A Study on the Development of Digital Output Load Cell (계량설비용 디지탈 출력 로드셀의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the design and development of a smart digital load cell used forweighing installations. Sice the load cell sensor to be used is very sensitive for weight cariation, the load cell must have the temperature stability, low-drift and the high-resolution of the A/D conversion for accuracy. A new analog circuit which is controlled by one chip micro-processer has been developed to reduce the offset voltage and the drift characteristics of operational amplifiers, and has been adapted into the digital load cell. Also, a software algorithm has been developed to obtain the stable and accurate A/D conversion. This software includes a RS-485 communication program to control the digital load cell, which gives a capability of backing-up the calibration data and transferring control data. The simulation and evaluation of the designed digital load cell has been shown as having the good performance. which will give useful application to the weighing installations as a remote weighing sensor.

  • IIoT applies IoT to industrial sites to monitor factors such as production, manufacturing, and safety, and it is a solution that allows the worker to easily manage the site. An important technology element in this IIoT is a technology that collects information on industrial sites and delivers reliable information to managers using sensors. Therefore, general industrial sites use wired network methods such as Ethernet and RS485 to deliver information. However, there are limitations to the problem of infrastructure costs and to the wide range of line constructions in network deployment. Therefore, in this paper, the network of IEEE 802.15.4 Ad-Hoc wireless sensors is deployed on production lines with machine tools. In addition, we describe the routing method considering machine tool layout and sensor node failure detection algorithm.

  • In SCADA systems, an RTU is a device installed at a remote location that collects data, codes the data into a format that is transmittable and transmits the data back to a central station, or MTU. An RTU also collects information from the master device and implements processes that are directed by master device. RTUs are equipped with input channels for sensing or metering, output channels for control, indication or alarms and a communications port. In general, the data are transmitted via a wired communication infrastructure such as RS422 or RS485 between RTU and MTU. But, limited range of wired communication doesn't allow the system to cover remote areas over the limitation, and building a wired communication network is not easy in the circumstances. In this Paper, we design and implement a smart cost-effective Web-RTU that can communicate with MTU via Web. Web is of benefit to the Web-RTU, because it is not only free from the distance limitations, but also is built easily and cost-effectively wherever Internet resources are available. Additionally, Web can be easily applied to the SCADA system with the development of hardware and software for communications. The Web-RTU has a program memory, a data memory and a RAM inside, and uses Atmega128, low-cost 8 bit micro-processor with eight AI(Analog Input). It performs well enough to implement all existing roles of RTU.

  • 최근 국내 신재생에너지설비의 설치가 급증하고 있다. 전국적으로 신재생에너지원의 설비가 산재되어 있음에도 불구하고 관리 및 운영 시스템은 미비한 수준이다. 따라서 사후관리 체계 구축과 설비 이용률 향상을 목적으로 가동현황을 파악하여, 신재생에너지원의 효율적인 관리와 통합 운영을 위한 시스템이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 통신 및 모니터링 기술기준에 제정된 공용규격에 따라 다수의 계측기와 데이터를 수집, 변환, 저장하고, 중앙서버로 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하여 더욱 효율적인 신재생에너지원의 운영을 돕는다. 본 시스템은 신재생에너지원의 계측기와 RS-232 혹은 RS-485를 이용한 하위통신을 하여 관리에 사용될 여러 정보를 수집하여 저장한다. 상위통신으로 PIRP(Platform Independent Reporting Protocol)에 맞는 데이터로 변환하여 중앙서버에 데이터를 보내게 된다. 또 한, 유저가 원한다면 중앙서버에서 과거의 데이터를 획득할 수 있도록 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • In this paper a remote monitoring and control system using Modem for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is proposed. The conventional remote monitoring system for UPS is used to local remote monitoring system by RS232 or RS485 communication code. But recently. the system is changed to wide remote monitoring and control system using Modem for quick analysis of errors, correction of errors, report of errors and other user-friendly functions. In this study, we designed and develope system which is able to control UPS an monitor errors, statuses, actual values transmitted from UPSs of each site.

