울산단층 주변 제4기 단층의 유형분류와 분절화 (Classification of Quaternary fault types and segmentation around the Ulsan Fault System)

  • Quaternary faults found around the Ulsan Fault System can be divided into 4 types based on the fault outcrop features : Type I fault cuts basements and Quaternary deposits of which remain on both hangwall and footwall. Type II fault is developed only in Quaternary deposit. Type III fault has inclined unconformity after Quaternary faulting. Type IV fault is common type around the Ulsan fault system and has horizontal unconformity surface after cutting earlier Quaternary deposit. After erosion, later Quaternary deposit overlays on both old deposit and basement. The Ulsan Fault System consists of three segments at large scale from north to south based on the lineament rank and shape, Quaternary fault location, and slip rate. The segment boundaries are identified by the existence of the two intervals which show no lineaments and Quaternary faults. But, if detail fault parameters could be obtained and used in segmentation, it can be divided into more than three segments.

Industrial Networks and Evolution of the International Quaternary Place System

  • This study investigated the nature of spatial concentration and dispersion of corporate control within an international system of decision-making centers. It introduces a simplified model of the global evolution of quaternary places. Linked to the national quaternary place model, the proposed model is useful for examinations involving real world situations associated with international corporations. This five stage model emphasizes the importance of the organizational structure of large corporations, industrial networks and the development of information technology. It suggests the dispersion of international quaternary places along with the diversification of corporate control linkages among quaternary centers. A case study for 1974-1991 uses information statistics to identify the current stage of the international quaternary system. The result is in general agreement with major elements of the stage model. This theoretical concept and empirical research contribute to the expansion of quaternary place theory to the global scale in particular, and to the development of location analysis in general.

  • In this paper, we designed 12Bit DAC(Digital to Analog Converter) that applied to multiple-valued logic system to Binary system. The proposed D/A Converter structure consists of the Binary to Quaternary Converter(BQC) and Quaternary to Analog Converter(QAC). The BQC converts the two input binary signals to the one Digit Quaternary output signal. The QAC converts the Quaternary input signal to the Analog output signal. The proposed DAC structure can implement voltage mode DAC that high resolution low power consumption with reduced chip area. And also, it has advantage of the easy expansion of resolution and fast settling time.

  • 1기압 298.15 K에서 water + tetrahydrofuran + butyl acetate + isoamyl alcohol를 포함한 4성분 액-액추출계의 상평형에 대하여 연구하였다. Butyl acetate + isoamyl alcohol을 혼합용매로 사용하였으며, 수용액으로부터 tetrahydrofuran를 추출함에 있어서 혼합용매 사용의 효과를 고찰하기 위하여 각 4성분계에 대한 용해도 곡선, 대응선(Tie-line), 분배도, 선택도를 측정하였다. 또한 실험에 의한 대응선(Tie-line) 데이터를 UNIFAC 모델식으로부터 예측된 값들과 비교한 결과, 액-액평형에 대한 UNIFAC 모델이 본 실험에 설정된 4성분계에 대하여 혼합용매 비율 75/25, 50/50, 25/75에 따라 3.35, 5.21, 5.65%의 편차가 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper proposes high performance $8{\times}8$ multiplier using current-mode quaternary logic technique. The multiplier is functionally partitioned into the following major sections: partial product generator block(binary-quaternary logic conversion), current-mode quaternary logic full-adder block, quaternary-binary logic conversion block. The proposed multiplier has 4.5ns of propagation delay and 6.1mW of power consumption. Also, this multiplier can easily adapted to binary system by the encoder, the decoder. This circuit is simulated under 0.35um standard CMOS technology, 5uA unit current, and 3.3V supply voltage using Hspice.

  • Quaternary prevention should be implemented to minimize harm to patients because the ultimate goal of medicine is to prevent disease and promote health. Primary care physicians have a major responsibility in quaternary prevention, and the establishment of clinical epidemiology as a distinct field of study would create a role charged with minimizing patient harm arising from over-medicalization.

Phase Change of Precipitates and Age Hardening in Rapidly Solidified Mg-Zn-Ca Base Alloys

  • Various kinds of Mg-Zn-Ca base alloys were rapidly quenched via melt spinning process. The meltspun ternary and quaternary alloy ribbons were heat-treated, and then the effects of additional elements on age hardening behavior and phase change of precipitates were investigated using Vickers hardness tester, XRD, and TEM equipped with EDS system. In ternary alloys, age hardening was mostly due to the distribution of $Mg_6Ca_2Zn_3$ and $Mg_2Ca$. The stable phases of precipitates were varied according to the aging temperature and the alloy composition. With the increase of Ca content, $Mg_2Ca$ precipitates were detected more than $Mg_6Ca_2Zn_3$ precipitates. In quaternary alloys, the precipitates taken from Mg-Zn-Ca-Co were identified as new quaternary phase, whereas those taken from Mg-Zn-Ca-Zr as MgZnCa containing Zr. In general, the ternary alloy showed higher peak hardness and thermal stability than the quaternary considering the total amounts of the solutes. It implies that the structure of precipitate should be controlled to have the coherent interface with the Mg matrix.

  • Geomorphological development and distribution at the macro scale provide a clue to the geotectonic characteristics that have affected the geomorphological system. This is because the developmental characteristics and distribution of the landform at the macro scale remain spatial characteristics due to tectonic processes, such as fault activity. From the perspective of tectonic geomorphology, this study identified the developmental characteristics and distribution of the Quaternary landforms in central-southern Yangsan fault and discussed its relevance to fault activity. In this paper, we presented examples and results of morphotectonic analysis of the Yangsan fault, and will present the results of age dating, stratigraphic relationship of the Quaternary landforms, and calculation of cumulative slip rate in the next paper.

  • Quaternary ammonium groups were introduced to Starburst polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers for a gene carrier. These quaternary dendritic carriers exhibited reduced cytotoxicity on 293T cells compared to parent dendrimers examined and their transfection efficiency were similar with parent dendrimers. Quaternization could be a promising tool to improve properties of dendrimers as a gene delivery carrier.
