We studied the optimal location where the radiation dose of radiological technologists is minimally measured. The measured scatter dose has been compared with the distance inverse square law. We measured the primary X-ray with different tube conditions (60, 70, 81 and 90 kVp) and distances (60, 120 and 180 cm). The scatter ray has been measured with various locations (42.5, 52.4 and 62.4 cm for front and back side, 0 to 60 cm with 10 cm interval for left and right side). The results of this study showed that the dose of primary X-ray was attenuated to 20.52 (27.20%), 28.58 (25.20%), 38.82 (26.32%) and 48.20 mR (26.27%) for each tube voltages at 120 cm. In addition, The dose were 7.06 (8.91%), 9.90 (8.73%), 13.64 (9.25%) and 16.60 mR (9.05%) at 180 cm. As for the scatter in front and back side, the attenuated dose were 0.15 mR (23.09%) and 0.15 mR (22.08%) at 120 cm, and 0.07 mR (10.43%) and 0.06 mR (8.83%) at 180 cm. Scatter was decreased in third quadrant. Therefore, it is recommended that radiological technologists should keep long distance from the object.
This paper presents general solutions for stochastic square duels with continuous interfiring times and various firing strategies such as standby (S), concentrated (C), seperated (I) and random (R) firings. Analysis of these square duels with negative exponential interfiring times and equivalent values of rates of fire and single shot kill probabilities reveal three important facts: i) Strategy (C) is advantageous against the opponent's strategy (S) and the advantage becomes more pronounced for lower values of single shot kill probabilities. ii) Strategy (I) is always better than strategy (C) no matter which of (C) and (I) the opponent uses and its relative advantege increases to a quarter as single shot kill probabilities increase to one but decreases to zero as they go to zero. iii) However, strategy (I) has no advantage over strategy (C) for small values of single shot kill probabilities. In this paper, square duels with strategies (C) and (I) are based on the assumptions that duelists are homogeneous and both duelists of one side fire simultaneously. The problem of relaxing these assumptions and extension of square ($2 \times 2$) duels to more general ($m \times n) duels are now being investigated.
This study involves a series of experiments on the buckling strength of eccentrically compressed cold-formed stainless steel square hollow-section columns. The principal parameters in this study are slenderness ratios ($L_k/r$ = 30, 50, 70) and magnitude of eccentricity e (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 mm) on the symmetrical end-moment. The objectives of this paper are to obtain the buckling loads by conducting a series of experiments and to compare the behavior of the eccentrically compressed cold-formed stainless steel square hollow-section columns with the results of the analysis. The ultimate buckling strength of the square-section members were determined with the use of a numerical method in accordance with the bending moment-axial force (M-P) interaction curves. The behavior of each specimen was displayed in the form of a moment-radian (M-${\theta}$) relationship. The numerically obtained ultimate-buckling interaction curves of the beam columns coincided with the results of the experiments.
The statistical experiment method is employed to optimize the deposition condition of Co film with DC magnetron sputtering process. The statistical treatment results showed the significance value below 0.05, low RMS error and R-sq value close to 1, which implied that our experiment and design were very reliable. We found that the sheet resistance decreased to -1.83Ω/$\square$ with the deposition temperature, increased to 11.17Ω/$\square$ with the deposition pressure, and decreased into -0.65Ω/$\square$ with the DC power. We also confirmed that the sheet resistance uniformity was mainly influenced by the deposition temperature as it decreased -4.04% at the temperature range of 25$\^{C}$∼147$\^{C}$. Finally, we report that the optimum condition of Co film using our statistical method of design of experiment is the deposition temperature of 25$\^{C}$, the deposition pressure of 12mTorr, and the DC power of 1500W.
The aim of this study is to propose a clustering method, called tree-structured clustering, by recursively partitioning continuous multivariate dat a based on overall $R^2$ criterion with a practical node-splitting decision rule. The clustering method produces easily interpretable clustering rules of tree types with the variable selection function. In numerical examples (Fisher's iris data and a Telecom case), we note several differences between tree-structured clustering and K-means clustering.
Albedo is one of the climate variables that modulate absorption of solar energy, and its retrieval is important process for climate change study. High spatial resolution and long-term consistent periods are important considerations in order to efficiently use the retrieved albedo data. This study retrieved surface broadband albedo based on Landsat 8 as high resolution which is consistent with Landsat 7. First of all, we analyzed consistency of Landsat 7 channel and Landsat 8 channel. As a result, correlation coefficient(R) on all channels is average 0.96. Based on this analysis, we used multiple linear regression model using Landsat 7 albedo, which is being used in many studies, and Landsat 8 reflectance channel data. The regression coefficients of each channel calculated by regression analysis were used to derive a formula for converting the Landsat 8 reflectance channel data to broadband albedo. After Landsat 8 albedo calculated using the derived formula is compared with Landsat 7 albedo data, we confirmed consistency of two satellite using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), R-square ($R^2$) and bias. As a result, $R^2$ is 0.89 and RMSE is 0.003 between Landsat 7 albedo and Landsat 8 albedo.

