  • In 2010, Jeon-Kim proposed HMAP(Hash-based Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID Environment) to resolve a variety of problem related to security using Mutual authentication scheme, the hash function and secret key is used to update in RFID system. Jeon-Kim proved RMAP was safe for a variety of attacks including eavesdropping attacks through safety analysis. However, unlike the claims of the proposed protocol is vulnerable to next session of the secret key exposure due to eavesdropping. In this paper, we analyze the problem of RMAP and proves it through security analysis. And we also propose improved an RFID Mutual Authentication Protocol based on Hash Function to solve problems of HMAP.

  • Nowadays there are many studies and there's huge development about USN/RFID which have great developmental potential to many kinds of applications. More and more real time application apply USN/RFID technology to identify data collect and locate objects. Wide deployment of USN/RFID will generate an unprecedented volume of primitive data in a short time. Duplication and redundancy of primitive data will affect real time performance of application. Thus, security applications must filter primitive data and correlate them for complex pattern detection and transform them to events that provide meaningful, actionable information to end application. In this paper, we design a ECA Rule system for security monitoring of exhibition. This system will process USN/RFID primitive data and event and perform data transformation. It's had applied each now in exhibition hall through this study and efficient data transmission and management forecast that is possible.

  • RFID systems are being studied and developed in the area of the industry and marketplace. Recently RFID systems are core element of the ubiquitous technologies in individual life and industry. However, RFID systems often cause some serious problems such as violation of privacy and information security because their contactless devices communicate each other by radio frequency In this paper, we propose multiple objects RFID tag scheme including tag structure and authentication protocol. The proposed RFID tag structure maintains several object IDs of different applications in a tag memory. The tag structure allows those applications to access object IDs simultaneously. The authentication protocol for multiple objects tag is designed ta overcome the problems of security and privacy. The protocol has robustness against various attacks in low cost RFID systems. We evaluate the efficiency of proposed scheme and compare security of our scheme with several traditional schemes.

  • RFID is an automatic identification technology that can control a range of information via IC chips and radio communication. Also known as electronic tags, smart tags or electronic labels, RFID technology enables embedding the overall process from production to sales in an ultra-small IC chip and tracking down such information using radio frequencies. Currently, RFID-based application and development is in progress in such fields as health care, national defense, logistics and security. RFID structure consists of a reader that reads tag information, a tag that provides information and the database that manages data. Yet, the wireless section between the reader and the tag is vulnerable to security issues. To sort out the vulnerability, studies on security protocols have been conducted actively. However, due to difficulties in implementation, most suggestions are concerned with theorem proving, which is prone to vulnerability found by other investigators later on, ending up in many troubles with applicability in practice. To experimentally test the security of the protocol proposed here, the formal verification tool, CasperFDR was used. To sum up, the proposed protocol was found to be secure against diverse attacks. That is, the proposed protocol meets the safety standard against new types of attacks and ensures security when applied to real tags in the future.

  • Recently RFID system is used in various fields such as distribution industry, medical industry and military service. The technology for protecting individual privacy is necessary to adapt RFID system in several applications. This paper proposes an authentication protocol which conducts mutual authentication between back-end database and tag using hash function. The proposed protocol satisfies various RFID security requirements : mutual authentication, anonymity, confidentiality, integrity, replay attack, location trace. This protocol reduces the time for authentication minimizing the number of hash operation in back-end database.

  • In 2006, Lee and Ahn proposed a matrix-based RFID authentication protocol which eliminates the security problems in HB and $HB^+$ RFID authentication protocols. Their proposed protocol provides the following three merits: (1) it reduces the computational costs of the RFID tag. (2) it reduces the communication overhead between the reader and the tag. (3) it protects the user privacy. However, this paper points out that Lee and Ahn's proposed protocol is insecure to various attacks because it does not provide mutual authentication which the RFID tag does not authenticate the legality of the RFID reader unlike their claims. In addition, this paper proposes an improved matrix-based RFID mutual authentication protocol that can provide the mutual authentication. As a result, the proposed protocol not only can provide strong security and but also guarantee high efficiency because it reduces the communication rounds compare with Lee-Ahn's protocol.

  • Mobile RFID system is a next generation technology which combines the existing RFID systems with mobile systems. It is newly expected to provide additional services and will be broadly used in everyday life; however, it sometimes causes the privacy or security problems generated by existing RFID systems and the additional privacy or security problems. Moreover, even if many methods have been proposed to solve those problems, it is still difficult to adapt to reality or to guarantee the security perfectly. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the secure and practicable privacy protection mechanism suitable to mobile RFID systems. proposing mechanism is applicable the mechanism to Private Zone of mobile RFID systems which require to protect the privacy. This mechanism suggests that own tagging-products needed to protect privacy using mobile reader of personal don't provide any information to other readers except their own reader. In addition to, proposing mechanism is the efficient mechanism which largely reduces the process to maintain the synchronization when happen to the DoS attack or system error.

  • Recently, study on RFID Tag Searching technique which is used to find a specific tag in particular tag group were developed continuously. RFID tag searching technique can be applicate in various fields such as product management, finding children, and electronic anklet. To implement a RFID tag search system, RFID tag searching protocol should be considered various security threats such as reader and tag tracking, privacy, etc. For implementing a safe RFID tag lookup system, it is important to consider the potential security threats such as the tag tracking problem, and the privacy of the owner of the tag reader problem. There exists an RFID tag lookup system that satisfies a few security requirements, but the privacy of the owner of the tag reader problem has still been left unsolved, and even if it were solved, it requires a considerable amount of cryptographic operations to be performed which results in a decrease in performance. This paper proposes a system that does not degrade the performance while solving the privacy of the owner of the tag reader problem.

  • Recently RFID systems have been introduced in place of barcode systems to industries such as logistics, distribution, and manufacturing. Due to security vulnerabilities in wireless communication between the reader and tags, however, the authentication protocols for the communication have also been researched extensively. In order to solve the vulnerability of previously proposed protocols, this paper thus proposes an authentication protocol that satisfies the security requirements in the RFID system and minimizes the quantity of computation such as random number generation, transmitting the micro-time of databases. In addition, it is expected that the proposed cross authentication protocol is safe against replay attack, spoofing attack, traffic analysis, and eavesdropping attack when it is applied to the RFID system. Also, it has advantages such as providing a high level of security at a lower manufacturing cost.

  • This study developed a digital security device which power is on/off by the RFID card. This device is based on the wireless data transmit/receive circuits, built in RS-232C chip and applied to computer and other digital devices. We can check whether this device is operated or not by connecting the LED. In this system, 13.56MHz frequency circuit supplies power with ID card, and DC inputs check the proximity operating distance of the card field for verifying the existence of a card. The security level of this system is much stronger than that of a compared system[13]. Anyone cannot use the system without RFID card. All illegal access is prevented except for authorized path.
