Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Our study aimed to reveal molecular mechanisms. Microarray data of GSE15471 (including 39 matching pairs of pancreatic tumor tissues and patient-matched normal tissues) was downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in PDAC tissues compared with normal tissues by limma package in R language. Then GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses were conducted with online DAVID. In addition, principal component analysis was performed and a protein-protein interaction network was constructed to study relationships between the DEGs through database STRING. A total of 532 DEGs were identified in the 38 PDAC tissues compared with 33 normal tissues. The results of principal component analysis of the top 20 DEGs could differentiate the PDAC tissues from normal tissues directly. In the PPI network, 8 of the 20 DEGs were all key genes of the collagen family. Additionally, FN1 (fibronectin 1) was also a hub node in the network. The genes of the collagen family as well as FN1 were significantly enriched in complement and coagulation cascades, ECM-receptor interaction and focal adhesion pathways. Our results suggest that genes of collagen family and FN1 may play an important role in PDAC progression. Meanwhile, these DEGs and enriched pathways, such as complement and coagulation cascades, ECM-receptor interaction and focal adhesion may be important molecular mechanisms involved in the development and progression of PDAC.

Cloud detection algorithm is being developed as major one of the 16 baseline products of CMDPS (COMS Meteorological Data Processing System), which is under development for the real-time application of data will be observed from COMS Meteorological Imager. For cloud detection from satellite data, we studied two different algorithms. One is threshold technique based algorithm, which is traditionally used, and another is artificial neural network model. MPEF scene analysis algorithm is the basic idea of threshold cloud detection algorithm, and some modifications are conducted for COMS. For the neural network, we selected MLP with back-propagation algorithm. Prototype software of each algorithm was completed and evaluated by using the MTSAT-1R and GOES-9 data. Currently the software codes are standardized using Fortran90 language. For the preparation as an operational algorithm, we will setup the validation strategy and tune up the algorithm continuously. This paper shows the outline of the two cloud detection algorithm and preliminary test result of both algorithms.
R.W.B. Lewis called Greene's three novels - Brighton Rock, The Power and the Glory and The Heart of the Matter - Greene's 'trilogy'. Greene was paid full attention by many readers and many critics after publishing these Catholic novels. The themes and plots of his Catholic novels are unique and beyond those of traditional Catholicism. Greene is always willing to stand on the edge of reality. He always conflicts with the reality and eagerly searches for a higher, more spiritual dimension. If we view Greene's protagonists from an open-minded viewpoint, Pinkie of Brighton Rock will be saved at the mercy and grace of God in spite of being evil. Whiskey Priest of The Power and the Glory is worthy of being called a saint in spite of his drunkenness and adultery. Scobie of The Heart of the Matter will be within God's grace in spite of his suicide. The reason all protagonists are saint-like is clear and simple because they all have faith and sacrifice themselves to obey God's first commandment, to love others. To summarize the theme of Greene's 'trilogy', we can say that love is the most valuable in the world. God has mercy for all human beings. The protagonists love God and they love others. In fact, Greene's faith is found in his love of human beings and God.
The SliM (sliding memory plane) array processor has been proposed to alleviate disadvantages of existing mesh-connected SIMD(single instruction stream- multiple data streams) array processors, such as the inter-PE(processing element) communication overhead, the data I/O overhead and complicated interconnections. This paper presents the deisgn and implementation of SliM image processor ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) chip consisting of mesh connected 5 X 5 PE. The PE architecture implemented here is quite different from the originally proposed PE. We have performed the front-end design, such as VHDL (VHSIC hardware description language)modeling, logic synthesis and simulation, and have doen the back-end design procedure. The SliM ASIC chip used the VTI 0.8$\mu$m standard cell library (v8r4.4) has 55,255 gates and twenty-five 128 X 9 bit SRAM modules. The chip has the 326.71 X 313.24mil$^{2}$ die size and is packed using the 144 pin MQFP. The chip operates perfectly at 25 MHz and gives 625 MIPS. For performance evaluation, we developed parallel algorithms and the performance results showed improvement compared with existing image processors.
