Penicillium sp. CB-20 was selected for strong polygalacturonase activity among various strains of molds found in soil. The optimum pH for the enzyme activity was 5.0 and optimum temperature was 4$0^{\circ}C$. The enzyme was relatively stable in acidic condition and unstable by heat treatment. The activation energy, Km and V$_{max}$ for the polygalacturonase were 2.499 Kcal/mol, 2.13$\times$10$^{-2}$mol/l, and 104.17 $\mu$mol/min. The activity of polygalacturonase was inhibited by Ag$^{+}$, Cu$^{++}$, Pb$^{++}$, Fe$^{+++}$, $Ca^{++}$, Na$^+$, Mn$^{++}$. The enzyme can be inactivated by the treatment ethylenediamintetra acetic acid, 2,4-dinitrophenol and $H_2O$$_2$. The results indicate the possible involvement of histidine, chelate and terminal amino group as active site. The enzyme was endo-type polygalacturonase.
The next generation high-speed train(HEMU-430X) is Korea's first electric multiple unit type, high speed vehicle resulting from a national R&D project. Tests have been conducted on the Kyungbu High Speed Line running at speeds up to 354.64km/h, and analysis of the dynamic behavior of the train was carried out to evaluate its safety. In this study, a simplified method using an accelerometer(the method specified in UIC 518 OR) was chosen to analyze the safety of the train's dynamic behavior. The section chosen for analysis section was ${\pm}10{\sim}20km/h$ with respect to the maximum speed point. In addition, we analyzed the trend of this dynamic behavior with increasing speed by comparing the analyzed values with those of UIC 518 OR. The dynamic behavior results met the limit values of UIC 518 OR and the study indicates that this trend is predicted to continue at speeds above 354km/h.
The tropical wet evergreen, tropical semi evergreen and moist deciduous forest types are projected to be impacted by climate change. In the Western Ghats region, a biodiversity hotspot, evergreen forests including semi evergreen account for 30% of the forest area and according to climate change impact model projections, nearly a third of these forest types are likely to undergo vegetation type change. Similarly, tropical moist deciduous forests which account for about 28% of the forest area are likely to experience change in about 20% of the area. Thus climate change could adversely impact forest biodiversity and product flow to the forest dependent households and communities in Uttara Kannada district of the Western Ghats. This study analyses the distribution of non-timber forest product yielding tree species through a network of twelve 1-ha permanent plots established in the district. Further, the extent of dependence of communities on forests is ascertained through questionnaire surveys. On an average 21% and 28% of the tree species in evergreen and deciduous forest types, respectively are, non-timber forest product yielding tree species, indicating potential high levels of supply of products to communities. Community dependence on non-timber forest products is significant, and it contributes to Rs. 1199 and Rs. 3561/household in the evergreen and deciduous zones, respectively. Given that the bulk of the forest grids in Uttara Kannada district are projected to undergo change, bulk of the species which provide multiple forest products are projected to experience die back and even mortality. Incorporation of climate change projections and impacts in forest planning and management is necessary to enable forest ecosystems to enhance resilience.

A method was developed for analyzing the radiation heat transfer from the duct burner flame to the heat exchanger in a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) in order to supplement the existing thermal design process. The burner flame and the heat exchanger were considered to be imaginary planes, and the flame temperature, surface, and emissivity were simplified using an engineering approach. Three analysis cases in which the duct burner position and fuel were changed were considered. The calculated flame radiative heat transfer and local flux on the heating surface were compared with those of 3-atomic gas radiation and convection. In all analysis cases, heat transfer by 3-atomic gas radiation was very small. The ratio of the flame radiative heat transfer to the convection heat transfer on the heating surface was estimated to be as high as 8-41%. Moreover, the local heat flux on the heating surface centerline was dominated by flame radiative heat flux.
