  • In this paper, we have developed a 2-port resistive frequency mixer for the retrodirective active array. The circuit topology is consisted of 2-port to avoid the complexity of LO and RF signal combination, using a pseudomorphic HEMT device. The operating frequencies are 4.0 GHz, 2.01 GHz, and 1.99 GHz for LO, RF, and IF, respectively. Conversion loss is measured to be -1㏈ and 1-㏈ compression point -15 ㏈m at the LO power of -10 ㏈m.

  • A new design of RF automatic gain control amplifier with low phase shift attenuator is proposed. By using the RF AGC amplifier, the output level of amplifier becomes to be constant. The error is 0.1dB. In addition, for arbitrary RF input power, it is possible to design the gain of amplifier to be fixed. If the constant gain is maintained, it is more reliable to make wanted IMD(Intermodulation Distortion) characteeristic amplifier.

  • In this study in order to evaluate the growth of RF propagation exposure rate generated according to the enhancement of its use, it is proposed for the ground to be able to examine and to contemplate the correlation between the human health and RF propagation exposure rate by measuring and analyzing the RF exposure source and exposure rate in an indoor environment. As a result of research, it is analyzed that the main exposure source of critically making effect in indoor environment is the frequency hand if radio broadcasting, mobile communication, wireless LAN, digital broadcasting, home appliance, etc., including the TV broadcasting. Among these, it is shown that the TV broadcasting and mobile communication band are the highest. And it is the concluded that RF exposure rate of the environmental sensitive equipment, like an institution for the aged, has lower possibility to exceed the human RF protection criteria by this evaluation.

A Characteristics of RF Sensitivity for a Firing Fuse (기폭용 퓨즈의 RF 감도 특성)

  • EED consists of bridgewire, explosive charge, lead pins and metal case. If a firing signal is injected to EED, the explosive charge in EED is initiated by heating of bridgewire. Electromagnetic waves radiated from high power transmitters or radars can also cause unexpected firing of EED. Therefore, EMC design and test requirements for EED in military specifications are established and applied. This report describes the characteristics of RF sensitivity fur a firing fuse which is used fur EMC test instead of a real EED installed in aircraft. RF firing level of the fuse was predicted using transmission line(TL) theory. n sensitivity and RF sensitivity specified in military specifications were measured.

  • 본 논문은 무선 음성/영상 송수신용 RF모듈 설계 및 제작하였다. RF 주파수는 정보통신부에서 고시한 영상전송용 2410, 2430, 3450, 2470MHz 사용하였으며 IF 주파수는 479.5MHz를 사용하였다. 설계 및 제작된 RF 모듈은 FR-4 재질인 유전체 4.6, 두게 0.8mm, 양면구조의 기판을 사용하여 50mm x 40mm 크기로 제작되었다. 설계된 송신기 모듈은 +5V 단일전원으로 9±1dBm의 출력과 주파수허용편차 50×10/sup -6/이하, 스퓨리어스 발사강도 기본주파수의 평균전력보다 40dB이하의 성능을 만족하였다. 수신기 모듈은 +5V 단일 전원으로 -80dBm이하의 수신감도로 만족할만한 성능을 보였다.

  • Even if use ICS repeater in radio communication system, distance between Donor antenna and Service antenna though do much isolation degree must that shortcoming have. Proposed IP antenna to supplement this shortcoming in this paper. Result Doner antenna and isolation of Service antenna that measure through examination do 1.5m and when did direction 180 degree, Isolation confirmed that is measured 110dB. Confirmed that can unuse ICS repeater through this result and service by general RF repeater.

  • The passive system requires RF-DC converter. RF-DC converter, which is used in microwave region, is more affected by parasitic elements than used in low frequency region. So it is difficult to make the converter. RF-DC converter usually consists of resonator, shottky diode, capacitor, voltage regulator. In this study, we used the rechargeable battery instead of capacitor. If any passive transponder requires more power than general transponder, battery tech of this components is important to apply for the passive system. In this paper, passive transponder, which requires more power than general passive transponder, is presented and compared to general passive transponder.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a high conversion and isolation characteristic V-band quadruple sub-harmonic mixer monolithic circuit which is designed and fabricated for the millimeter wave down converter applications. While most of the sub-harmonic mixers use a half of fundamental frequency, we adopt a quarter of the fundamental frequency. The proposed circuit is based on a sub-harmonic mixer with APDP(anti-parallel diode pair) and the 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ PHEMT's (pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors). Lumped elements at IF port provide better selectivity of IF frequency and increase isolation. Maximum conversion gain of 0.8 ㏈ at a LO frequency of 14.5㎓ and at a RF frequency of 60.4 ㎓ is measured. Both LO-to-RF and LO-to-IF isolations are higher than 50 ㏈. The conversion gain and isolation characteristic are the best performances among the reported quadruple sub-harmonic mixer operating in the V-band millimeter wave frequency thus far.

Variable Conversion Gain Mixer for Dual Mode Receiver (이중 모우드 수신기용 가변 변환이득 믹서)

  • In this paper, dual mode FET mixer for WiBro and wireless LAN(WLAN) applications has been designed in the form of dual gate FET mixer by using the cascode structure of two single gate pHEMTs. The designed dual gate mixer has been optimized to have variable conversion gain for WiBro and WLAN applications in order to save dc power consumption. The LO to RF isolation of the designed mixer is more than 20dB from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz band. With the LO power of 0dBm and RF power of -50dBm, the mixer shows 15dB conversion gain. When RF power increases from -50dBm to -20dBm, the conversion gain decreases to -2dB from 15dB with bias change. The variable conversion gain has several advantages. It can reduce the high dynamic range requirement of AGC burden at IF stage. Also, it can save the dc power dissipation of mixer up to 90%.

  • A 2.4 GHz CMOS RF front-end using for ZigBee application is described The front-end consists of a low noise amplifier and a down-mixer and uses a 2 MHz IF frequency. A common source with resistive feedback and an inductive degeneration are adopted for a low noise amplifier, and a 20 dB gain control step is digitally controlled. A passive mixer for low current consumption is employed. The RF front-end is implemented in 0.18 ${\mu}m$IP6M CMOS process. The measured performance is 4.44 dB NF and -6.5 dBm IIP3 while consuming 3.28 mA current from a 1.8 V supply.
