One- and Two-dimensional Hydraulic Characteristics at Confluence by Embankment Construction of Meandered Channel (사행하천 제방설치에 따른 합류부 1차원 및 2차원 수리특성)

  • 1차원 수치해석망은 수위관측소와 우량관측소를 경계로 광역모형을 구성하고 HEC-RAS를 이용하여 부정류 해석을 실시하였다. 그 결과로 얻은 유량과 수위자료는 2차원 해석 모형인 RMA-2의 경계조건으로 적용하였다. 또한 수치지형도를 이용하여 2차원 격자망을 구성하고 RMA-2를 적용하여 수리특성을 분석하였다. 광역모형의 구성에 의한 HEC-RAS 부정류 해석 결과 제방설치 전과 후의 수리특성의 변화는 그리 크게 나타나지 않았다. 또한 RMA-2 해석 결과 계획홍수량 초과하는 홍수에서 대상유역에서 제방설치 전과 후의 변화는 통수단면적의 감소에 따른 빠른 흐름과 수위의 변화를 가져왔으나 그 크기는 현저하지 않음을 보여준다.

  • 본 연구에서는 만곡하천에서 본류와 지류의 합류각에 따른 수치모의 결과를 이용하여 합류부에서의 유속변화를 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 적용대상지역은 조양강과 용탄천 합류부로서, 만곡하천에 지류가 합류하며 유량이 적은 지류의 합류부에서 유속변화가 나타나는 지역이다. 합류부에서의 지류의 합류각에 따른 유속변화량을 알아보기 위하여 지류의 합류각을 $30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ},\;90^{\circ},\;120^{\circ}$로 바꾸어 수치모의를 실시하였고, 수치모의는 상용 2차원 수치모형인 RMA-2를 이용하였다. 합류부에서 지류의 합류각이 커짐에 따라 합류점의 유속이 느려지고, 유속이 감소하는 범위가 넓어짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • The water quality at the Dongbin Harbor at Pohang city, is getting worse due to the sewage and the wastewater from communities. In this syudy, RMA2 and RMA4, which is two-dimensional depth-averaged finite element numerical model, were employed to simulate the improvement of water quality from inflowing water through an inland canal to be planned connecting Dongbin Harbor and the Hyeongsan River. For the comparative result of the numerical model, both the present condition and the restoration condition (after construction of an inland canal) is simulated. The results of these conditions reasonably simulate a real situation at the Dongbin Harbor. After construction of an inland canal, the water quality at the Dongbin Harbor will be compared to the fresh water quality of the Hyeongsan River at the steady state. Futhermore, The result of simulation will be used to decide the most effective dimension of the canal.

  • In this study, in order to find the movement of polluted substance that is flown into the river and the characteristics of dispersion, the experiment that used the RI (Radioactive Isotope) tracer in the river was undertaken, and by using the experiment result, the figure modelling was undertaken to analyze the general type of pollutant dispersion. In addition, in order to calculate more accurate dispersion range and moving time, the experiment was done in about 2km from the measuring points of Namdae Stream around the Yongdam Dam of the upper Geum River to the lower stream. In order to find out the flow of river and dispersion of polluted substance, RMA (Resource Modeling Associates)-2 and RMA-4 program are used in study. The site experiment using the RI was implemented for the experiment in the applied area and the same area, and the distance between each zone was set for 1km with the slight difference for site situation and measured the density date of one second distance through the NaI apparatus to measure the density data of one second interval. On the basis of this measured data, it is compared and analyzed with the result of figure copy of the models to make the comparison and analysis of density distribution following the change in expansion coefficient that makes great influence on expansion range and dispersion in natural rivers.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the hydraulic behavior in a stream reach using SMS RMA-2 model with a series of dynamic boundary conditions of main stream and lateral flows simulated by WMS HEC-1 program. For the stream reach (10.5 km) between Gongdo and Pyeongtaek water level gauge stations of Anseongcheon, the model simulated two dimensional flow characteristics by applying dynamic flow conditions of rainfall frequencies of 50, 100, 500, and 1,000 years for the main stream and three tributaries. The temporal flow behavior successfully simulated and the results showed that the distribution of mean velocity and water level within the stream reach increased according to the increase of flow frequency. Especially, the flow velocity sensibly increased at the near downstream of lateral inflow as the width of main stream is narrower.

