In current role-based systems, security officers handle assignments of users to roles. This may increase management efforts in a distributed environment because of the continuous involvement from security officers. The role-based delegation provides a means for implementing RBAC in a distributed environment. The basic idea of a role-based delegation is that users themselves may delegate role authorities to other users to carry out some functions on behalf of the former. This paper presents a user-level delegation model, which is based on Extended Role-Based Access Control(ERBAC). ERBAC provides finer grained access control on the base of subject and object level than RBAC model.
Role-Based Access Control(RBAC) is a flexible and policy-neutral access control technology. But, for large systems, managing roles, users, permissions and their interrelationships is a formidable task that cannot be centralized in a small team of security administrators. Using RBAC to manage RBAC provides addition히 administrative convenience. In this paper we demonstrate the implementation of one of the components of ARBAC99 which deals with permission-role assignment and is called PRA99. We implement it by using EJB component and use Oracle stored procedures to implement it.

Role-Based Access Control(RBAC) security policy is being widely accepted not only as an access control policy for information security but as both a natural modeling tool for management structure of organizations and flexible permission management framework in various commercial environments. Important functions provided by the current RBAC model are to administrate the information on the components of RBAC model and determine whether user's access request to information is granted or not, and most researches on RBAC are for defining the model itself, describing it in formal method and other important properties such as separation of duty. As the current RBAC model which does not define the definition, design and operation for applications is not suitable for automated information systems that consist of various applications, it is needed that how applications should be designed and then executed based on RBAC security model. In this paper, we describe dynamic properties of session which is taken for a passive entity only activated by users, as a vehicle for building and executing applications in an automated information systems. And, a framework for session-oriented separation of duty property, application design and operation is also presented.

Role-Based Access Control(RBAC) is an access control mechanism that reduce the cost of administering access control policies. The Admin Tool developed for RBAC Model manages relationship informations of user and role. In order to maintain the consistency of the information for these relationships, a set of properties defining consistency of the relationship informations is required. When it will be designed security systems applying RBAC policy on the Linux server system environments, this paper described consistency properties of relationship informations for information management of user and role relationships. It leads us to the development of minimal set obtainable the equivalent results of consistency properties for a more efficient Admin Tool implementation.

Privacy enforcement has been one of the most important problems in IT area. Privacy protection can be achieved by enforcing privacy policies within an organization's data processing systems. Traditional security models are more or less inappropriate for enforcing basic privacy requirements, such as privacy binding. This paper proposes an extended role-based access control (RBAC) model for enforcing privacy policies within an organization. For providing privacy protection and context based access control, this model combines RBAC, Domain-Type Enforcement, and privacy policies Privacy policies are to assign privacy levels to user roles according to their tasks and to assign data privacy levels to data according to consented consumer privacy preferences recorded as data usage policies. For application of this model, small hospital model is considered.

Java is platform-independent and supports uniform solutions from mobile area (J2ME) to enterprise area (J2EE), so Java is a good development tool for the environment of heterogeneous machines and distributed applications. Java applications need access control module as a Java package. In this paper, we design and implement it. Therefore Java developers can reduce development time, and system managers easily do access control work. Proposed module is based on Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model and includes a Java package and administration tool.
With the wide acceptance of the Internet and the Web, volumes of information and related users have increased and companies have become to need security mechanisms to effectively protect important information for business activities and security problems have become increasingly difficult. This paper proposes a improved access control model for access control enforcement in enterprise environments through the integration of the temporal constraint character of the GT-RBAC model. sub-role hierarchies concept and PBDM(Permission Based Delegation Model). The proposed model. called Extended GT-RBAC(Extended Generalized Temporal Role Based Access Control) delegation Model. supports characteristics of GTRBAC model such as of temporal constraint, various time-constrained cardinality, control flow dependency and separation of duty constraints (SoDs). Also it supports conditional inheritance based on the degree of inheritance and business characteristics by using sub-roles hierarchies and supports permission based delegation, user to user delegation, role to role delegation, multi-step delegation and temporal delegation by using PBDM.

Like most large organizations, there are business rules such as 'separation of duty' and 'delegation' which should be considered in access control. From a SOD point of view, previous SOD models built on the (Administrative) Role-Based Access Control model cannot present the best solution to security problems such as information integrity by the limited constituent units such as role hierarchy and role inheritance. Thus, we propose a new integrated management model of administration role-based access control model and SOD policy, which is called the OS-SoDAM. The OS-SoDAM defines the authority range in an organizational structure that is separated from role hierarchy and supports a decentralized security officer-level SOD policy in which a local security officer can freely perform SOD policies within a security officer's authority range without the security officer's intervention.

Privacy enforcement has been one of the most important problems in IT area. Privacy protection can be achieved by enforcing privacy policies within an organization's online and offline data processing systems. Traditional security models are more or less inappropriate for enforcing basic privacy requirements, such as purpose binding. This paper proposes a new approach in which a privacy control model is derived from integration of an existing security model. To this, we use an extended role-based access control model for existing security mechanism, in which this model provides context-based access control by combining RBAC and domain-type enforcement. For implementation of privacy control model we use GRBAC(Generalized Role-Based Access Control), which is expressive enough to deal with privacy preference. And small hospital model is considered for application of this model.

RBAC(Role-Based Access Control) has advantages in managing access controls, because it offers the role inheritance and separation of duty in role hierarchy structures. Delegation is a mechanism of assigning access rights to a user. RBDM0 and RDM2000 models deal with user-to-user delegation. The unit of delegation in them is a role. However, RBAC does not process delegation of Role or Permission effectively that occurs frequently in the real world. This paper proposes a Time Constraints Permission-Based Delegation Model(TCPBDM) that guarantees permanency of delegated permissions and does not violate security principle of least privilege and separation of duty. TCPBDM, based on the well-known RBAC96, supports both user-to-user and role-to-role delegation with time constraints. A delegator can give permission to a specific person, that is delegatee, and the permission can be withdrawn whenever the delegator wants. Our model is analyzed and shown to be effective in the present paper.