  • Recently, NMEA2000 became the de facto standard of the communication protocol for the instrument level network in vessels, and it is anticipated that most of the vessels will be equipped with the sensors and actuators based on this protocol. The conventional serial communication specifications such as RS-232, RS-485, or even NMEA0183 are single-talker/multiple-listener and interconnection among multiple sensors and/or actuators usually results in a bundle of wires. On the other hand, NMEA2000 is a true bus type(multiple-talker/multiple-listener) protocol and theoretically up to 256 instruments can be hot-plugged. With the advent of the protocol, it is necessary to consider a new type of monitoring system for the instruments in vessels: In most traditional serial communication environments, a dedicated monitor or user interface was necessary for each sensor or actuator as it was simply not easy to collect data in a single place. With NMEA2000, the collection of various types of information is simple. An embedded system can be employed to combine, to arrange and to display informations from various types of devices. Assuming that the actuators and sensors on a vessel are interconnected by NMEA2000 standard, we devise a tentative interactive vessel monitoring system in which the following 4 kinds of informations are collected and delivered: the navigation, engine, weather and tanks informations.

Design of Force Measuring System for Deburring Using Industrial Robot (산업용로봇을 이용한 디버링을 위한 힘측정시스템 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of the force measuring system for an industrial robot's deburring work. The force measuring system is composed of a three-axis force sensor, a measuring device, a housing and a cover. The three-axis force sensor can detect x-direction force, y-direction force and z-direction force at the same time. The measuring device is designed using DSP(Digital Signal Processor), and have a RS-232 and a RS-485 communication port for sending force data to PC or other controller. As a result of test, the repeatability error and the non-lineality error of the three-axis force sensor are less than 0.03%, and the interference error of the sensor is less than 0.95%. It is thought that the force measuring system can be used for an industrial robot's deburring work.

  • 최근 지하철이나 버스 등의 교통수단을 이용하기 위해 지불방식의 편리, 지연시간의 단축 등 효율성이 높은 비접촉식 카드를 많이 사용하고 있다. 이러한 비접촉식 스마트 카드를 인증하기 위해서는 스마트카드ID가 스마트카드 단말기 내부에 저장하고 있어야 하며, 스마트카드ID가 변경될 때마다 서버으로부터 전송받아 최신의 정보로 갱신되어야 한다. 교통시스템에서 사용되는 통신매체는 RS-485를 사용하여 38.5Kbps로 통신하고 있고, 그로인해 스마트카드ID를 전송할 때 시간이 많이 소모되고, 스마트카드ID를 전승하는 동안에는 스마트카드 단말기의 사용이 제한되고 있어 단말기가 사용되지 않는 시간에 전송하고 있다. 이러한 교통시스템의 환경에서 점점 더 많아지고 있는 대량의 데이터를 스마트카드 단말기에 빠르게 전송하기 위해 스마트카드ID의 특성을 이용한 인코딩 기법을 적용하여 스마트카드ID의 크기를 줄여 전송함으로써 전송시간을 줄이는 방법을 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, a novel high-voltage motor monitoring system (HVMMS) is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD). Sensor, EMC (Epoxy-Mica Coupler) is used for PD measurement PD signals are continuously measured and digitized with a peak-hold A/D converter to build the database of the high-voltage motor's insulation condition. Also, this system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the generator.

  • In this paper a protocol design for bus network communication between onboard signalling system and MMI(Man Machine Interface) will be presented and illustrated. Recently, many onboard signailling systems adopt hot standby for safety reasons. Hot standby is a method of redundancy in which the primary and secondary systems run simultaneously. It is convenient to use bus network(bus topology) in a hot standby system for communication between onboard signalling system and MMI. Because bus network is the simplest way to connect multiple clients such as onboard signalling system, MMI and etc. However, there are many problems when two clients want to transmit at the same time on the same bus. A effective protocol is necessary to solve that problems. We will describes protocol design which is useful when onboard signalling systems and MMIs are connected via RS485(Bus Network).
