Effectiveness of Nutrition Education in Improving Maternal Knowledge and Attitudes towards Complementary Feeding Practices: A cluster-randomized controlled trial in Ondo State, Nigeria

  • Significant low knowledge and poor attitudes on complementary feeding undermine the practices. This study was a cluster randomized controlled trial in which 284 study participants were assigned into two groups. One intervention group and a control group in a ratio of 1:1. Nutrition education on complementary feeding was carried out among the caregivers in the intervention group but the caregivers in the control group were not educated. To determine complementary feeding knowledge and attitudes, data was collected from caregiver at baseline, midline and at endline using researcher-administered questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. From the analysis, there was a significant difference in complementary feeding knowledge of the caregivers after the intervention. The baseline difference was -0.06, the midline difference was 3.85 the endline difference was 4.00 and the DID of the baseline and endline was 4.06 which was significant at p=0.001. There was a significant difference in the attitude of the caregivers towards complementary feeding at baseline (-0.14), midline (2.09), endline (3.82) and the DID of baseline and endline was 3.96 which was significant at p=0.001. The intervention improved the caregivers' knowledge on complementary feeding and it improved the attitudes of the caregivers towards adequate complementary feeding.

  • 최근 웨이블릿 변환은 많은 분야에서 다양하게 적용된다. 본 논문에서 tasks뇌파의 중요한 몇가지 특성파 검출을 위한 다비치 웨이블릿은 뇌파분석에 필요하다. 우리가 제안한 시스템은 다른 방법보다는 특성파 검출에 높은 성능을 가졌다. 본 연구의 뉴럴시스템의 구조는 하나의 은닉층과 3계층 피드포워드층은 오류 BP 학습알고리즘을 적용하였다. 4명의 피험자에게 알고리즘을 적용하여 92% 분류율을 보였다. 제안된 시스템은 웨이블릿과 신경망으로 tasks 뇌파의 보다 정확하게 분석함을 보였다. 모의실험결과 tasks 뇌파는 의사의 노동력을 줄일수 있고 정량적 해석이 가능함을 보였다.

  • It is need to develop and apply a human pulse diagnosis system providing a quantitative and automatic analysis in the the oriental medicine. In order to analyze quantitatively the characteristic of pulsation, each of points had to be recognized accurately notifying the existence and the position of feature point in the wave form. And getting the period of human pulse. Thus, in this paper, it is proposed the preprocessing method of human pulse and the detection method of period by Wavelet Transformation. The human pulse is seprated from each band through Wavelet Transformation and feature points can be recognized through over the fact, and then the parameter of proposed Mac-Jin parameter is measured. Commonly, Human pulse signal has often various noises which are baseline drift, high frequency noise and so on. So it is significant to remove that noises. Thus, in this paper, the one period of human pulse is deciede and the feature points are detected after doing the preprocessing by wavelet transformation. As a result, it could be confirmed that this method is effective as a real program for the auto-diagnosis of human pulse.

  • In currently electronic systems, the speed of information integration has increased due to the development of electronic technology. However, due to the increase in the number of parts and groups, the product structure has become complicated. In this paper, a study was conducted to evaluate quantitatively the replacement of a small equipment. First, the level of the replacement was determined through the algorithm for the replacement level of parts. Next, we defined the ease of detail replacment, and the factors for each detail replacement. In order to calculate the weighting of the detail ease, we performed the analysis of the replacement process of subcomponents of communication exchanger and defined the evaluation criteria. Finally, the completion of the evaluation check sheet and the evaluation score table.

  • The use of caffeine as a psychoactive stimulant in tea has been observed to have serious negative effects in humans' systems such as respiratory, nervous, cardiovascular, renal and skeletal systems. This study was carried out to assess the levels of caffeine in 10 different tea brands available in local market in Dutse, Jigawa State, Nigeria. Quantitative analysis of caffeine was performed by a simple and fast UV-Vis spectrophotometric methods using different solvents for extraction. The caffeine content in all the tea samples analyzed in this study were below the maximum allowable limits set by the USFDA. Tea have been associated with adverse health effects and the claims made by manufacturers about the benefits of tea do not highlight risks associated with excessive consumption of a combination of the ingredients contained in tea. Long term effects of tea consumption of children and young people have not been adequately studied. Therefore, it is recommended that further research be carried out on the adverse effects of energy drinks on children. Research is also needed to be done on the effects of the combination of ingredients on health and excessive consumption of those ingredients to children and adolescents. People need to be educated and given proper awareness on the health risks associated with caffeine containing beverages.