This study used SCS-CN method to estimate the real recharge of the study area which is one of the most reasonable techniques to estimate groundwater recharge when there is no available runoff data in a watershed. From the results of tile real recharge analysis for the study area using SCS-CN method, it was analyzed that the year 1994 when the drought was severe shotted the lowest recharge of 106.3mm with recharge rate of 12.4%, and the highest recharge of 285.6mm with recharge rate of 21.8% occurred in 1990. Yearly average recharge of 213.2mm was obtained, and tile average recharge rate was 16.9%/year. KOG-FLOW model which has powerful post process functions consists of setting environments for input parameters in Korean language, and help function is added to each input data. Detailed information for each parameter is displayed when the icon is placed on the input parameters, and geologic boundaries or initial head data for each layer can be set easily on work sheet. The relative errors (R. E.) for each model's observed values and calculated values are $0.156{\sim}0.432$ in case of KOG-FLOW, and $0.451{\sim}1.175$ in case of WINFLOW, therefore it is known that KOG-FLOW model developed in this study produced results compared to observed head values.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between marital satisfaction and the quality of life for women and men who live in a rural area in Korea through an international marriage. Methods: A descriptive correlational research design was used. Ninety-one women and 56 men were surveyed from May 1st., 2007 to April 6th., 2008. Data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Fisher's exact test. Two types of questionnaires were used: Marital satisfaction scale (MSS) and WHO quality of life-brief (WHOQOL-BREF). Result: There is a gap between men's age and women's in the average of their marriage ; 37 vs 24. In addition, men's marital satisfaction was much higher than women's (t =2.16, p=.032) and quality of life was also higher than women's (t=-0.85, p=.005). According to this survey, therefore, it has been shown that there is a positive correlation between marital satisfaction and the quality of life (r =.435, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to improve the quality of life, marital satisfaction should be promoted by practical family nursing programs and it is necessary for the internationally married women to be continuously provided with language education and cultural awareness.
Rapid changes in the economic, social and academic environments often provide opportunities to develop new and advanced technologies. In China, recent literature on the role of universities suggests that university-industry linkages (UILs) play a substantial role in the development of high-tech industries. Since 1979 when the country became more open and underwent economic reform, Chinese central authorities, local governments, and universities have continued to set up various science and technology (S&T) policies to stimulate UILs, contributing to China's technological progress and economic growth. This study examines the role of S&T policies on UILs such as transfer of technology, joint research, and spin-off creation with a particular focus on Nanjing University (NJU) in Jiangsu Province. Nanjing has over 53 universities, ranking it behind Beijing and Shanghai in terms of S&T and higher education opportunities. By adopting "institutional methodology," this study contends that UILs not only benefit universities and industry but also society in terms of job training, consulting activities, joint research, R&D results commercialization, patent licensing, new business creation, and other aspects. Finally, we suggest that the Chinese experience, though with some problems, might enhance our understanding of how to stimulate UILs through the arrangement of various S&T policies.
The purpose of this study is to understand the feature and phenomena of women's costume in Choson dynasty by the approach of semiotics. In order to do so, F Saussure's linguistic symbol theory, C. Peirce's conception on semiology theory and cultural semiology of R. Barthes ware used as tool to analyse traditional women's costumes in $Chos\v{o}n$ dynasty. And I choose basic conceptions based on their semiotic theory. which were langue & parole. dennotation & connotation, paradigm & syntagm, code, and analysed. structure of sign, communication though the non-language. The fashion of the $Chos\v{o}n$ dynasty contains various meaning as sign symbol system and makes the communication possible as it is mentioned above. We nay understand the sign symbol system described in the fashion sign by analysing the structure and meaning operation of sign on the basis of social, political, and idealistic background of the times, to understand the polysemy quality of the fashion.

Social media have emerged as new communication channels between consumers and companies that generate a large volume of unstructured text data. This social media content, which contains consumers' opinions and interests, is recognized as valuable material from which businesses can mine useful information; consequently, many researchers have reported on opinion-mining frameworks, methods, techniques, and tools for business intelligence over various industries. These studies sometimes focused on how to use opinion mining in business fields or emphasized methods of analyzing content to achieve results that are more accurate. They also considered how to visualize the results to ensure easier understanding. However, we found that such approaches are often technically complex and insufficiently user-friendly to help with business decisions and planning. Therefore, in this study we attempt to formulate a more comprehensive and practical methodology to conduct social media opinion mining and apply our methodology to a case study of the oldest instant noodle product in Korea. We also present graphical tools and visualized outputs that include volume and sentiment graphs, time-series graphs, a topic word cloud, a heat map, and a valence tree map with a classification. Our resources are from public-domain social media content such as blogs, forum messages, and news articles that we analyze with natural language processing, statistics, and graphics packages in the freeware R project environment. We believe our methodology and visualization outputs can provide a practical and reliable guide for immediate use, not just in the food industry but other industries as well.
