  • When retrieving voluminous capacity of video image data, it is necessary to provide synopsized frame lists of video image data for indexing and replaying at the exact point where the user want to retrieve. We apply Mean Squared Error method to extract certain pixel value from diagonal direction of a frame. The RGB value of a pixel extracted from each frame is saved in a matrix form, and this frame is retrievedas a scene change point if the compared value of two points met the certain condition. Also implement the algorithm and provide a way to seize entire structure of video image and the point of scene changes. finally, we analyze and prove that our method has better performance compared with the others.

  • In this paper, we propose an image generator for OLED panel test that can compensate for color coordinates and luminance by using panel defect inspection and optical measurement while displaying images on OLED panel. The proposed image generator consists of two processes: the image generation process and the process of compensating color coordinates and luminance using optical measurement. In the image generating process, the panel is set to receive the panel information to drive the panel, and the image is output by adjusting the output setting of the image generator according to the panel information. The output form of the image is configured by digital RGB method. The pattern generation algorithm inside the image generator outputs color and gray image data by transmitting color data to a 24-bit data line based on a synchronization signal according to the resolution of the panel. The process of compensating color coordinates and luminance using optical measurement outputs an image to an OLED panel in an image generator, and compensates for a portion where color coordinates and luminance data measured by an optical module differ from reference data. To evaluate the accuracy of the image generator for the OLED panel test proposed in this paper, Xilinx's Spartan 6 series XC6SLX25-FG484 FPGA was used and the design tool was ISE 14.5. The output of the image generation process was confirmed that the target setting value and the simulation result value for the digital RGB output using the oscilloscope matched. Compensating the color coordinates and luminance using optical measurements showed accuracy within the error rate suggested by the panel manufacturer.

  • This study aimed to supplement the shortcomings of the Multiple-sensor-based Frost Observation System (MFOS). The developed frost observation system is an improvement of the existing system. Based on the leaf wetness sensor (LWS), it not only detects frost but also functions to predict surface temperature, which is a major factor in frost occurrence. With the existing observation system, 1) it is difficult to observe ice (frost) formation on the surface when capturing an image of the LWS with an RGB camera because the surface of the sensor reflects most visible light, 2) images captured using the RGB camera before and after sunrise are dark, and 3) the thermal infrared camera only shows the relative high and low temperature. To identify the ice (frost) generated on the surface of the LWS, a LWS that was painted black and three sheets of glass at the same height to be used as an auxiliary tool to check the occurrence of ice (frost) were installed. For RGB camera shooting before and after sunrise, synchronous LED lighting was installed so the power turns on/off according to the camera shooting time. The existing thermal infrared camera, which could only assess the relative temperature (high or low), was improved to extract the temperature value per pixel, and a comparison with the surface temperature sensor installed by the National Institute of Meteorological Sciences (NIMS) was performed to verify its accuracy. As a result of installing and operating the MFOS v2, which reflects these improvements, the accuracy and efficiency of automatic frost observation were demonstrated to be improved, and the usefulness of the data as input data for the frost prediction model was enhanced.

  • As the nonlinear viewing patterns are getting generalized, the needs for VOD service of consumers are increasing in TV, webTV. But today's VOD system is all automated, except the part for posting contents. This study proposes the method for automation of the content posting. For this we analyzed the broadcast program structures by genre in order to detect the transition point between the advertisement and the contents. It was found that regular black frames were set in the transition during fade in and out. We propose an efficient approach to automatically detect the black frames using RGB values of each frame that enable VOD content posting and replace an advertisement in VOD service.

  • In this paper, we introduce a fire-detection system which is robust to light sources and environment changing. We can decide the threshold values that classify the regions between a fire flame and light sources by analyzing them in RGB color space. But we could not discriminate quasi-flame region from fire flame region with the value. The difference of mean-histogram technique make it possible to extract flame region more efficient because fire flame is continuously changing after it occurs. In order to validate real fire, this paper uses regional compactness in the end of process. Computer simulation show that proposed method make more robust to light sources and environment changing.

