This study was conducted in order to determined the risk factors and general characteristics in stroke patients. This study was performed by interviewing a total of 92 hospitalized in Hanil hospital, Chinju and Eulji Medical Collage Hospital, Taejon from January 1, 1998 to February 28, 1999. The results are as follow; 1. Of the types of the strokes, hemorrhagic was 58.8%, ischemic was 41.1%. 2. The family history was appeared to 72.2% of total and did not exercise 64.1% of male and 59.5% of female during weak. 3. The korean peoples as the likes rather Chinese medicine and folk remedy than Wes-ern medicine so late treatment of early stage. 4. Generally, in drinking, smoking, fatness and overeating meat known to affect on stroke both male and female had signification difference. 5. These 75.5% of the subjects was recognizing to necessity of physical therapy.

Wearable robots are receiving great attention from the public, as well as researchers, because its motivation is to improve the quality of lives of people. Above all, complete paraplegic patients due to spinal cord injury (SCI) might be the most adequate target users of the wearable robots, because they definitely need physical assistance due to the complete loss of muscular strength and sensory functions. Furthermore, the medical care of complete paraplegics by using the wearable robots have significantly reduced the mortality rate and improved the life expectancy. The requirements of the wearable robot for complete paraplegics are actuation torque, locomotion speed, wearing sensation, robust gait stability, safety, and practicality (i.e., size, volume, weight, and energy efficiency). A WalkON Suit is the wearable robot that has satisfied the requirements of the wearable robot for complete paraplegics and participated in the powered exoskeleton race of Cybathlon 2016. In this paper, configuration of the WalkON Suit, human-machine interface, gait pattern, control algorithm, and evaluation results are introduced.

The hamstring muscle injury is a quite common sports injury which has a wide spectrum of treatment option that simple muscle strain can be treated conservatively otherwise total rupture of muscle or musculotendinous junction must be treated surgically. Among them, rupture of proximal hamstring muscle near at its origin site is quite uncommon and it should be treated surgically because it could cause several complications if not treated appropriately. In this case report, the authors report successful surgical treatment of acute rupture of proximal hamstring muscle and also would like to review the clinical presentation of this type of injury.

The purpose of this study is to provide the effective internet marketing communication strategy as marketing tools by analyzing the web sites of young casual fashion brands. We've selected 19 young casual fashion brands in 3 department stores and made the classification standard - advertising, promotion, public relation(PR), customer management - and analysed the young casual fashion brands according to 4 classification standard on the web sites. As a result of study, it is found that 19 young casual brands' web sites put an emphasis on activity of customer management and promotion in general. However, they did not conduct the PR and advertising actively compared with other parts. Especially, the promotion strategy occupies more parts than any other parts through the variety of membership card's services. Also they are sending e-mails or providing 1:1(FAQ/Q&A) board to the members as a customer management to be able to help to communicate with customer through the web site.

We report a case of trisomy 22 in a liveborn male infant which was confirmed by fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH), macrocultures and GTG-banding, and RHA-banding procedures of peripheral white blood cells. The infant showed lung hypoplasia, which is a unique presentation, with other clinical manifestations of previously reported cases of trisomy 22, such as intrauterine growth retardation, cleft palate, micrognathia, large atrial septal defect, limb anomalies, imperforate anus, and hypospadias. Our report gives weight to the previously reported observation that pulmonary hypoplasia may be associated in trisomy 22.

Many proteins consist of distinctive domains that can act independently or cooperatively to achieve a unique function. As these domains evolve from a naturally existing repertoire of functional domains, this implies that domain organization is an intrinsic element involved in building the complex structure and function of proteins. Thus, identifying functional domains would appear to be critical to the elucidation of questions related to protein evolution, folding, and the engineering of hybrid proteins for tai- lored applications. However, the simple application of "Lego-like assembly" to the engineering of hybrid proteins is an oversimplification, as many hybrid constructs lack structural stability, usually due to unfavorable domain contacts. Thus, directed evolution, along with computational studies, may help to engineer hybrid proteins with improved physico-chemical properties. Accordingly, this paper introduces several approaches to functional hybrid protein engineering that potentially can be used to create modulators of gene transcription and cell signaling, and novel biosensors to analyze biological functions in vivo.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the radiological charactersitics related to the formation of peritumoral edema in meningiomas. Methods: Fifty patients with meningioma were examined by magnetic resonance images and cerebral angiography. The predictive factors associated peritumoral edema, such as, tumor size, peritumoral rim (cerebrospinal fluid cleft), shape of tumor margin, signal intensity of tumor in T2WI, and pial blood supply were evaluated. Results: Tumor size, peritumoral rim and pial blood supply correlated with peritumoral edema on univariate analyses. But in multivariate analyses, pial blood supply was statistically significant as a factor for peritumoral edema in meningioma. Conclusion: In our results, pial blood supply is significant contributing factor for peritumoral edema in meningioma.

This study was performed to evaluate the effect of commercial swine mycoplasma vaccine (M+$Pac^{(R)}$, Schering-Plough Animal HealthCo.) at different vaccination time points. Total 139 piglets were moved to experimental farm after weaning and were randomly allocated to 3 treatment groups and 1 control group. Piglets of 3 treatment groups (A, B and C) were vaccinated twice at 1 and 3 weeks (A group), 3 and 5 weeks (B), and 6 and 8 weeks (C), respectively. All vaccinates showed higher antibody titers compared with nonvaccinates, and maintained to finish (P<0.001). Performance and RBC/WBC count showed no significant difference between groups. Vaccinates at 6-8 weeks showed better effect on decrease of clinical sign compared with vaccinates at 1-3 weeks and 3-5 weeks and nonvaccinates. Also, lung lesion assessment showed significant difference between vaccinates at 3-5 weeks and 6-8 weeks, and nonvaccinates and vaccinates at 1-3 weeks (P<0.05). Vaccinates at 3-5 score in comparison with other groups. In conclusion, these results suggested that vaccination at 3-5 weeks or later may be more effective than earlier vaccination.

A fluorine-doped diamond-like carbon (F-DLC) stamp which has high contact angle, high UV-transmittance and sufficient hardness, was fabricated using the following direct etching method: F-DLC is deposited on a quartz substrate using DC and RF magnetron sputtering, PMMA is spin coated and patterned using e-beam lithography and finally, $O_2$ plasma etching is performed to transfer the line patterns having 100 nm line width, 100 nm line space and 70 nm line depth on F-DLC. The optimum fluorine concentration was determined after performing several pre-experiments. The stamp was applied successfully to UV-NIL without being coated with an anti-adhesion layer.

We experienced 1 case of the giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath penetrating the middle phalanx of the third toe. Patient had painless huge mass all around the third phalanx of the foot which made a penetrating hole through the middle phalanx of the third toe in plain radiography. The period from the onset of the symptom until operation was about several years. The mass extended to the base of the distal phalanx and compressed digital nerves and vessels. Patient presented with a chief complaint of the pain on the plantar aspect of the toe and limitation of the motion of the distal interphalangeal joint. Giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath was cured by total en block resection.
