  • Recently, the security for RFID/USN environment is divided into network security and RFID security. The authentication protocol design for RFID security is studied to protect user privacy in RFID system. However, the study of efficient authentication protocol for RFID system is not satisfy a security for low-cost RFID tag and user privacy. Therefore, this paper proposes a secure matrix-based RFID authentication protocol that decrease communication overhead and computation. In result, the Matrix-based RFID authentication protocol is an effective authentication protocol compare with HB and $HB^+$ in traffic analysis attack and trace location attack.

  • This paper demonstrates that an attacker can impersonate a random RFID tag and then perform the spoofing attack in the previous RFID authentication protocol. To resolve such a security problem, we also propose a new secure and efficient RFID mutual authentication protocol. The proposed RFID mutual authentication protocol is not only to resolve many security problems with the existing RFID authentication mechanism and the vulnerability against spoofing attack, but also to guarantee reliable authentication time as reducing computational overhead performing by tag. As a result, the proposed RFID mutual authentication protocol provides stronger security including the forward secrecy and more efficiency.

  • There are many investigations about the security on RFID system to protect privacy. It is important to mutual authentication of the security on RFID system. The protocol for mutual authentication use light-weight operation such as XOR operation, hash function and re-encryption. However, the protocol for authentication and privacy is required more complicated cryptography system. In this paper, we propose a mutual authentication protocol using finite field GF($2^n$) for a authentication and are a safety analysis about various attacks.

  • Recently, research on security of RFID system has been conducted actively in order to utilize RFID system in various fields including distribution and logistics. This paper suggests an authentication protocol which supplement the flaws of previous RFID authentication protocols and we improved its performance using matrix-based authentication. The suggested authentication protocol provides mutual authentication, protects from wiretapping attack, replay attack, spoofing attack, and traffic analysis attack and so on, and reduces overload of back-end database so that has efficient performance.

  • Recently RFID system is used in various fields such as distribution industry, medical industry and military service. The technology for protecting individual privacy is necessary to adapt RFID system in several applications. This paper proposes an authentication protocol which conducts mutual authentication between back-end database and tag using hash function. The proposed protocol satisfies various RFID security requirements : mutual authentication, anonymity, confidentiality, integrity, replay attack, location trace. This protocol reduces the time for authentication minimizing the number of hash operation in back-end database.

  • RFID system is emerging new technology for ubiquitous computing environment. RFID system, however, provides privacy problems while the technology offers incredible rich opportunities for applications in the filed of logistics, distribution, and medical services, etc. Many researches have been conducted in order to solve this problem, but the current RFID authentication protocols are still insufficient for settling the privacy problem in the point of view of privacy intrusion and system efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to present a RFID mutual authentication protocol which improves safety level, compared with current authentication protocols. The proposed authentication protocol can provide mutual authentication services, and is secure against location tracing, spoofing, reflection attack.

  • In 2005, Ko-Kim-Kwon pointed out Henrici-Muller's hash based RFID authentication protocol is insecure to location tracking attack, spoofing attack and Denial of Service attack. Then, they proposed a new RFID authentication protocol(3K-RFID) that can withstand these security problems. However, this paper shows that 3K-RFID authentication protocol is still not only vulnerable to spoofing attack and Denial of Service attack but also does not provide forward secrecy, and then proposes an improved secure I3K-RFID authentication protocol in order to resolve such problems.

  • Recently, RFID technology can successfully be used to reduce medical errors. This technology can aid in the accurate matching of patients with their medications and treatments. The enthusiasm for using RFID technology in medical settings has been tempered by privacy concerns. In this paper, we propose a secure and efficient RFID authentication system to not only authenticate patients' authenticity but also protect patients' personal medical informations. The proposed system consists of RFID-based patient authentication protocol and database security protocol. As a result, since the proposed RFID authentication system provides strong security and efficiency, it can be used practically for patient authentication and personal medical information protection on the high technology medical environments such as u-Hospital and u-Healthcare.

  • In this paper, the proposal system can achieve the more safety of RFID System with the 2-step authentication procedures for the enhancement about the security of general RFID systems. After authentication RFID Tag, additionally, the proposal system extract the characteristic information in the user image for acquisition of the additional authentication information of the user with the camera. In this paper, the system which was proposed more enforce the security of the automatic entrance and exit authentication system with the cognitive characters of RFID Tag and the extracted characteristic information of the user image through the camera. The RFID system which use the active tag and reader with 2.4GHz bandwidth can recognize the tag of RFID in the various output manner. Additionally, when the RFID system have errors, the characteristic information of the user image is designed to replace the RFID system as it compare with the similarity of the color, outline and input image information which was recorded to the database previously. In the result of experiment, the system can acquire more exact results as compared with the single authentication system when it using RFID Tag and the information of color characteristics.

  • It has been proposed that several RFID authentication protocols based on hash chain. Status based authentication protocol and challenge-response based authentication protocol are secured against location tracking attacks, spoofing attacks, replay attacks, traffic analysis attacks but are vulnerable to Dos attacks. RFID authentication protocol with strong resistance against traceability and denial of service attack is secured against location tracking attack, spoofing attacks, replay attacks, DoS attacks but are vulnerable to traffic analysis attacks. The present study suggests a more secure and lightweight RFID authentication protocol which is combining the advantages of hash-chain authentication protocol and RFID authentication protocol with strong resistance against traceability and denial of service attack. The results of the secure analysts for a proposed protocol are illustrated that it is secured against location tracking attacks, spoofing attacks, replay attacks, traffic analysis attacks, Dos attacks and is a lightweight operation between server and tag.