The silane crosslinking method was applied for the crosslinking of polyethylene (PE). Crosslinking of PE was performed by, first grafting vinyltrimethoxysilane(VTMOS) to the main chain of PE using an extruder at $200{\sim}210^{\circ}C$, followed by exposure to three different silane crosslinking conditions (1. immersed in $80^{\circ}C$ water, 2. at $80^{\circ}C$ air forced convection oven, 3. exposed to air at room temperature ). The thermal characteristic changes of PE resins with respect to the silane crosslinking conditions were studied by measuring the crystalline melting temperature, density and crosslinking reaction rate. Because silane crosslinking was carried out at solid state, crystalline melting temperature, crystallinity, crystal growth rate, crosslinking reaction rate and the change in the density of silane crosslinked PE were affected by crosslinking condition and the type of base resin. The properties of silane crosslinked PE were different from those of Peroxide crosslinked PE which was crosslinked at the molten state. It was found, from the result of DSC analysis, that silane crosslinked linear low density polyethylene(LLDPE) crosslinked at room temperature had no secondary melting peak because the crosslinking reaction proceeds slowly as the crystalline grows. After crystallization, the melting point of PE was lowered by crystalline interruption of crosslinked site.
Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) were grafted to both ends of Pluronic$^{(R)}$ F68 ($(EO)_{75}(PO)_{30}(EO)_{75}$) triblock copolymer to produce poly{(lactic acid)$_m$-co-(glycolic acid)$_n$}-b-poly(ethylene oxide)$_{75}$-b-poly(propylene oxide)$_{30}$-b-poly(ethylene oxide)$_{75}$-b-poly{(lactic acid)$_m$-co-(glycolic acid)$_n$} (PLGA-F68-PLGA) pentablock copolymers. Molecular weights of PLGA blocks were controlled and five kinds of pentablock copolymers with different PLGA block lengths were synthesized using in-situ ring-opening polymerization of D,L-lactide and glycolide with tin(II) 2-ethylhexanoate ($Sn(Oct)_2$) catalyst. PLGA-F68-PLGA pentablock copolymers were characterized by $^1H$- and $^{13}C$-NMR, GPC, and TGA. The numbers (2m, 2n) of repeating units for lactic acid and glycolic acid inside PLGA segments were obtained as (48, 17), (90, 23), (125, 40), (180, 59), and (246, 64), with $^1H$-NMR measurement. From NMR data, the resultant molecular weights were determined in the range of 12,700-29,700, which were similar to those obtained from GPC. Polydispersity index was increased in the range of 1.32-1.91 as the content of PLGA blocks increased. TG and DTG thermograms showed discrete degradation traces for PLGA and F68 blocks, which indicate the weight fractions of PLGA blocks in pentablock copolymers can be calculated by TG profile and it is possible to remove PLGA block selectively. Hydrodynamic radius and radius of gyration of pentablock copolymer micelle were obtained in the range of 46-68 nm and 31-49 nm, respectively, in very dilute (i.e. 0.005 wt %) aqueous solution of THF:$H_2O$ = 10:90 by volume at $25^{\circ}C$.
The present study evaluated the difference in objective and subjective meat quality properties among the pure-breed boars of Duroc, Berkshire and Yorkshire. Ten longissimus lumborum (LD) muscles were collected from each breed after 24 h slaughtering. The breed type showed a significant effect on intramuscular fat content, moisture (p<0.01), pH, sarcoplasmic protein solubility and color (p<0.05), whereas cooking loss and Warner Blazer shear force (WBsf) did not differ among the breeds. The Yorkshire breed showed significant (p<0.05) lower sarcoplasmic protein solubility, pH and CIE $a^*$ value when compared with other breeds. The sensory panels identified Duroc as having greater overall acceptability and higher rating values than other breeds. The oleic acid content was significantly lower in the Berkshire (29.85 %) than in the Duroc (40.19 %) and Yorkshire breeds (38.18 %, p<0.05). The Yorkshire breed showed the most desirable ratio of polyunsaturated and saturated fatty acids (0.31) than the Berkshire (0.16) and Duroc breeds (0.15, p<0.05). 40 volatile compounds have been identified and quantified, while aldehydes were the most abundant among flavor substances. Aldehydes were negatively correlated with oleic acid content (p<0.05). Current data indicated that each breed had their own merits and deficiencies in terms of meat qualityThe Yorkshire breed showed a greater number of weak points. Furthermore, this study indicated that individual fat-driven flavor components were greatly influenced by fatty acid composition. The polyunsaturated fatty acids did not show any negative effects on meat flavor if cooked meats were consumed soon after cooking.

