that the thermoelastoplastic stress response of a rotating FGM pressure vessel is affected significantly by the nonhomogeneity of the material and temperature gradient. The results are validated with those of other researchers for appropriate values of the system parameters and excellent agreement is observed.
In this paper, the free and forced vibration analysis of rotating cantilever nanoscale cylindrical beams and tubes is investigated under the external dynamic load to examine the nonlocal effect. A couple of nonlocal strain gradient theories with different beams and tubes theories, involving the Euler-Bernoulli, Timoshenko, Reddy beam theory along with the higher-order tube theory, are assumed to the mathematic model of governing equations employing the Hamilton principle in order to derive the nonlocal governing equations related to the local and accurate nonlocal boundary conditions. The two-dimensional functional graded material (2D-FGM), made by the axially functionally graded (AFG) in conjunction with the porosity distribution in the radial direction, is considered material modeling. Finally, the derived Partial Differential Equations (PDE) are solved via a couple of the generalized differential quadrature element methods (GDQEM) with the Newmark-beta techniques for the time-dependent results. It is indicated that the boundary conditions equations play a crucial task in responding to nonlocal effects for the cantilever structures.
Some researchers pointed out that the nonlocal cantilever models do not predict the dynamic softening behavior for nanostructures (including nanobeams) with clamped-free (CF) ends. In contrast, some indicate that the nonlocal cantilever models can capture the stiffness softening characteristics. There are substantial differences on this issue between them. The vibration analysis of porosity-dependent functionally graded nanoscale tubes with variable boundary conditions is investigated in this study. Using a modified power-law model, the tube's porosity-dependent material coefficients are graded in the radial direction. The theory of nonlocal strain gradients is used. Hamilton's principle is used to derive the size-dependent governing equations for simply-supported (S), clamped (C) and clamped-simply supported (CS). Following the solution of these equations by the extended differential quadrature technique, the effect of various factors on vibration issues was investigated further. It can be shown that these factors have a considerable effect on the vibration characteristics. It also can be found that our numerical results can capture the unexpected softening phenomena for cantilever tubes.
