The Effects of Resting Physical Factors on Distance and Intensity of Six-Minute Walk Test in Healthy Female Subjects

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the correlations among the resting physical factors related to a six-minute walk test (6MWT) and to determine the effects of the resting physical factors on the distance and intensity related to the 6MWT in healthy female subjects. Methods: A total of 43 healthy female subjects ($22.84{\pm}3.90yrs$) participated in this study. They performed the 6MWT, and the physical factors related to the 6MWT were assessed. SPSS 20.0 was used to analyze the data, and the mean and standard deviation were calculated, and the collected data were analyzed by the Pearson's correlation coefficient (among physical factors related to 6MWT) and independent t-test (between six-minute walk distance [6MWD] groups and six-minute walk intensity [6MWI] groups). Results: The 6MWD had a significant negative correlation with the resting HR (beat/min) in healthy female subjects (r=-0.49, p<0.05). The 6MWI had a significant negative correlation with the resting systolic blood pressure (SBP) (r=-0.45, p<0.01). A comparison of the 6MWD revealed the long distance group (LDG, 700-799 m) to be significantly higher than the middle distance group (MDG, 600-699 m) in the 6MWI (%), %predicted distance (%), predicted VO2max (mL/kg/min), resting HR (beat/min), and resting SBP (mmHg)(p<0.05). In the comparison of 6MWI, the moderate intensity group (MIG, 64-75%HRmax) was significantly lower than the low intensity group (LIG, 50-63%HRmax) in the resting SBP (mmHg) (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that the resting physical factors are related to the 6MWD and 6MWI of the 6MWT in healthy females. In particular, SBP is associated with not only the 6MWD but also the 6MWI in 6MWT.

도심의 휴식공간 및 시설물 디자인 사례연구 (The Case Study for the Designing of the Resting Places in the Urban and the Street Furniture)

  • 우리 나라의 도시 발전을 살펴보면 60년대 이후 개별적인 건물은 발전을 보였으나, 인간을 위한 휴식공간은 거의 도외시 되어왔다. 또한, 기계화·정보화가 심화되면서 사람들은 인간 소외를 느끼게 되는데, 도심지 네 휴식 공간은 새로운 공동체 형성의 기반이 될 수 있다 따라서, 현재 빌딩 술인 도심지 내에 인간이 중심이 되는 휴식 공간에 대한 연구와 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구는 새로운 휴식공간 및 가로시설물의 디자인 제안을 위해 문헌 고찰과 인터넷 검색방법으로 도시민들의 휴식공간 사용 행태와 가로 시설물을 조사하였다. 또한, 이를 바탕으로 인간·자연·환경 기술이 고려된 도심지 내의 휴식공간을 디자인 하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과물로 제시되는 도심지 내 휴식공간은 사용자가 공간 내 환경과 상호 작용할 수 있고, 사무에 지친 오피스 워커들을 실외로 유도할 수 있도록 계획되었다. 따라서, 도시민들은 도심지 내에서 뜻밖의 자연환경을 즐길 수 있고, 재충전의 기회를 가질 수 있다 이 공간은 진입유도공간, 휴식공간, 단체공간, 정보탐색 공간, 문화생활공간과 같이 다섯 영역으로 구성되었으며, 각 영역은 그 특성에 맞는 디자인 모티브를 가지고 있어, 가로시설물 및 조경계획은 통일성을 갖도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 특정 대지를 대상으로 하여 계획된 휴식공간은 하나의 프로토 타입으로써 대지 조건에 따라 가변적으로 재배치될 수 있다.

Resting Eggs of Copepods in the Intertidal Sediments of Gomso Bay, the West Coast of Korea

  • To Investigate the distribution of resting eggs at the intertidal zone, Gomso Bay, samples were taken from the top of the sediments to 10 cm depth at four sites using a cylindrical corer in February, 1997. Additional samples were also taken from one station at subtidal zone to compare the distributions between the inter- and subtidal zones. The resting eggs of few copepods, Acartia pacifica, Centropages abdominalis, Calanopia thompsoni, and Tortanus forcipatus were studied. Mostly, the abundance of the resting eggs in the lower intertidal zone was greater than that in the upper intertidal zone, but was not significantly different from that in the subtidal zone. The abundance of the resting eggs in the intertidal sediments was related with the grain-size and moisture content of sediments. Intertidal sediments are potential egg banks like subtidal sediments.

