A Prospective Analysis of Dynamic Loss of Breast Projection in Tissue Expander-Implant Reconstruction

  • Background Breast projection is a critical element of breast reconstruction aesthetics, but little has been published regarding breast projection as the firm expander is changed to a softer implant. Quantitative data representing this loss in projection may enhance patient education and improve our management of patient expectations. Methods Female patients who were undergoing immediate tissue-expander breast reconstruction with the senior author were enrolled in this prospective study. Three-dimensional camera software was used for all patient photographs and data analysis. Projection was calculated as the distance between the chest wall and the point of maximal projection of the breast form. Values were calculated for final tissue expander expansion and at varying intervals 3, 6, and 12 months after implant placement. Results Fourteen breasts from 12 patients were included in the final analysis. Twelve of the 14 breasts had a loss of projection at three months following the implant placement or beyond. The percentage of projection lost in these 12 breasts ranged from 6.30% to 43.4%, with an average loss of projection of 21.05%. Conclusions This study is the first prospective quantitative analysis of temporal changes in breast projection after expander-implant reconstruction. By prospectively capturing projection data with three-dimensional photographic software, we reveal a loss of projection in this population by three months post-implant exchange. These findings will not only aid in managing patient expectations, but our methodology provides a foundation for future objective studies of the breast form.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 보행 공간 특성에 따른 보행 환경 구성요소를 정량적 지표로 단순화 시킨 보행 지수를 개발하여, 도시 전체 가로는 물론 도시 내 근린 주거 단위의 전반적인 친 보행 환경 정도(쾌적성, 미관)와 보행자의 이동 편의성을 측정하고 이의 결과 시각화 할 수 있는 웹 기반 GIS 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 우선, 국내외 선행연구에서 GIS로 정량화 할 수 있는 지표를 반영하여 보행환경 평가가 가능한 지표를 개발하고 적용하였다. 또한, 평가지표 개발을 위해서는 계층분석법(AHP:Analytic Hierarchy Process)을 활용하였으며 GIS 웹 서비스 연동을 통해 연구 지역에 대한 보행환경 평가 결과를 가시화하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 측정 모형은 실제 물리적인 보행 공간을 기반으로 가상의 시스템에 적용되어 보행 이동 패턴의 가시화, 보행 환경의 쾌적성과 편의성 평가, 예측에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Since the late of 20th Century, philosophy, art, and aesthetics have attention to the movement of object that persue the dynamics and qualitative change, not existing fixed and quantitative object. Qualitative continuity, including discontinuity of specific spot and surface that occurs sudden change, is distinct characteristics considered in contemporary logo civilization, which combines and disperses according as various purpose among the different elements and objects. Therefore, I studied about the characteristics of qualitative continuity that creates the change and the differentiation continuously through the "formative characteristics of the continuity expressed in contemporary fashion" of my preceding paper. This paper is the following study of above mentioned paper, and Investigates about aesthetic consciousness leading to the various change. This is intends to consider the trans-aesthetic consciousness that accepts dynamic movement and change the different object and reforms new relationship continuously. This studies' conclusion is as follows; 1) sublimity-Infinity, de-constructive, excessive 2) jouissance - functional, structural 3) paradox-perceptual, spatial. A study about the trans-aesthetic consciousness would help to offer philosophical basis, and make a change building aesthetic foundation in explaining various relationship like as phenomenon of the retro, neo, post, fusion expressed since the late of 20th Century.

John Galliano 작품에 표현된 웃음의 미학 (The Comic Expression depicted on John Galliano's Works)

  • The historicism and romanticism of John Galliano's designs are rivaled only by the spectacular and theatrical nature of his fashion shows; romantic silhouette, the complexity of the cut and, of course, the painstaking attention to historical detail. Galliano's approach is very much that of a British designer in that he absorbs wildly diverging historical and cultural elements to invent new hybridizations of the contemporary. Galliano started his career as part of the wildly uninhibited avant-garde London design scene. His designs were twisted and artfully torn, weired and also beautiful. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Comic Expression depicted on John Galliano's works by borrowing the Comic. The Comic or the Comedy is a kind of art form that signifies exciting effects, and so, is a means of raising a laugh. The similar concepts of the Comic already were depicted by means of transformation and distortion of form, satire, fantastic pastiche and reversion of substances on Cubism, Dada, Surrealism, Pop Art and Postmodernism. Therefore, John Galliano selected the quixotic expressional methods to seek for having playful fun. The aesthetics of the Comic is the beauty based on quantitative or qualitative contradiction between expectations and realizations. That is, the Comic is characterized by getting rid of stress through laugh with clarifying a subject of contradiction. This study found that John Galliano's designs are expressed the quixotic comic on Historical image, Exotic image and Primitive image to make a complaint against the social evils.