Sensitivity Analysis of RMA2 Model Parameter Variation with Hydraulic Characteristics of Stream Junction Area (하도 합류부의 수리학적 특성을 고려한 RMA2 모형 매개변수의 민감도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the sensitivity of the RMA2 model parameters reflecting the flow characteristics of stream junction and thus understand the hydraulic characteristics of the channel confluence flow. This study dealt with the input parameters of the RMA-2 model, a two-dimensional numerical analysis model widely used for researches both at home and abroad. The parameters of the RMA-2 model are roughness coefficient, turbulent diffusion coefficient, Coriolis forces latitude, Density, and mesh size. This study those parameters estimated from actual heavy rainfall, and varied the parameter size by (-)30%${\sim}$+30% to review the characteristics of the flow characteristics of the channel section. Weobserved that when the ratio of the channel width was relatively small, the smaller the approaching angle was, the farther from the junctions became the generating place of the maximum flow velocity, however, when the ratio of the channel width was relatively large, the larger the approaching angle was, the farther the generating place of the maximum flow velocity from the junctions became. In particular, the distance between junctions and the place where the maximum flow velocity generated showed an absolute correlationover 90% of the relative channel width, but an inverse relationwas found when the distance to the place where the flow velocity generated was shortened as relative the channel width between the main channel and tributary increased.

  • An estuary is very important that the seawater and the freshwater meet and they formed wide foreshore and estuarine which is used as the habitat of various living thing and spawning bed of fish. Masan bay is typical closing bay in Korea. It is located 9 km from the open sea and most inside of Jinhae bay. The width of bay entrance is less than 1 km, where the flow velocity is very low. The large scale industrial complex of Masan bay is located in near Masan and Changwon city whose population is about 100 million. Because of low tidal velocity, the pollutants from the land are accumulated, which makes the water quality worse in Masan bay. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various hydraulic characteristics using RMA-2 model. The advection and diffusion of pollutant is also simulated using RMA-4 model according to the inflow of Changwon-stream and Nam-stream. The hydraulic simulations include the effect of tide which can be characterized by the tide data of Masan bay tide observatory.

  • A numerical model of flow velocity in the standing water system is presented. This model(RMA-2), based on the 2-dimensional unsteady momentum and continuity equations, uses finite element techniques to simulate the distribution of velocity over a spatial location of lakes. The present model represents an improvement over existing numerical water quality models in that it can model the unsteady state and can, therefore, cope with time with a spatial location of standing waters such as lakes and large reservoirs. The model thus allows the engineer to do more accurate estimation of water flows and thus water qualities in standing waters where directions and velocities of the flow become more important for the simulation of the water quality than in running waters. Tests for the data collected in the lake "Paldang" indicates that the model works well under limited circumstances. However, to be more accurate estimation of velocity with the present model, accumulation of data for the measurement of velocities and renovation of geometrical conditions of the lake would be needed.

  • 현재까지 우리나라에서 주로 사용되고 있는 2차원 흐름 해석모형은 미연방 도로국(U.S. Federal Highway Administration)과 연계하여 Brigham Young University에서 개발된 SMS(Surface-Water Modeling System) 모형이다. SMS모형 중 이송 확산 모형으로는 RMA-4가 포함되나 이 모형은 최신 수치기법을 반영하지 못하는 등의 문제점들로 인해 실제 물리적 현상 모의에 있어서 한계를 가지고 있다. 따라서 물리적 현상에 대한 적절한 모의를 위한 개선과정을 통하여 RAM4가 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 현장실측 자료를 바탕으로 RMA-4와의 모의결과 비교를 통하여 오염 확산 해석모형인 RAM4의 적용성을 검증하고자 하였다. RAM4와 RMA-4 모의에 있어서 격자구성과 경계조건은 동일하게 설정하였으며, 유량조건은 평수량과 갈수량으로 선정하였다. 각각의 유량시 수위조건이 틀려지므로 각 유량조건에 대한 격자구성을 달리하였다. 모의구간은 낙동강 본류의 수산대교에서 삼랑진 철교까지의 약 13km 구간을 대상으로 하였다. 모의 구간내에는 밀양-하남 하수처리장이 상류 좌안측에 위치하고 있고, 만곡, 단면의 축소 및 확대, 하중도, 합류 등의 지형학적 특징들이 비교적 짧은 구간에 나타나고 있어 모형의 검증에 적합하다고 판단된다.

A Study on the Contaminant Transport Characteristics in Han River (한강 하류부에서의 오염물질의 거동특성 연구)

  • This study is to analyze and predict the contaminant transport based on the hydrauli characteristics using 2-dimensional finite element model. The dynamic wate quality model. RMA-4. is used to predict the contaminant transport using the hydrulic characteristics obtained from RMA-2v model. The study region is from downstream of Cham-sil weir to upstream of Shin-Kok weir. From the results of contaminant transport analysis. it is shown that the variations of discharge and velocity give quite large effect to the transport and dispersion of contaminant material. and that the water qualities of Joong-Rang and Tan streams play an important role to the downstream also. when the incidental contaminant accident occurs and contaminant material moves to the downstream. it is resulted the decreasing of the maximum COD and the increasing of the duration time to be affected by contaminant. Finally. 2-dimensional analysis is required in the case of large river like Han River. since the large difference of contaminant concentration has been investigated in the left and right bank.
