This paper describes multiparticle finite element model (MPFEM)-based powder compaction simulations performed to demonstrate the densification of compacted aluminum powders. A 2D MPFEM was used to explore the densification of a collection of aluminum particles with different average particle sizes under various ram speeds. Individual particles are discretized using a finite element mesh for a detailed description of contact mechanics. Porous aluminum powders with average particle sizes of $20\;{\mu}m$ and $3\;{\mu}m$ were compressed uniaxially at ram speeds of 5, 15, 30, and 60 mm/min by using an MTS servo-hydraulic tester. The slow ram speed was of great advantage to powder densification in low compaction force due to sufficient particle rearrangement. Owing to a decrease in the average particle size of aluminum, the compaction force increased.
Log-Structured File System(LFS) is a disk based file system that is optimized for improving the write performance. LFS gathers dirty data in memory as long as possible, and flushes all dirty data sequentially at once. In a real system, however, maintaining dirty data in memory should be flushed into a disk to meet file system consistency issues even if more memory is still available. This synchronizations increase the cleaner overhead of LFS and make LFS to write down more metadata into a disk. In this paper, by adapting Non-volatile RAM(NV-RAM) we modifies LFS and virtual memory subsystem to guarantee that LFS could gather enough dirty data in the memory and reduce small disk writes. By doing so, we improves the performance of LFS by around 2.5 times than the original LFS.

The non-linear characteristics of ON states are important for the application to the high density cross-point memory industry because the sneak current in neighbor cells occurred during reading, erasing, and writing process. Kw of above 20 in ON states, which is the writing current @ Vwrite/the current @ 1/2Vwrite, was required in cross-point ReRAM memory industry. The high current density non-linear IV curve of ZnSe selector was shown and the ALD HfO2 switching device has the linear properties of ON states and the compliance current of 100 uA. To evaluate the performance of the selection device, we connected itto HfO2 switching device in series. The bottom electrode of the selection device was connected to the top electrode of the RRAM. All of the bias was applied with respect to the top electrode of the selection device, whereas the bottom electrode of the RRAM was grounded. In the cross-point application, 1/2Vwrite and -1/2Vwrite were applied to the word-line and bit-line, respectively, which were connected to the selected cell, and a zero bias was applied to the unselected word-lines and bit-lines. The current @ 1/2Vwrite of the unselected cells was blocked by the selection device, thus eliminating the sneak path and obtaining a writing voltage margin. Using this method, the writing voltage margin was analyzed on the basis of the memory size.

In this work, a one-dimensional combustor solver was constructed for the scramjet control m odel. The governing equations for fluid flow, Arrhenius based combustion kinetics, and the inje ction model were implemented into the solver. In order to validate the solver, the zero-dimensi onal ignition delay problem and one-dimensional scramjet combustion problem were considered and showed that the solver successfully reproduced the results from the literature. Subsequentl y, a ramjet analysis algorithm under subsonic speed conditions was constructed, and a study o n the inlet Mach number of the combustor was carried out through the thermal choking locatio ns at ram conditions. In such conditions, a model for precombustion shock train analysis was i mplemented, and the algorithm for transition section analysis was introduced. In addition, in or der to determine the appropriateness of the ram mode analysis in the code, the occurrence of a n unstart was studied through the length of the pseudo-shock in the isolator. A performance a nalysis study was carried out according to the geometry of the combustor.
The Precision Aerial Delivery System is an instrument designed to improve the poor landing accuracy of aerial delivery system with conventional circular parachutes, and is equipped with an Airborne Guidance Unit to safely transport supplies to the desired destination. Currently, the landing accuracy of the PADS product is reported as CEP50 100m and also differs significantly, depending on the actual topography and weather environment. In this study, HILS was constructed based on the 6DOF nonlinear modeling of PADS to analyze the maneuver characteristics of Ram Air Parachute under wind environments. By using the new algorithm a precision soft landing algorithm including Energy Management and Final Approach is designed. HILS results show that it is possible to achieve a precise soft landing within CEP50 40m, and it can be exploited to develop an actual PADS drop test.
The SPT If value has been known to be influenced by various factors, among which the actually delivered energy level of the falling ram has the most significant effect. If N values of different energy levels are to be applied in the general analysis which is based on N values of standard energy levee the safety of the foundation might be in danger or the design might be overestimated. In this study the actual falling velocity of the ram has been measured so that the energy level could be estimated. The results Indicated that the energy level should be considered in the analysis or the design in this country, since the measured values are different from the internationally accepted scandard value, N60
Flash memories are one of best media to support portable computers in mobile computing environment. The features of non-volatility, low power consumption. and fast access time for read operations are sufficient grounds to support flash memory as major database storage components of portable computers. However. we need to Improve traditional transaction management scheme due to the relatively slow characteristics of flash operation as compared to RAM memory. In order to achieve this goal. we devise a new scheme called flash-aware transaction management (FATM). FATM improves transaction performance by exploiting SRAM and W-Cache, We also propose a simulation model to show the performance of FATM. Based on the results of the performance evaluation, we conclude that FATM scheme outperforms the traditional scheme.

It has been known that the OFDM-based terrestrial broadcasting systems are significantly more sensitive to nonlinear distortion in high-power amplifiers (HPA's) than the broadcasting systems using single-carrier modulation technique. In this paper, an adaptive precompensator which can compensate the nonlinear effect of the HPA for OEDM systems is proposed. The proposed precompensator consists of a compensation table, realized by memory (RAM), and an adaptive algorithm which can update the values of the compensation table more efficiently using a

Semiconductor scientists and engineers ideally desire the faster but the cheaper non-volatile memory devices. In practice, no single device satisfies this desire because a faster device is expensive and a cheaper is slow. Therefore, in this paper, we use heterogeneous non-volatile memories and construct an efficient hierarchy for them. First, a small RAM device (e.g., MRAM, FRAM, and PRAM) is used as a write buffer of flash memory devices. Since the buffer is faster and does not have an erase operation, write can be done quickly in the buffer, making the write latency short. Also, if a write is requested to a data stored in the buffer, the write is directly processed in the buffer, reducing one write operation to flash storages. Second, we use many types of flash memories (e.g., SLC and MLC flash memories) in order to reduce the overall storage cost. Specifically, write requests are classified into two types, hot and cold, where hot data is vulnerable to be modified in the near future. Only hot data is stored in the faster SLC flash, while the cold is kept in slower MLC flash or NOR flash. The evaluation results show that the proposed hierarchy is effective at improving the access time of flash memory storages in a cost-effective manner thanks to the locality in memory accesses.

Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile(OMS/MP) is a document to quantify the operational and maintenance requirements based on the future operational environments and its mission and How to Fight concept in the development of the weapon system. It is important as a key document for the RAM goal setting in the early phase of weapon system development. The paper presents a systematic and practical submarine OMS/MP model processes with a deep analysis of relevant case studies and current status domestic and abroad. Especially, it proposes the unique Scenario Planning and Switch on List techniques with real case studies which have recently performed. The paper will contribute not only the basis of improved requirements for the development of weapon system but also the sustainment of readiness with the enhancement of RAM and reduction of total life cycle cost.