까르띠에와 티파니의 유튜브 브랜드 채널을 통한 브랜드 스토리 동영상 전략 비교 분석 연구 (A comparative analysis of Cartier's and Tiffany&Co.'s strategies for brand story videos on their YouTube brand channels)

  • As social media are emerging as essential communication channels for corporates in all areas, luxury jewelry brands have implemented enhanced strategies for brand story videos by creating brand channels on YouTube. In this study, a comparative analysis of the videos made available by Cartier and Tiffany&Co. on their YouTube Brand Channels was conducted, with the aim of identifying their strategic characteristics. The research method encompassed, both literature review and empirical investigations. A quantitative analysis was conducted by means of the 'HEART' model, a type of luxury jewelry brand story, and the following common strategic elements were identified. First, in their brand story videos both brands focus primarily on 'theme'. Second, 'relationship' and 'artisanship' are emphasized in addition to 'theme'. Third, the videos incorporate high level aesthetics to stimulate the fantasies and dreams of their audiences. The strategic differences between the brands are as follows. : First, 'artisanship' is given the greatest significance along with 'theme' in Cartier videos, while 'relationship' has prime significance in Tiffany&Co. videos. Second, a difference between a European approach and an American approach towards luxury brand building is evident, with Cartier hosting exhibitions while Tiffany&Co. provides gala videos instead.

사무공간의 자연채광에 있어 반사광의 효용성에 관한 연구 (The Role of Reflected Sunlight in Daylighted Office Environment)

  • An increase in the design of commercial buildings with daylighting is beginning to receive more attention, claimed by some as a second revolution in architecture. The benefits of daylighting may vary significantly because a characteristic of daylight is the way in which it varies. Indirect sunlight, however, received in the interior of a building after reflection, can serve a useful purpose as the main source of illumination. In a cloudy climate it can serve as an occasional welcome addition to the available skylight. Also, site constraints or surrounding urban context may necessitate using reflected light sources, or such sources may be an integral part of the overall design objectives and aesthetics of the proposed projects. When reflected sunlight is introduced into a space, its role in general illumination is what is of interest in this study. Results show that reflected sunlight may help the general illumination in almost same level of significance as daylight from diffuse sky. It is also summarized that the contribution of reflected sunlight to general illumination through the year round may be even and uniform regardless of the season. Consequently, introduction of reflected sunlight should be regarded as one of the successful means to enhance the visual environment in quantitative and qualitative way.

Acceptance of Social Media as a Marketing Tool : A Quantitative Study

  • Purpose - The purpose of current paper is to identify features of advertisements at social media that generate the ad-click and to further identify if these advertisements lead to purchase. If no purchase is made, then reasons for not making purchase are identified. Users' purchase experience after users clicked at advertisements are also studied. Research design, data, and methodology - Research design followed is exploratory research, where various factors leading to ad-clicks and generating purchase at social media platform were explored. Raw data was gathered by means of survey among a sample of 185 respondents in India using online structured questionnaire. GLM model and multinomial regression were used to analyze the data. Results - Several factors including endorsement by friends, advertisement aesthetics, product reviews, and aggressive pricing played major role in generating ad-clicks. Major impediment to purchase on were product misrepresentation in advertisement, false discounts, and site security. Female users clicked more on social media advertisements and made more purchases compared to their male counterpart. Conclusions - Social media advertisements have significant positive effect on buying behavior of online customers. Transactions culminating from social media ad-click generated significant positive experience for social media users. Thus, social media can be effective marketing tool.

보철물 수복 형태에 따른 T-Scan Novus와 Dental prescale II를 이용한 교합력 평가 활용 증례 (Evaluation of occlusal strength using T-Scan Novus and Dental prescale II in dental prosthodontic treatments: A case report)

  • 보철 치료 시 교합관계의 진단과 분석은 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 치료 시행 전 면밀한 교합분석 및 평가가 선행되어 안정적인 악간 관계를 회복시켜 주어야 하며, 치료 과정 및 정기 검진 시에도 이에 대한 평가는 필수적이다. 최근, 치과용 기기와 디지털 처리 방식의 발달로 환자의 교합관계를 기록할 수 있는 새로운 정량적 분석 방법들이 소개되고 있다. 그 중 T-Scan Novus (Tekscan Inc., S. Boston, MA, USA)는 압력측정센서를 이용하여 상하악 치아의 초기접촉점과 교합접촉점의 상대적인 강도를 나타내며 치아의 교합접촉 시간, 교합력의 전후방, 좌우균형을 비교할 수 있다. Dental prescale II (GC Co., Tokyo, Japan)는 압력감지필름을 이용하여 교합접촉점을 스캔하여 접촉점의 밀도를 분석하는 방법으로 최대한 자연스러운 교합상태 치열의 교합력 분포와 강도를 측정할 수 있다. 환자의 치아 상실 부위와 범위에 따라 4-unit 고정성 국소의치, 가철성 국소의치, 총의치, 완전구강회복술을 시행하였다. 적절한 교합 분석을 위해, 초진, 각 치료 단계, 치료 직후 및 정기검진 시의 환자의 교합을 T-Scan Novus와 Dental prescale II를 이용하여 정량적으로 비교, 평가하였다. 보철수복 치료과정에서 교합 분석에 대한 이해도를 제고할 수 있었고, 기능 및 심미적으로 환자와 술자 모두 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었기에 이를 보고하고자 한다.