수온, 염분 및 보관방법에 따른 한국산 Rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis (S-type) 내구란의 부화율 (Effect of Temperature, Salinity and Preservation Method on Hatching Rate of Resting Egg of Korean Rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis (S-type))

  • 한국산 rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis 내구란의 부화에 미치는 온도($24\~36^{\circ}C$)와 염분($5{\~}30$ ppt)의 영향을 조사하였다. 가장 높은 내구란의 부화율은 $28^{\circ}C$, 15 ppt에서 $85.7{\%}$로 나타났다. 온도 $32^{\circ}C(42.6\~60.5\%)$$36^{\circ}C(52.0\~61.4\%)$에서는 염분과 수온에 따른 부화율은 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 부화시간은 온도가 높을수록 짧게 나타났다. $5^{\circ}C$ 암흑상태로 내구란을 보존할 경우 2일 동안 일시적으로 부화하였다. 그러나 $28^{\circ}C$ 내구란을 보존한 경우, 14일 동안 산발적으로 부화하였다. 또한 부화율은 $28^{\circ}C(58.1\%)$$5^{\circ}C(40.2\%)$ 보다 높게 나타났다. 내구란의 건조온도가 시간에 따른 부화율은 $30^{\circ}C$에서 1시간동안 건조한 내구란이 $46.4{\%}$로 가장 높은 부화율을 보였다.

20대 성인의 보행 후 휴식시간에 따른 진동식 자동혈압계와 수은혈압계의 안정혈압 도달 시점 (Time for Young Adults to Reach Resting Blood Pressure after Walking as measured by an Automatic and a Mercury Sphygmomanometer)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the time for young adults to reach resting blood pressure after walking as measured by an automatic and a mercury sphygmomanometer. Methods: Participants were 33 nursing students in their 20s. Blood pressure after walking was measured every minute on both arms simultaneously for a total of 6 times after walking for 12 minutes on a treadmill at ratings of perceived exertion (RPE) of 11. Data were analyzed using paired t-test, Bland-Altman plots and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Systolic blood pressure after walking was the same as measurements corresponding to resting blood pressure after 3 minutes of resting if measured with the automatic sphygmomanometer and 4 minutes of resting if measured with the mercury sphygmomanometer. Conclusions: In order to measure the resting blood pressure for healthy young adults who performed low-density walking for 12 minutes on flat land, the measurement needs to be made after a resting time of at least 3 minutes in the case of an automatic sphygmomanometer and 4 minutes in the case of a mercury sphygmomanometer.

Evaluation of 3D printability of cementitious materials according to thixotropy behavior

  • This study is a basic research for evaluating the buildability of cementitious materials for three-dimensional (3D) printing. In the cement paste step, the thixotropy behavior according to the resting time, which represents the time interval between each layer, was analyzed. In addition, the relationship between the thixotropy behavior and 3D concrete printing buildability was derived by proposing a measurement method that simulates the 3D concrete printing buildup process. The analysis of the tendency of the thixotropy behavior according to the resting time revealed that the area of the hysteresis loop (AHyst) showed a tendency to increase and then converge as the resting time increased, which means hysteresis loop approach critical resting time for sufficient buildability. In the thixotropy behavior analysis that simulates the 3D concrete printing buildup process, the buildup ratio, which is the recovery rate of the shear stress, showed a tendency to increase and then converge as the resting time increased, which are similar results like hysteresis loop. It was concluded that AHyst and the buildup ratio can be used as parameters for determining the resting time, and they have close relationships with 3D concrete printing buildability.

배추무사마귀병균 휴면포자의 발아 및 생존에 미치는 몇가지 환경요인 (Some Environmental Factors Affecting Germination and Survival of Resting Spores of Plasmodioprora brassicae)

