  • The authors argues that the current road updating system based on traditional aerial photograph or multi-spectral satellite image appears to be non-user friendly due to lack of the frequent cartographic representation for the new construction sites. Google Earth are currently being emerged as one of important places to extract road features since the RGB satellite image with high multi-temporal resolution can be accessed freely over large areas. This paper is primarily intended to evaluate optimal threshold of RGB pixel values to extract road features from Google Earth. An empirical study for five experimental sites was conducted to confirm how a RGB picture provided Google Earth can be used to extact the road feature. The results indicate that optimal threshold of RGB pixel values to extract road features was identified as 126, 125, 127 for manual operation which corresponds to 25%, 30%, 19%. Also, it was found that display scale difference of Google Earth was not very influential in tracking required RGB pixel value. As a result the 61cm resolution of Quickbird RGB data has shown the potential to realistically identified the major type of road feature by large scale spatial precision while the typical algorithm revealed successfully the area-wide optimal threshold of RGB pixel for road appeared in the study area.

  • Most of image binarization algorithms analyzes the intensity distribution using the histogram for the determination of threshold value. When the intensity difference between the foreground object and the background is great, the histogram shows the tendency to be bimodal and the selection of the histogram valley as the threshold value shows the good result. On the other side. when the intensity difference is not great and the histogram doesn't show the bimodal property, the histogram analysis doesn't support the selection of the proper threshold value. This Paper Proposed the novel binarization method that applies the fuzzy membership function to each color value on the RGB color model and, by using the operation results, separates the features having the great readability from the background. The proposed method prevents the loss of information incurred by the gray scale conversion by using the RGB color model and extracts effectively the readable features by using the fuzzy inference Compared with the traditional binarization methods, the proposed method is able to remove the majority of noise areas and show the improved results on the image of transport containers , etc.

  • In this paper, we proposed the improved Advanced Detail Enhancement algorithm that improve the blurring by the lossy compression with CODEC and reduce the ringing artifacts in restoration. The conventional algorithm needs much amount of the process by the use of RGB color space. To improve this, we only used the luminance value in YCbCr color space. We verified that the performance of the improved algorithm with Y color value, the luminance value, is equal to the conventional algorithm with RGB color value and that the operation time of the improved is shorter about 24% than the conventional through the measurement of the operation time with Kodak standard images.

  • We propose the system that automatically adjusts the white balance on display products to a standard value according to several nations. We replace manual or semi-auto method with fully automatic method using windows application program. And we use RS-232C serial interface to communicate PC with display products which we want to adjust white balance. The PC generates patterns for measuring color information and Color Analyzer measures color and brightness. This value is transmitted through RS-232C serial interface to PC. The PC's algorithm analyzes this information and then decides which RGB Gain value is best for optimal white balance. This RGB Gain value is transmitted through RS-232C serial interface to display products. The modified color value is measured again and feed back to PC. This sequence is repeated until optimum white balance is obtained.

  • With regard to LED lighting devices which have currently been commercialized, LED operating sequences are being sold in a fixed state. In such a state, the external environmental factors are not taken into consideration as only the illumination environment application is considered. Currently, it is difficult to create an optimal lighting environment which can adapt to changes in external environmental factors in the ship. Therefore, it was concluded that there is a need to input the external environment value so that the optimal illumination value can be reflected in real time in order to adapt more organically and actively to the change of external environmental factors. In this paper, we used a microprocessor as an integrated management system for environmental data that changes in real time according to existing external environmental factors. In addition, a controller capable of lighting control of RGB LED module by combining fuzzy inference system. For this, a fuzzy control algorithm is designed and a fuzzy control system is constructed. The distance and the illuminance value from the external environment element are input to the sensor, and these values are converted to the optimum illumination value through the fuzzy control algorithm, and are expressed through the dimming control of the RGB LED module and the practical effectiveness of the fuzzy control system is confirmed.

  • Recently, the miniaturization and digitalization for the inspection devices of point-of-care testing (POCT) are rapidly evolving. In the urine test, a lot of researches on index paper technology are being conducted because people can be self-diagnosed through visual color comparison using a urine test paper, Dipsick. The purpose of this study is to analyze the RGB values from the color changes on Dipstick Pad, which isused for urine test, using a smartphone camera. To this end, the primary, analytes in urine wasdiabetes-related parameters such as glucose, ketone body and pH, which is the most frequently tested elements, and we pursuited to quantify the changes in dipstick color caused from artificial urine containing different ranges of sugar, ketone body, and pH. In this experiment, changes in RGB values under bright and dark illuminances were compared, and changes in RGB value were monitored as a function of concentration of analytes under the ambient illumination of laboratory. As a result, color separation at the bright luminance region was good, but it did not appearat the low luminance region, and the changed profiles in RGB value under different illuminances was suggested to correct the problem of the color separation algorithm.

  • This paper presents a novel histogram and color information based algorithm for detecting and tracking multiple pedestrians from a moving camera. In the proposed method, RGB color histogram is used to detect adjacent pedestrians and RGB mean value is used to track detected pedestrians. Therefore, our algorithm detect contiguous or a few occluded pedestrians and track in case pedestrian's shape change. The experimental results on our test sequences demonstrate the high efficiency of our method.

  • Interpolation based information hiding methods are widely used to get information security. Conventional interpolation methods use the neighboring pixel value and simple calculation like average to embed secret bit stream into the image. But these information hiding methods are not appropriate to color images like military images because the characteristics of military images are not considered and these methods are restricted in grayscale images. In this paper, the new information hiding method based on interpolation using RGB pixel values of color image is proposed and the effectiveness is analyzed through experiments.

  • AI intelligent agriculture and digital agriculture are important for the science of agriculture. Leaf chlorophyll contents(LCC) are one of the most important indicators to determine the growth status of vegetable crops. In this study, a support vector machine (SVM) regression model was produced using an unmanned aerial vehicle-based RGB camera and a multispectral (MSP) sensor for onions and garlic, and the LCC estimation applicability of the RGB camera was reviewed by comparing it with the MSP sensor. As a result of this study, the RGB-based LCC model showed lower results than the MSP-based LCC model with an average R2 of 0.09, RMSE 18.66, and nRMSE 3.46%. However, the difference in accuracy between the two sensors was not large, and the accuracy did not drop significantly when compared with previous studies using various sensors and algorithms. In addition, the RGB-based LCC model reflects the field LCC trend well when compared with the actual measured value, but it tends to be underestimated at high chlorophyll concentrations. It was possible to confirm the applicability of the LCC estimation with RGB considering the economic feasibility and versatility of the RGB camera. The results obtained from this study are expected to be usefully utilized in digital agriculture as AI intelligent agriculture technology that applies artificial intelligence and big data convergence technology.

  • A true color image is needed many data on the occasion of the transmission and storage. Therefore, we want to describe color image by a minority data without unreasonableness at eyesight. In this paper, it is presented 256 colormap construction method in RGB, YIQ/YUV space and common colormap expression method at merge between colormaps by reason of dissimilar original color image to display at a monitor for each other colormap at the same time. In comparison with processed result in RGB, YIQ/YUV space, it was measured by PSNR, standard variation, and edge preservation rate using sobel operator. Process time is 3second in colormap construction and 2second in merge between colormaps. In the PSNR value, RGB space has higher 0.15, 0.34 on an average than YIQ and YUV spae. Standard variation has lower in 0.15, 0.41 on an average than Yiq and YUV space. But in the data compression, YIQ/YUV space have about 1/3 compression efficiency than RGB space by reason of use to only 4bit of 8bit in color component.
