  • To design the Molded Case Circuit Breaker(MCCB) requires electromagnetic analysis in contact system when the circuit breakers interrupt fault currents. This paper has made sure that there are two ways increasing arc driving force, one is a change of contact point and the other way inserts additionally the magnetic plate. Finally, we have carried out the analysis of eddy current to identify a decrease of arc driving force because of fault currents. In this paper, MCCB models have been analyzed base on 3D-FEM by Maxwell program.

  • To analyze building energy consumption, the building description for building energy performance analysis (BEPA) is required. The required data input for subject building is a basic step in the BEPA process. Since building information modeling (BIM) is applied in the construction industry, the required data for BEPA can be gathered from a single international standard file format like IFCXML. However, in most BEPA processes, since the required data cannot be fully used from the IFCXML file, a building description for BEPA must be created again. This paper proposes IFCXML-based automatic data input approach for BEA. After the required data for BEPA has been defined, automatic data input for BEPA is developed by a prototype system. To evaluate the proposed system, a common BIM file from the BuildingSMART website is applied as a sample model. This system can increase the efficiency and reliability of the BEPA process, since the data input is automatically and efficiently improved by directly using the IFCXML file.

  • Pressure, which is a dynamic characteristic of a floodgate, is predicted using an FSI analysis method. A fluid analysis model and a hydrology analysis model were used as analysis models. As a result of the analysis, we found that a warped model has smaller acceleration than a square model. Additionally, this numerical analysis technique was applied to the actual hydrology, and the analysis results were compared with the results of the vibration tests. As a result, we confirmed that there is a small difference between the results of the vibration tests and the results of the FSI analysis. Through this analysis, the applicability and reliability of the FSI analysis method were verified. We concluded that the pressure of a floodgate can be measured through an FSI analysis method.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a novel omnidirectional power divider/combiner configuration. By using the even- and odd- mode analysis. we analyse the proposed power divider/combiner circuit. In order to show the validity of the presented power divider/combiner circuit. We have designed and implemented the proposed circuit of the center frequency of 2.3GHz.

  • The tube hydroforming process has received much attention in the automotive industry because of its advantages compared to conventional manufacturing technologies. A wide range of products such as sub-frames, camshafts, radiator frames, axles and crankshafts are made by hydroforming process. The hydroformed parts often need to be structurally joined to other components during assembly. Therefore, these automotive parts need to be manufactured with a localized attachment flange. In this study, FE forming analyses of a part with a rectangular flanged shape was performed with Dynaform 5.5. Using the optimized conditions determined numerically, hydroforming experiments were performed. Then, the characterization of defects was analyzed. Finally, the accuracy of the optimized internal pressure condition as well as that of the initial ram position were evaluated. The results demonstrated that flanged parts can be successfully produced using the tube hydroforming process.

  • The present work is concerned with heat and mass transfer of an electrically conducting second grade MHD fluid past a semi-infinite stretching sheet with convective surface heat flux. The analysis accounts for thermophoresis and thermal radiation. A similarity transformations is used to reduce the governing equations into a dimensionless form. The local similarity equations are derived and solved using Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting iteration technique together with Runge-Kutta sixth order integration scheme. Results for various flow characteristics are presented through graphs and tables delineating the effect of various parameters characterizing the flow. Our analysis explores that the rate of heat transfer enhances with increasing the values of the surface convection parameter. Also the fluid velocity and temperature in the boundary layer region rise significantly for increasing the values of thermal radiation parameter.

  • Porthole die extrusion is the method which put the billet in the container and push it between die hole by ram. This method make it possible that product manufacture which have complex shape of area with excellent induction of area, in addition that this is economical. So this method is used as the basic manufacturing method of many industrial materials. The subject of this research is the forming technology development of heat sink which is being produced by extrusion process in my country. Flow condition of extrusion for heat sink, and metal flow of billet in the die are estimated by the means of rigid-plasticity finite element method.

  • New time schemes based on the FEM were developed and their performances were tested with 2D wave equation. The least-squares and weighted residual methods are used to construct new time schemes based on traditional residual minimization method. To overcome some drawbacks that time schemes based on the least-squares and weighted residual methods have, ad-hoc method is considered to minimize residuals multiplied by others residuals as a new approach. And variational method is used to get necessary conditions of ad-hoc minimization. A-stability was chosen to check the stability of newly developed time schemes. Specific values of new time schemes are presented along with their numerical solutions which were compared with analytic solution.

  • Rapid progress in many branches of technology has led to a demand on new materials such as high strength light weight alloys, powdered alloys and composite materials. The hydrostatic extrusion is essentially a method of extruding a clad rod through a die. In order to investigate the effect of the process conditions such as friction heat, deformation and clad thickness on the clad extrusion process, viscoplastic finite element simulations were conducted. A specific model for theoretical analysis used in this study is The single scalar variable version of Hart's model. An experiment also has been carried out using 1.5MN hydrostatic extruder with variable speed ram, LVDT and load cell for comparison. It is found that the hydrostatic extrusion pressure considering the effect of heat dissipation in this theoretical work was closer to the experimental pressure than the isothermal hydrostatic extrusion pressure.

  • KHP project sets total ownership cost as the target cost by applying CAIV and administrates total ownership cost through compromise analysis, a periodical estimate and management of design alternatives for each development. Based on expected cost results, sensibility of total ownership cost is analyzed complying with the change of reliability, availability, maintainability and other related factors. By considering potential total ownership cost saving methods, first of all, this paper identifies total ownership cost changing effects for each related factor, secondly, suggests total ownership cost and maintenance and operating cost saving methods via finding components that affect total ownership cost and lastly, suggests total ownership cost saving directions that may be applied to other projects in the future.
