고속도로의 합류구간내 속도변화 추정모형 구축에 관한 연구 (Constructing the Models Estimated for Speed Variation on the Merge Section in the Freeway)

  • Congestion and traffic accidents occur on the merge and diverge sections in the interchange of the freeway. Studies have been conducted to reduce the traffic delay and accidents on the merge section in the freeway since 1960s. but a study was not conducted to estimate the speed variation on the merge section construct models estimated for the speed variation and suggest the appropriate measures. The purpose of this study was to identify the traffic flow characteristics on the merge section in the freeway construct the models estimated for the speed variation on the merge section in the freeway and finally establish the appropriate measure for reduction of traffic delay and accidents on the merge section in the freeway. The following results were obtained: I) Speed variations in the urban freeway appeared to be about 3.2mph, 6.5mph and 7.4mph based on the morning peak period, afternoon peak period and 24-hours period but those in the suburban freeway appeared to be about 8.0mph, 11.1mph and 10.1mph based on the same periods respectively. So different speed reduction signs need be installed to reduce delay and accidents on the merge section in the freeway based on the areas and periods as the freeway traffic management system(FTMS). ii) These models estimated for speed variation need to be studied with the changeable message sign(CMS) technique based on the real-time data so that the traffic flow could be maximized and the traffic delay and accidents be on the merge section in the freeway as more efficient freeway traffic management system(FTMS) in the near future.

SQUID 센서 기반의 극저자장 자기공명 장치를 위한 사전자화코일 전류구동장치 개발 (Development of Prepolarization Coil Current Driver in SQUID Sensor-based Ultra Low-field Magnetic Resonance Apparatuses)

  • SQUID sensor-based ultra low-field magnetic resonance apparatus with ${\mu}T$-level measurement field requires a strong prepolarization magnetic field ($B_p$) to magnetize its sample and obtain magnetic resonance signal with a high signal-to-noise ratio. This $B_p$ needs to be ramped down very quickly so that it does not interfere with signal acquisition which must take place before the sample magnetization relaxes off. A MOSFET switch-based $B_p$ coil driver has current ramp-down time ($t_{rd}$) that increases with $B_p$ current, which makes it unsuitable for driving high-field $B_p$ coil made of superconducting material. An energy cycling-type current driver has been developed for such a coil. This driver contains a storage capacitor inside a switch in IGBT-diode bridge configuration, which can manipulate how the capacitor is connected between the $B_p$ coil and its current source. The implemented circuit with 1.2 kV-tolerant devices was capable of driving 32 A current into a thick copper-wire solenoid $B_p$ coil with a 182 mm inner diameter, 0.23 H inductance, and 5.4 mT/A magnetic field-to-current ratio. The measured trd was 7.6 ms with a 160 ${\mu}F$ storage capacitor. trd was dependent only on the inductance of the coil and the capacitance of the driver capacitor. This driver is scalable to significantly higher current of superconducting $B_p$ coils without the $t_{rd}$ becoming unacceptably long with higher $B_p$ current.

국민주택규모 아파트 주거환경의 유니버설디자인 적용성 평가 연구 - 김해시 장유신도시 지역의 아파트 단지 사례를 중심으로 - (Evaluating Korean Standard-Sized Apartment Houses Fron the Perspective of Universal Design - Cases of the Apartment Complex in Jang-you New Town Area -)

  • The quality of apartment houses has been gradually upgraded. However the changes in demographic composition of residents such as seniors, disabled persons, and etc. have not been considered in the process of planning. If apartment houses are designed on the base of the concept of universal design, their residents could live as long as they want to live in. This study evaluates the Korean standard-sized apartment housing units and the common spaces of those apartment buildings, and it's outdoor environments from the perspective of universal design. The observation and measuring was conducted with the questionnaire survey with 100 residents living in those housing units. 60 items were designed for evaluating them in relation to the principles of universal design. The results are as follows : 1) In general, the principles of universal design were relatively applied to the apartment houses. However their application needs to be broadened. 2) The number of parking lots needs to be increased and the width of individual parking lot to be increased. Also, the location of gazebo and senior center needs to be placed in easily accessible areas. 3) The shape, color, finishes of the ramp and the entrance area of the apartment building and housing unit should be made more homelike. Also, the entrance area of apartment building and housing unit needs to be made large enough for residents themselves and meeting with neighbors. 4) Among all of the rooms in a housing unit, bathroom should be improved immediately. Also, the width of doors should be at least 80cm wide and the floor should be made even.