Distribution of a series of procedure for establishment and revision for various instructions on information security for public institutions and diversified process of performance system following the compliance with the instruction are applied to the integrated procedure that any revision or change has led to the studies that are applied on the basis of all environment requirements and the facilitation of such studies in the integrated procedure for the entire information security. However, as the difference of possessing the work territory for each institution, maintaining and securing the security with the heterogeneous type for subject, the information still displays the issues to link to a series of process to the procedure to secure the foregoing as stability, In addition, the notice should be made by the public institutions for the result structured and notified on the basis of budget and the additional time and expenses for re-distributing to the private institutions would be another issue for the part to accomplish the purpose of such study. Therefore, under this study, the subject of information security of similar institutions should be sorted out and statistically classified, and it proposes the integration procedure through a series of diversity and multi-change process and summarize the same in the proposed procedure to engage in studies to secure the optimal stability.
This study inquired following research questions by a narrative research method : What was the job of an engineer in mechanical design field? How did he fulfill his job-related learning in his workplace? What were the context and the characteristic of the job-related learning in the workplace? And some implications of the job-related learning on engineering education were discussed. We identified that the research participant's career as a mechanical engineer has developed through three stages. At first, he engaged on conceptual design of a semi-conductor test machine through self-initiated learning from basic to whole system of the machine. At second stage, he leaded a design group for the concrete design of a ball type semi-conductor test machine. In this stage he learned the meaning of cooperation and cooperative learning. At third stage, he initiated to found an entrepreneur company that was specified to design a semi-conductor test machine. He became CEO of the company. He learned the R & D policy making through contacts with global company, visiting exhibition in abroad. Eventually his main task as a mechanical engineer was the problem solving in the process of machine design. He had experienced and learned through his works : project management, independent fulfilling of tasks, functional analysis and reverse engineering, conceptualizing and test, cohesive cooperation, dialogue and discussion, mediation of conflict, human relationship, leadership. The implication of the narrative analysis on engineering education is, proposed, to give the students more chances to experience and to learn such activities.

The effect of eight varieties of whole crop rice silage (WCRS) harvested at four stages of maturity were investigated for in situ DM and N degradability, ME and MP yield and content in an 8${\times}$4 factorial experiment. The varieties were Akichikara, Fukuhibiki, Habataki, Hamasari, Hokuriku 168, Kusanami, Tamakei 96 and Yumetoiro. Hamasari and Kusanami were forage varieties while all others were grain varieties. Forages were harvested on 10, 22, 34 and 45 days after flowering, ensiled and kept in airtight condition. Between 45 and 49 days after ensiling, silages opened, chopped and milled green to pass through 4 mm screen. Samples were incubated in the rumen of two Holstein steers for 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h over eight 4 d periods. Bags at 0 h were washed in a washing machine. Variety affected DM (p<0.001: except 'a+b', p<0.01) and N (p<0.001) degradability characteristics of WCRS. Stages of maturity also affected DM (p<0.001: except 'a+b', p<0.05; 'c', p<0.08) and N (p<0.01: except 'c', p<0.05) degradability characteristics of WCRS. Interactions between variety and stages of maturity occurred in all DM (p<0.001) and N (p<0.001) degradability characteristics except (p>0.05) for DM 'b', DM 'c', DM 'a+b' nd N 'c'. Effective DM degradability was higher in grain varieties than forage varieties and degradability increased with maturity. N availability decreased only slightly with maturity. Variety was the key factor for N degradability characteristics of WCRS since variety accounted for most of the total variation for degradability characteristics. Both ME and MP content and yield were higher (p<0.001) in grain varieties, and they increased (p<0.001) with the maturity. The results clearly demonstrated that the grain type varieties contained higher ME and MP content than forage varieties, and increase in maturity increases both ME and MP content of WCRS.