  • 불활성 휴면포자율의 변화를 경시적으로 조사하여 휴면포자 발아에 미치는 온도의 영향을 간접적으로 측정한 결과 $28^{\circ}C$에서 24시간 후에는 55.6%, 132시간 후에는 82.5% 발아하여 가장 양호하였으며, $24^{\circ}C$, $16^{\circ}C$의 순이었다. 발아 최적산도는 pH 6이었으며 pH 7, 8의 순으로 좋았고, pH 4, 9에서는 발아가 현저히 억제되었다. 휴면포자의 발아는 무, 배추 등의 기주작물과 강남콩의 뿌리 마쇄액에서 가장 높았으며, 상추에서는 현저히 낮았다. 휴면포자의 불활성화에 미치는 고온 처리효과를 조사한 결과 온도가 높을수록 그리고 처리 시간이 경과할수록 불활성 휴면포자의 수는 증가하였으나 $40{\sim}65^{\circ}C$ 온도범위내에서 1시간 후 불활성화 정도는 $40{\sim}60%$로 대체로 비슷하였다. 그러나 $70^{\circ}C$ 처리에서 불활성화율은 급격히 증가하여 60분간 처리시 불활성화율이 91.5%에 달하였다. 뿌리혹을 담수처리하면 불활성화된 휴면포자의 비율이 급격히 증가하여 9일 후에는 60.3%에 달하여 담수에 의하여 휴면포자가 급격히 불활성화되었다. 이병토양을 담수하여도 5개월 후에 30%이상 휴면포자 밀도가 감소하였다. 무사마귀병 방제약제중 후루아지남이 후루설파마이드에 비해 휴면포자 불활성화 효과가 좋았으나 두 약제 모두 아인산염에 비하여 그 효과가 낮은 것으로 나타났다.

연안 요각류의 성체와 휴면란의 계절별 개체수 변화를 통한 개체군 유지 전략 (The Strategy of Population Maintenance by Coastal Copepod Inferred from Seasonal Variations in Abundance of Adults and Resting Eggs)

  • We investigated seasonal variations in the abundance of the adults and the resting eggs of copepods to understand the role of copepod resting eggs for maintaining their population inhabiting the coastal area of Dadaepo, Korea. Adults and resting eggs of copepods were collected bi-monthly with a conical net (45 cm mouth diameter, $330{\mu}m$ mesh size) and van Veen grab ($0.1m^2$ area), respectively, from October 2016 to September 2017. The species of resting eggs were identified using mtCOI gene. The mean abundance of copepods was highest in October ($3686{\pm}1190inds{\cdot}m^{-3}$) and lowest in January ($176{\pm}60inds{\cdot}m^{-3}$) with the dominance of Paracalanus parvus s.l.. Among copepod producing resting eggs, Acartia omorii and Centropages abdominalis were dominant. The mean abundance of resting eggs was the highest in July ($9148{\pm}6787eggs{\cdot}m^{-2}$) and the lowest in October ($530{\pm}348eggs{\cdot}m^{-2}$). Most of the collected resting eggs were identified as A. omorii's. The mean abundances of A. omorii adults and resting eggs were highest in July, and both abundances fluctuated in a similar pattern except in September. In September, A. omorii adults were observed in a state of low abundance, while their resting eggs occurred in a state of high abundance. These results suggest that A. omorii maintain their population by producing a large quantity of resting eggs, particularly diapause eggs, before the seawater temperature rises. These eggs would hatch and be newly recruited to their population when the environmental condition becomes favorable.

  • The lounge space in the fashion shopping mall such as footpath and resting place is attained not only a routine life for a pedestrian ,but also a simple meeting for association and amusement. In comparison with the current advancement of a shopping mall, however the lounge-a resting place for customers who make a visit for shopping and need for resting has changed into being commercial and non commercial -real meaning for resting space has disappeared. Consequently, the purpose of a research is to investigate on the actual condition for noncommercial resting spaces in the shopping mall and to suggest a reform measure through an analysis on the satisfaction percept of users in accordance with the result.

황해 남동부 해역 저질 내 와편모조류 휴면포자의 분포 (Horizontal Distribution of Dinoflagellate Resting Cysts in Sediments from the Southeastern Yellow Sea)

  • To gain a greater understanding of the potential for future harmful algal bloom (HAB) outbreaks and to trace the dispersal paths of dinoflagellates, sediment samples were collected from 13 stations in the southeastern Yellow Sea. 23 different types of dinoflagellate resting cysts were identified from the samples. Protoceratium reticulatum (1-391 cells/g dry weight), Gonyaulax scrippsae (0-254 cells/g dry weight), G. spinifera (0-301 cells/g dry weight) and Alexandrium spp. (ellipsoidal type) (0-76 cells/g dry weight) were the dominant species at all surveyed stations. The overall distribution pattern demonstrated that the resting cyst densities were highest in the offshore area and decreased gradually toward the Korean coast. On the other hand, the composition rate of resting cysts of the heterotrophic dinoflagellate species to the total dinoflagellates was higher in the Korean coast region than in the offshore area. We supposed that this distribution pattern of dinoflagellate resting cysts appeared to be influenced by the hydrographic features and environmental conditions of the Yellow Sea.