CRT 부품용 탈가스 및 Thermal Desorption 측정장치 개발 (Outgassing and thermal desorption measurement system for parts of CRT)

  • CRT부품 탈가스(outgassing)를 온도를 변화 시켜가며 측정할 수 있고 시료의 열탈착 특성을 측정할 수 있는 TDS(Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy) 측정 장치를 설계 제작하였다. 제작된 시스템은 유효 배기속도를 조절할 수 있는 진공 장치와 시료의 온도조절 장치, 탈가스 측정 가치로 구성되어 있다. 제작된 시스템의 최저 도달 진공도는 $1{\times}10^{-7}$Pa 이하였고 가변 콘덕탄스(conductance)를 채택하여 유효 배기 속도를 조절 할 수 있도록 제작되었다. 가변 콘덕탄스 조절에 따른 시료위치에서의 유효 배기 속도 변화를 측정하였다. 텅스텐 히터와 온도조절기를 이용하여 시료의 온도는 600℃까지 ±1℃ 이내 오차로 조절 할 수 있었으며 온도 상승률도 조절할 수 있었다. 측정계기로 사용한 이온 진공계(ion gauge)와 사중극 질량분석기(quadrupole mass spectrometer)의 감도를 측정하여 정량적인 측정을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 제작된 시스템을 이용하여 CRT 공정에서의 부품별 온도별 측정 예와 공정분석에의 적용 예를 보였다.

  • 본 연구는 제한된 수의 핵연료의 경험적 파손자료로부터 핵연료 파손 확률을 현실적으로 예측하기 위해 결정론적 모델로부터의 파손화률 예측치와 실제 경험적 자료로부터의 파손 확률 예측치를 접합하는 방법을 시도하였다. 이 접합 방법에 의한 파손 화률 예측치는 결정론적 모델 또는 경험적 파손 자료로부터의 독립적인 예측치보다 신뢰도가 높다. 본 연구에서는 핵연료 성능 예측코드인 SPEAR의 방법론을 응용한 핵연료 파손 패턴의 체계적 발견법 (hierarchical pattern discovery)이 접합 모델에서의 결정론적 모델로부터의 예측치에 대한 가중치와 패턴 경계를 체계적으로 찾기 위해 고안되었다. 이 연구에서 개발된 접합 방법을 PROFIT모델과 경험적 파손자료를 이용하여 CANDU형 핵연료 재장전중 출력 상승에 의해 수반되는 핵연료파손 예측에 적응시켜 보았다.

고속도로 시설물별 차선반사도 다양성 연구 (A Study on Retroreflectivities of Pavement Markings by Freeway Facility Types)

  • 차선의 주요성능인 차선반사도는 도로의 기하구조 특성, 차선재료, 교통량, 일기, 환경요인등 다양한 요소에 의해 영향을 받게 된다. 그 결과 차선은 영향을 받은 정도에 따라 각기 다른 반사성능을 나타내게 된다. 본 논문은 공용중인 고속도로에서 차선의 반사성능 감소가 심할 것으로 예상되는 특정 기하구조 및 시설물 구간의 차선반사도 증감의 특성을 확인하여 밝히는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 현행 최소차선반사도 기준과 비교하여 차선 반사도의 기하구조 또는 시설물 구간에 따른 차별적 관리가 필요하다는 주장을 제시하고자 한다. 데이타 분석을 위해 중부고속도로 하남JCT-남이JCT구간에서 황색실선. 백색점선의 차선반사도를 측정하였다. 이 측정치를 도로시설물 특이사항별로 구분하고, 각 구간에 대해 진입 전, 해당 구간, 통과 후로 구분하여 각각의 차선반사도를 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 곡선구간, 오르막구간, IC램프구간, 터널구간에서 차선반사도가 상대적으로 낮게 측정되었다. 이로써 차선반사도의 기하구조 및 시설물 구간에 따른 차별적 적용 및 관리의 필요성을 제시하였다.

유니버설디자인 개념에 의거한 대학내 학생편의시설 평가 및 개선방향에 대한 연구 - 미국 텍사스주를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Evaluation and Improvement of Student Convenient Facilities at University Campuses, based on Universal Design Concept - Focused on the university campuses in Texas, U.S.A. -)

  • Student halls and their convenient facilities have been a focal point for various student activities at university campus. It has been for most of the student a place of unique memories and of attachment often associated with those good and bad school days. However, it is questionable whether these facilities are supportive and accessible for all of the students and other users including the handicapped. Therefore, based on the concept of UD(universal design) which was widely applied to U.S. institutions, this study intended to evaluate student hall facilities in U.S. and to provide an improvement direction for Korean UD application. For that purpose, four universities were selected for an in-depth analysis and 76 survey indices were utilized based on previous research. It was found that (1) design consideration without braille sign for VIP(visually impaired person) in student buildings can be differently approached with electronic devices; (2) the best demonstration of UD in student buildings can be seen in spacious flat pathway, easy access through ramp and wide entry area, necessary for people in wheel-chairs, but used by all, implying an increase of the ratio of public space; (3) one of the good UD features is an attractive physical environment rather than institutional appearance, in which they ultimately will support and completely adaptable at optimal levels by everyone; (4) consistent maintenance and management maximize the potential of UD principles and minimize physical limitations.