  • As the study of the object feature detection from image, we explain methods to identify the species of the tree in forest using the picture taken from dron. Generally there are three kinds of methods, which are GLCM (Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix) and Gabor filters, in order to extract the object features. We proposed the object extraction method using the statistical properties of trees in this research because of the similarity of the leaves. After we extract the sample images from the original images, we detect the objects using cross correlation techniques between the original image and sample images. Through this experiment, we realized the mean value and standard deviation of the sample images is very important factor to identify the object. The analysis of the color component of the RGB model and HSV model is also used to identify the object.

  • The input and output device requires precise color representation and CMS (Color Management System) because of the increasing number of ways to apply the digital image into electronic publishing. However, there are slight differences in the device dependent color signal among the input and output devices. Also, because of the non-linear conversion of the input signal value to the output signal value, there are color differences between the original copy and the output copy. It seems necessary for device-dependent color information values to change into device-independent color information values. When creating an original copy through electronic publishing, there should be color management with the input and output devices. From the devices' three phases of calibration, characterization and color conversion, the device-dependent color should undergo a color transformation into a device-independent color. In this paper, an experiment was done where the input device used the linear multiple regression and the sRGB color space to perform a color transformation. The output device used the GOG, GOGO and sRGB for the color transformation. After undergoing a color transformation in the input and output devices, the best results were created when the original target underwent a color transformation by the scanner and digital camera input device by the linear multiple regression, and the LCD output device underwent a color transformation by the GOG model.

  • One of the most frequently used method for measurement of the degree of sizing (viz., hydrophobicity) is the Stockigt test. However, the Stockigt test was influenced by various factors such as dropping height, dropping amount, dropping speed and viewing angle. The resultant data of the sizing degree on the same specimen also varied according to different testers. Thus, the Stockigt test should be modified to be regarded as a highly reliable and reproducible standard method. For modifying the Stockigt test, it was required to quantify red coloration by reaction between 1% ferric chloride and 2% ammonium thiocyante during Stockigt testing. The cameras capturing the serial images during the red coloration process were the CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)-type and CCD (Charge Coupled Device)-type cameras. For measurement based on KS M 7025, the CCD-type camera must be used due to its high resolution, and on the other hand, for measurement based on Tappi Useful Method 429, the CMOS-type camera may be used owing to its low resolution. It was needed to covert the RGB values of a droplet image into HSV(Hue, Saturation, and Value) values because the human eyes are much closer to HSV than RGB. Among HSV values, the Hue value was accepted as the most reliable index consistent with the red coloration process by excluding the surrounding conditions such as light, tester's movement etc.

  • This paper proposes a color matching 3D look-up table simplifying the complex color matching procedure between a monitor and a mobile display device. In other to perform color matching, it is necessary to process color of image in the device independent color space like CIEXYZ or CIELAB. To obtain the data of the device independent color space from that of the device dependent RGB color space, we must perform display characterizations. LCD characterization error using S-curve model is larger than tolerance error since LCD is more nonlinear than CRT. This paper improves the S-curve model to have smaller characterization error than tolerance error using the electro-optical transfer functions of X, Y, and Z value. We obtained images having higher color fidelity on mobile display devices through color matching experiments between monitor and mobile display devices. As a result of this experiments, we concluded that the color matching look-up table with 64(4${\times}$4${\times}$4) is the smallest size allowing characterization error to be acceptable.

  • This paper presents a new adaptive LSB steganography for high capacity in spatial color images. The number of least signi ficant bit (LSB) of each RGB component in a color image pixel, to replace with the data bits to be hidden, was determine d through analysis of the worst case peak signal noise ratio (PSNR). In addition, the combination of the number of bits is determined adaptively according to image content. That is, 70% of the data to be hidden is proposed to be replaced with 3 bit LSB of two components, 2 bit LSB of the rest component, and 30% be replaced with 4 bit LSB of each RGB compon ent. To find edge areas in an image, delta sorting in local area is also suggested. Using the proposed method, the data cap acity is 9.2 bits per pixel (bpp). The average PSNR value of the tested images with concealed data of up to 60Kbyte was 43.9 db and also natural histograms were generated.
