The rapid development of information technology is making large changes in our lives today. Also the infrastructure and services are combinding with information technology which predicts another huge change in our environment. However, the development of information technology brings various types of side effects and these side effects not only cause financial loss but also can develop into a nationwide crisis. Therefore, the detection and quick reaction towards these side effects is critical and much research is being done. Intrusion detection systems can be an example of such research. However, intrusion detection systems mostly tend to focus on judging whether particular traffic or files are malicious or not. Also it is difficult for intrusion detection systems to detect newly developed malicious codes. Therefore, this paper proposes a method which determines whether the present network model is normal or abnormal by comparing it with past network situations.

In order to enhance the efficacy of norovirus detection by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and nested PCR, this study developed a norovirus mRNA concentration method using poly oligo dT-conjugated magnetic beads. An efficient norovirus detection protocol was performed on commercial ham using 2 viral elution buffers (glycine buffer and Tris beef extract buffer) and 2 concentration solutions [polyethylene glycol (PEG) and zirconium hydroxide]. The different approaches were verified by RT-PCR and nested PCR. This method was performed on ham in less than 8 hr by artificial inoculation of serial dilutions of the virus ranging from 1,000 to 1 RT-PCR unit/mL. The viral extraction and concentration method had 10-fold higher sensitivity using the combination of Tris beef extract buffer and PEG as compared to glycine buffer and zirconium hydroxide. This method proved that RT-PCR and nested PCR have the sensitive ability to detect norovirus in commercial ham, in that norovirus was successfully detected in artificially contaminated samples at a detection level as low as 1-10 RT-PCR unit/mL. Overall, such a detection limit suggests this protocol is both quick and efficient in terms of its potential use for detecting norovirus in meat products.

It is well known that the accident of vehicles carrying hazardous materials incurs huge losses economically and socially. To detect and respond rapidly against the accident of a vehicle carrying hazardous materials, it is essential to estimate the relative navigation information between the forward tractor module and the backward trailer module of the vehicle reliably and accurately. In this paper, a precise relative positioning system based on GPS is designed, implemented, and evaluated as a prerequisite to design an effective relative navigation system for the vehicle carrying hazardous materials. An experiment using field-collected 10 Hz real GPS measurements showed that the designed relative positioning system achieves 22 cm accuracy within 15 epochs by float solutions. Also, it was found that cm-level integer solutions can be generated reliably after the quick convergence of float solutions.
In this paper, I have developed an automatic distress notification system (ADNS) working with an external VHF device in small ship. The proposed system is as part of a small ship disaster analysis system which can detect and quickly respond to the small ship disaster. The automatic notification system receives the location information signal from the disaster analysis system, and the signal will be converted into voice signal to broadcast of the accident position through external VHF device. It will be sending a distress message as form of voice information through VHF device until sinking under the water. Through this research, I expect we'll be make a quick response and prevent a terrible loss of human life.

A surgery of penile translocation was performed on a seven-month-old male calf born in August 26, 2007. With a penis deviated, as to prevent proper coitus on a dairy farm, the calf would be introduced to the group of cows and heifers before sniffing around to detect which one is in heat and to indicate to a veterinarian the right time for artificial insemination or embryo transfer. This study showed how to make a teaser bull in his young age.

In large station with high density traffic, trains can be hardly controlled by CTC but by station dispatcher because CTC has difficulties in monitoring all states of affairs happening within each station such as departures, arrivals of many trains from different lines and shunting of trains to move between yards and platforms, etc. Therefore the station's dispatcher has to make quick decision about how to reschedule the times and routes for all the trains scheduled within a specific time window. And such decision becomes harder when an unexpected delay occurs because a delay occurring in a train propagates other trains as time goes on. Generally, it is called the conflict detection and resolution to adjust beforehand the distorted schedule due to a delay to original schedule. Our research is different from the state of the arts in that ours determines simultaneously the routes and the times of arrival and departure of trains, although others do only the arrival and departure time of the trains without considering the alternative routes and shunting of the station. This study suggests a mathematical approach for how to detect in advance and resolve efficiently the conflicts occurring within a station and it will be shown how to reduce delay using our approach by means of analysing the schedule of ChyungRyangRi station.

Recently, the super capacitor(EDLC) which has drawn attention as a new energy storage element has a lot of advantage such as no maintenance, long lifetime and quick charge/discharge characteristics with large current. The objective of this paper is propose a parameter measurement method to detect the changes in equivalent series resistor (ESR) and the capacitance value of a super capacitor in order to analysis the internal characteristic and worn-out state of a super capacitor. For proposed method, only the capacitor voltage measurement using simple analog switch is required. In addition, experimental results of voltage sag compensation system in order to compensate the input voltage drop during short-term power interruption adopted super capacitor are presented.

The study of fish robot is a main subject that are related with the propulsive force comparison using a varying amplitude and frequency for body and tail motion trajectory, and the quick turn using a proper trajectory function. In this study, when a fish robot thrusts forward, feedback control is difficult to apply for a fish robot, because body and tail joints as a sine wave are rolled. Therefore, we detect the virtual position based on the path of the fish robot, define the angle errors using the detected position and the look-ahead point on the given path, and design a controller to track given path. We have found that the proposed method is useful through the computer simulations.
This study was to demonstrate a rapid novel method for detection of adulterated cow milk in goat milk using modified staining protocol after native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). Samples of cow milk and goat milk containing 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0% (v/v) of cow milk were analyzed. Low levels of cow milk mixed in goat milk were identified by the presence of higher mobility of $\beta$-lactoglobulin A ($\beta$-Lg A) in cow milk. By mini-gel electrophoresis, a distinguishable protein profile was visualized in 25 min using the modified Coomassie blue staining solution, in which methanol (50%) was replaced with ethanol (20%) and the concentrations of Coomassie blue and acetic acid were reduced from 2 to 0.13% and 10 to 5%, respectively. To visualize the milk proteins, gels in the staining solution were water-bathed in boiling water for 5 min and then cooled down immediately for 3-5 min. The sensitivity of this method is relatively high, allowing examination of 1% cow milk in goat milk. The procedure presented here is also very cost-effective due to less reagents needed. This simplified method would be useful and applicable to dairy industry for routine examination of goat milk.

Seventy-six animals including cattle, sheep, horses, 6 species of zoo animals were employed for collection of fresh feces in order to detect verotoxigenic Esherichia coli (VTEC) by safe, quick and sensitive PCR-based molecular methods. Bacterial cell disruption with bead-beating followed by bacterial DNA purification with hydroxyapatide chromatography and gel filtration allowed DNA preparation from animal feces with high recovery and purity. A mountain goat was firstly shown by PCR and sequencing to shed verotoxin 2 gene (vt2) that was used to generate vt2 probe and second primer set for nested PCR to attempt more sensitive detection. Most sensitive nested PCR revealed that 45% of tested cattle and 47% of tested zoo animals were VTEC-positive, while least sensitive normal PCR detected VTEC from none of these animals except a mountain goat. Moderately sensitive detection by PCR in combination with hybridization suggested that the VTEC density varied between the VTEC-positive cattle.