1920-30년대 한국 만화의 '웃음'과 미학적 특징 (The Laughter and Aesthetics of Korea Manwha on 1920-30s)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1920-30년대 만화의 특징을 분석해 식민지 조선의 대중문화 속에 발현되는 웃음의 정서를 살펴보고, 이 시기 만화의 웃음이 어떠한 영향 관계 속에서 조선 만화의 미학을 체계화해 나갔는지 밝히는 데에 있다. 1920-30년대 대중문화 안에서 유머/웃음은 센티멘털이라는 음울한 분위기가 감도는 전반적인 분위기에서 새롭게 부상한 감각이었으며, 그 감각을 대중들에게 보여주고 전유시키며 부상한 매체가 바로 만화였다. 식민지 조선 만화의 미학적 문법이 어떠한 영향관계 안에서 조선 만화의 특성을 체계화해 나갔는지 밝히기 위해 본고에서는 1920-30년대 만화가운데 인접 장르를 각색한 만화를 대상으로 분석했다. 이 각색과정을 통해 어떻게 교합하고 이 안에서 무엇을 취사선택 했는지 분석함으로써 만화가 대중성, 즉 웃음을 어떤 방식으로 확보해 나갔는지 규명했다. 코믹스가 처음 등장했던 1920년대에는 모자람을 통해 흥미로움을 전달하는 인물, 사건전개에 따른 장면전환, 복수라는 통속성을 가미해 코믹스의 문법적 기틀을 마련했다. 덧붙여 모험과 기담, 쫓고 쫓기는 긴장감을 주는 활극성도 1920년대 코믹스에 등장하는 요소였다. 이는 1910년대부터 유행했던 희활극 영화와 모험을 모티프로 한 번안 번역 소설을 읽던 대중독자를 만화로 유입하는 데 유효했다. 모험과 여행이라는 활극적 상상력을 갖춘 번역 소설인 <허풍선이 남작의 모험기담>은 활극성을 더욱 가미하는 방향으로 각색되었다. 이는 '사랑의 성취'라는 구체적인 목표 설정과 함께 긴장감을 불어 넣으면서 통쾌함을 선사했다. 게다가 식민지 경성을 배경으로 각색함으로써 독자들에게 피식민지인의 대리물로서 통렬한 복수와 통쾌함도 제공했다. 한편 1920년대에 기틀이 마련된 코믹스는 1930년대에 이르면 보다 통속화되는데, 김규택의 만문만화는 이를 잘 보여준다. 1920년대 만문만화가 세태풍자에 그쳤다면, 김규택의 만문만화는 1930년대 유행했던 에로그로넌센스의 감각을 끌어들여 독자로 하여금 보다 통쾌한 웃음을 유발하는 방향으로 나아갔다.

마이산도립공원의 전망경관 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Visual Aspects in MAISAN Provincial Park)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of viewing aspects based on formal aesthetics and psychophysica approaches of the MAISAN provincial park for landscape management. Two methods are applied in this study. First, according to the field study with map the quantitative analyses of the viewshed area, visual section and scenery types were achieved, herein the visual landscape characteristics is found. Second, based upon visual preference evaluation of the relationships between the viewing aspects and visual preference scores to landscape slides were measured by questionnaires. The main conclusions obtained by the research are as follows. Visual area of MAISAN has a quite wide viewshed though itself is surrounded. The preference for the visual terminal were change by its characteristics to the visual corridors, view points, viewing types and viewing distance. Especially, the regression analysis between visual preference and viewing distance indicated Y=-3.20X\sup 2\+18.64X+20.64. In this case, viewing distance 794m from O\sub p\ is more important point for visual experience. The viewing types B·C and famous view A obtained a high visual preference score. A visual terminus are viewed along an entire RouteA, so revealed by its evolving spatial containment as to exact the full potential of its changing perspectives. Also we conducted the degree of visual influence by the shade in visual area at MAISAN and clarified viewing vantage Route and point in LSH being necessary for landscape preservation.