An accurate and efficient gradient estimation method on unstructured grid is presented by proposing a switching process between two Least-Square methods. Diverse test cases show that the gradient estimation by Least-Square methods exhibit better characteristics compared to Green-Gauss approach. Based on the investigation, switching between the two Least-Square methods, whose merit complements each other, is pursued. The condition number of the Least-Square matrix is adopted as the switching criterion, because it shows clear correlation with the gradient error, and it can be easily calculated from the geometric information of the grid. To illustrate switching process on general grid, condition number is analyzed using stencil vectors and trigonometric relations. Then, the threshold of switching criterion is established. Finally, the capability of Switching Weighted Least-Square method is demonstrated through various two- and three-dimensional applications.

An analysis of convection, in a fully developed laminar steady flow through the vertical square duct under the condition of variational symmetric heat flux, is considered. Finite element solution algorithm by Galerkin's method with triangular elements and linear interpolation polynominals for the temperature and velocity profiles are derived for the vertical square duct. The comparison of temperature distribution due to variational symmetric heat flux in the duct were made with available the other data when the condition of peripheral heat flux were uniform and zero. Numerical values for the dimensionless temperatures and Nusselt numbers at selected Rayleigh numbers and pressure gradient parameters were obtained at a few nodal points for the vertical square ducts and effects of corner in the duct were investigated.

The problem of visual words' synonymy and ambiguity always exist in the conventional bag of visual words (BoVW) model based object category methods. Besides, the noisy visual words, so-called "visual stop-words" will degrade the semantic resolution of visual dictionary. In view of this, a novel bag of visual words method based on PLSA and chi-square model for object category is proposed. Firstly, Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis (PLSA) is used to analyze the semantic co-occurrence probability of visual words, infer the latent semantic topics in images, and get the latent topic distributions induced by the words. Secondly, the KL divergence is adopt to measure the semantic distance between visual words, which can get semantically related homoionym. Then, adaptive soft-assignment strategy is combined to realize the soft mapping between SIFT features and some homoionym. Finally, the chi-square model is introduced to eliminate the "visual stop-words" and reconstruct the visual vocabulary histograms. Moreover, SVM (Support Vector Machine) is applied to accomplish object classification. Experimental results indicated that the synonymy and ambiguity problems of visual words can be overcome effectively. The distinguish ability of visual semantic resolution as well as the object classification performance are substantially boosted compared with the traditional methods.

In Italy, buffalo mozzarella is a largely sold and consumed dairy product. The fraudulent adulteration of buffalo milk with cheaper and more available milk of other species is very frequent. In the present study, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), in combination with multivariate analysis by partial least square (PLS) regression, was applied to quantitatively detect the adulteration of buffalo milk with cow milk by using a fully automatic equipment dedicated to the routine analysis of the milk composition. To enhance the heterogeneity, cow and buffalo bulk milk was collected for a period of over three years from different dairy farms. A total of 119 samples were used for the analysis to generate 17 different concentrations of buffalo-cow milk mixtures. This procedure was used to enhance variability and to properly randomize the trials. The obtained calibration model showed an R2 ≥ 0.99 (R2 cal. = 0.99861; root mean square error of cross-validation [RMSEC] = 2.04; R2 val. = 0.99803; root mean square error of prediction [RMSEP] = 2.84; root mean square error of cross-validation [RMSECV] = 2.44) suggesting that this method could be successfully applied in the routine analysis of buffalo milk composition, providing rapid screening for possible adulteration with cow's milk at no additional cost.