High Performance Current-Mode DC-DC Boost Converter in BiCMOS Integrated Circuits

  • A simulation study of a current-mode direct current (DC)-DC boost converter is presented in this paper. This converter, with a fully-integrated power module, is implemented by using bipolar complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (BiCMOS) technology. The current-sensing circuit has an op-amp to achieve high accuracy. With the sense metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) in the current sensor, the sensed inductor current with the internal ramp signal can be used for feedback control. In addition, BiCMOS technology is applied to the converter, for accurate current sensing and low power consumption. The DC-DC converter is designed with a standard 0.35 ${\mu}m$ BiCMOS process. The off-chip inductor-capacitor (LC) filter is operated with an inductance of 1 mH and a capacitance of 12.5 nF. Simulation results show the high performance of the current-sensing circuit and the validity of the BiCMOS converter. The output voltage is found to be 4.1 V with a ripple ratio of 1.5% at the duty ratio of 0.3. The sensing current is measured to be within 1 mA and follows to fit the order of the aspect ratio, between sensing and power FET.

개 정자의 보존방법에 따른 첨체 및 생존성의 변화 1. 저온보존에 따른 효과 (Acrosomal Changes and Survivability of Following Preservation of Dog Spermatozoa I. The Effects of Different Chilling Duration)

  • Artificial insemination (AI) with frozen or cooled semen is widely used in commercial fields of cattle and pig. Little is known about characteristics of canine sperm after freezing or cooling. For both practical and commercial goal, the canine semen treated with cooling and freezing should be carried out to exam the fundamentals, including sperm motility, survivability and fertilizing capacity. The aim of this study, thus, was to identify the effects of extended exposure to 4$0^{\circ}C$ on canine semen by motility, survivability, acrosomal changes following different duration. Fifteen ejaculates collected by digital manipulation twice per week from 3 dogs (Shih-Tzu) were divided to 16 aliquots after adding Tris-egg yolk (TE) buffer formulated by our laboratory, and cooled from 37 to 4$^{\circ}C$, by ramp rate of 0.6$^{\circ}C$/min. Each sample was evaluated by their motility, survivability and the acrosomal status at 0h (control), 2h, 12h and 1 d~10 d, respectively. The motility of spermatozoa was graded to 6 levels using the modified method of Seager. The survivability of sperm was assessed using an epifluorescence microscope after Fert/Light (Mole-cular Probes Inc.) staining. To estimate the proportion of the spermatozoa of intact acrosome, 200 spermatozoa were assessed in randomly selected fields, using epifluorescence microscope after FITC/PSA (Sigma) staining. At 2 h after cooling, the motility of most spermatozoa were assessed to be grade 0 and 1. At 12 h, high number of sperm were in grade 0 to 1, however, it was significantly (P<0.05) lower than that of 2 h. From 1 d to 4 d, ~50% of sperm was assessed to grade 0 to 1. On day 7, a little sperm were in grade 0 to 1. No sperm showed motility on day 10. Sperm motility was rapidly reduced by the percent of 10% of grade 0 to 1. From 2 h to 6 h, the number of live sperm was 90% and the sperm chilled for 10 days lived>50%. Acrosomal intact of spermatozoa exposed to 4$^{\circ}C$ for 2 h was 51%, supposed the sperm of control was 100%. Our results suggest that 1) this is easy to transfer and preservation for short periods 2) AI can be used by semen chilled for 6-Day.

LNT용 PGM-free DeNOx 촉매 개발을 위한 기초연구 (Basic Research to Develop PGM-free DeNOx Catalyst for LNT)

  • 본 연구는 LNT (lean NOx trap)용 DeNOx 촉매를 개발하기 위해 시도하였다. 이를 위해서 예비실험을 통해 Pt등 귀금속류등의 PGM (platinum group metal)을 사용하지 않는 4개의 촉매, Al/Co/Mn, Al/Co/Ni/Mn, Al/Co/Mn/Ca, Al/Co/Ni 혼합 금속 산화물을 선정하였다. 또한, 이들의 물리화학적인 성질을 평가하기 위해 XRD, EDS, SEM, BET 및 TPD test를 실시하였다. 이러한 평가를 실시한 결과, 4종의 촉매들은 스피넬(spinel)구조를 가지는 결정으로 이루어졌으며 NOx 기체들의 산화-환원 반응이 이루어지기에는 충분한 기공부피와 기공크기를 갖고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, TPD test를 통해서는 산화-환원이 일어날 수 있는 산점을 4종의 촉매가 모두 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 더욱이 ramp test를 통해서는 상용(commercial) 촉매와 비슷한 NO 산화 능력을 가지고 있는 것도 확인할 수 있었다. 이상의 결과들을 바탕으로, 본 연구에서 선정된 촉매들을 기본으로 하여 조성성분의 변화 및 활성 성분 첨가 등을 한다면, 보다 개선된 LNT용 DeNOx 촉매를 얻을 수 있을 것이라 기대할 수 있었다.
