Large-area RF-driven ion source is being developed at Germany for the heating and current drive of ITER plasmas. Negative hydrogen (deuterium) ion sources are major components of neutral beam injection systems in future large-scale fusion experiments such as ITER and DEMO. RF ion sources for the production of positive hydrogen ions have been successfully developed at IPP (Max-Planck- Institute for Plasma Physics, Garching) for ASDEX-U and W7-AS neutral beam injection (NBI) systems. In recent, the first NBI system (NBI-1) has been developed successfully for the KSTAR. The first and second long-pulse ion sources (LPIS-1 and LPIS-2) of NBI-1 system consist of a magnetic bucket plasma generator with multi-pole cusp fields, filament heating structure, and a set of tetrode accelerators with circular apertures. There is a development plan of large-area RF ion source at KAERI to extract the positive ions, which can be used for the second NBI (NBI-2) system of KSTAR, and to extract the negative ions for future fusion devices such as ITER and K-DEMO. The large-area RF ion source consists of a driver region, including a helical antenna (6-turn copper tube with an outer diameter of 6 mm) and a discharge chamber (ceramic and/or quartz tubes with an inner diameter of 200 mm, a height of 150 mm, and a thickness of 8 mm), and an expansion region (magnetic bucket of prototype LPIS in the KAERI). RF power can be transferred up to 10 kW with a fixed frequency of 2 MHz through a matching circuit (auto- and manual-matching apparatus). Argon gas is commonly injected to the initial ignition of RF plasma discharge, and then hydrogen gas instead of argon gas is finally injected for the RF plasma sustainment. The uniformities of plasma density and electron temperature at the lowest area of expansion region (a distance of 300 mm from the driver region) are measured by using two electrostatic probes in the directions of short- and long-dimension of expansion region.

The implementation of a BTS(Base station Transceiver) for WLL system using W-CDMA(Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access) method is presented in this paper. It consists of three boards; receiver, transmitter and RF controller. Some RF parameters are considered and simulated by the RF simulation S/W using commercial and customized components specifications. The implemented transceiver of 5 MHz RF channel bandwidth satisfies the system requirements of a transceiver such as dynamic range, sensitivity in the receiver and spurious emission suppression in the transmitter. At the receiver, the experimental measurement showed 2.86 dB of NF and 60 dB above of dynamic range in AGC(Automatic Gain Control) locking. At the transmitter, the -49.46 dBc of spurious emission suppression is attained when the output power of the transmitter is 34.3 dBm. These results are good enough to meet to standard performance specifications.

In the field of electronics and semiconductor technology, innovative semiconductor material research to replace Si is actively ongoing. However, while research on alternative materials is underway, there is a significant lack of studies regarding the relationship between 2D materials used as channels in transistors, especially parasitic resistance, and RF (radio frequency) applications. This study systematically analyzes the impact on electrical performance with a focus on various transistor structures to address this gap. The research results confirm that access resistance and contact resistance act as major factors contributing to the degradation of semiconductor device performance, particularly when highly scaled down. As the demand for high-frequency RF components continues to grow, establishing guidelines for optimizing component structures and elements to achieve desired RF performance is crucial. This study aims to contribute to this goal by providing structural guidelines that can aid in the design and development of next-generation RF transistors using 2D materials as channels.

Hardware components are an integral part of Hardware Define Radio (HDR) for seamless operations and optimal performance. On the other hand, Software Define Radio (SDR) is a program that does not rely on any hardware components for its performance. Both of the latter radio programmers utilize modulation functions to make their core components from signal processing viewpoint. The following paper concentrates on SDR based modulation and their performance under different modulations. The bit error rate (BER) of modulations such as PSK, QAM, and PSAM were used as indicators to test channel quality estimation in planar Rayleigh fading. Though it is not commonly used for channel fading, the method of the adder determines the regionally segmented channel fading. Thus, the estimation error of the channel change substantially reduces the performance of the signal, hence, proving to be an effective option. Moreover, this paper also elaborates that BER is calculated as a function of the sample size (signal length) with an average of 20 decibels. Consequently, the size of the results for different modulation schemes has been explored. The analytical results through derivations have been verified through computer simulation. The results focused on parameters of amplitude estimation error for 1dB reduction in the average signal-to-noise ratio, while the combined amplitude deviation estimation error results are obtained for a 3.5 dB reduction

In this work, high performance broadband amplifier MMIC including all the matching and biasing components, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuit was developed for K/Ka band applications. Therefore, external biasing or matching components were not required for the operation of the MMIC. STO (SrTiO3) capacitors were employed to integrate the DC biasing components on the MMIC, and miniaturized LC parallel ESD protection circuit was integrated on MMIC, which increased ESD breakdown voltage from 10 to 300 V. A pre-matching technique and RC parallel circuit were used for the broadband design of the amplifier MMIC. The amplifier MMIC exhibited good RF performances and good stability in a wide frequency range. The chip size of the MMICs was $1.7{\pm}0.8$ mm2.
In this paper, we present the simulation results of the multi-layer VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator), which is composed of the resonator, the oscillator and the buffer circuit. using EM simulator and nonlinear RF circuit simulator. EM simulator is used for obtaining the EM(Electromagnetic) characteristics of the conductor pattern as well as designing the multi-layer VCO. Obtained EM characteristics were used as real components in nonlinear RF circuit simulation. Finally the overall VCO was simulated using the nonlinear RF circuit simulator. The material for the circuit pattern was Ag and the dielectric was DuPont 951AT, which will be applied for LTCC process. The structure is constructed with 4 conducting layer. Simulated results showed that the output level was about 4.5[dBm], the phase noise was -104[dBc/Hz] at 30[kHz] offset frequency, the harmonics -8dBc, and the control voltage sensitivity of 30[MHz/V] with a DC current consumption of 9.5[mA]. The size of VCO is $6{\times}9{\times}2mm$(0.11[cc]).

Wireless power transmission (WPT) is a technology using free space as a conductor for transmitting electric power, which aims to transfer not just the transmission signal but also the electrical energy itself. This paper takes issue with the microwave wireless transmission technology utilizing in long-distance transmission. To construct the WPT system, several components are needed, such as RF Oscillator which converts AC power to RF through DC status, high gain antenna and RF rectifier that converts RF back to DC. The array topology is good a candidate for wide use. The objective of this research is to study the efect of the WPT systmem on electric power system.