  • 터치 인터페이스 입력방식에서 메뉴를 마우스를 이용하여 입력하는 것 보다 터치입력 방식이 의도하지 않는 터치와 입력의 어려움이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 버튼메뉴의 최소 형상버튼을 기준으로 형태와 크기변화에 따라서 사용성 평가를 분석하고자 한다. 적용방법으로는 터치 입력방식의 인터페이스 디자인에서 활용 할 수 있도록 회귀 모형식과 인터페이스 인간 수행 평가방법의 대표적인 모형인 피츠의 법칙(Fitts' Law)의 비교분석을 통해서 더욱 효과적인 정량적 수행예측 평가 모형식 적용을 통해서 가능성을 확인하고자 했다. 따라서 터치 환경에서 적용할 수 있는 버튼의 형상과 크기변화에 따른 사용자의 사용시간을 고려한 수행예측시간을 디자인에 반영할 수 있다.

Quantitative measurement of peri-implant bone defects using optical coherence tomography

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to visualize and identify peri-implant bone defects in optical coherence tomography (OCT) images and to obtain quantitative measurements of the defect depth. Methods: Dehiscence defects were intentionally formed in porcine mandibles and implants were simultaneously placed without flap elevation. Only the threads of the fixture could be seen at the bone defect site in the OCT images, so the depth of the peri-implant bone defect could be measured through the length of the visible threads. To analyze the reliability of the OCT measurements, the flaps were elevated and the depth of the dehiscence defects was measured with a digital caliper. Results: The average defect depth measured by a digital caliper was $4.88{\pm}1.28mm$, and the corresponding OCT measurement was $5.11{\pm}1.33mm$. Very thin bone areas that were sufficiently transparent in the coronal portion were penetrated by the optical beam in OCT imaging and regarded as bone loss. The intraclass correlation coefficient between the 2 methods was high, with a 95% confidence interval (CI) close to 1. In the Bland-Altman analysis, most measured values were within the threshold of the 95% CI, suggesting close agreement of the OCT measurements with the caliper measurements. Conclusions: OCT images can be used to visualize the peri-implant bone level and to identify bone defects. The potential of quantitative non-invasive measurements of the amount of bone loss was also confirmed.

Quantitative Comparison of the Photocatalytic Efficiency of TiO2 Nanotube Film and TiO2 Powder

  • We compared the plausible reaction mechanism and quantitative efficiency of highly self-organized TiO2 nanotube (ntTiO2) film with TiO2 powder. Film was fabricated by electrochemical potentiostatic anodization of titanium thin film in an ethylene-glycol electrolyte solution containing 0.3 wt% NH4F and 2 vol% deionized water. Nanotubes with a pore size of 80-100 nm were formed by anodization at 60 V for 3 h. Humic acid (HA) was degraded through photocatalytic degradation using the ntTiO2 film. Pseudo first-order rate constants for 0.3 g of ntTiO2, 0.3 g TiO2 powder, and 1 g TiO2 powder were 0.081 min−1, 0.003 min−1, and 0.044 min−1, respectively. HA adsorption on the ntTiO2 film was minimal while adsorption on the TiO2 powder was about 20% based on thermogravimetric analysis. Approximately five-fold more normalized OH radicals were generated by the ntTiO2 film than the TiO2 powder. These quantitative findings explain why ntTiO2 film showed superior photocatalytic performance to TiO2 powder.

신규간호사를 위한 감성지능 향상프로그램이 감성지능과 직무스트레스에 미치는 효과 -혼합연구설계- (Effects of Emotional Intelligence Improvement Program for New graduate Nurses on Emotional Intelligence and Job Stress -Mixed Methods Research-)

  • 본 연구는 신규간호사를 대상으로 감성지능 향상프로그램을 적용 후 감성지능 및 직무스트레스에 미치는 효과를 파악하고자 시도 되었다. 혼합연구설계이며 연구대상자는 신규간호사 29명(실험군 15명, 대조군 14명)을 대상으로 감성지능 향상프로그램을 주 1회 총 8주(20시간) 실시하였다. 양적연구는 SPSS/WIN 18.0을 이용하여 Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, t-test, repeated measure ANOVA로 분석하였고 질적연구는 내용분석을 하였다. 실험군의 감성지능과 직무스트레스가 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의한 효과가 없었다. 질적내용 분석결과 감성지능이 향상됨 임파워링 됨, 스트레스가 줄어듬, 나에서 우리로 변함, 미래의 나를 꿈꾸게 됨으로 나타났다. 다양한 시기의 간호사를 대상으로 감성지능 향상프로그램을 적용하고 그 효과를 검증하는 연구를 제언한다.

텍스트 네트워크 분석을 활용한 고령친화 분야의 연구동향 분석 : 「보건의료산업학회지」 게재논문(2007~2018)을 중심으로 (A Study on Research Trends of Age-Friendly Using Text Network Analysis : Focusing on 「The Korean Journal of Health Service Management」 (2007-2018))

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends in age-friendly research and suggest directions for future research. Methods: For this study, 112 articles related to age-friendly research were selected, from 605 published articles in The Korean Journal of Health Service Management (2007-2018). Content analysis and text network analysis were conducted using SPSS 23.0 and NetMiner 4. Results: First, 2 authors (30.4%) and 4 keywords (45.5%) were the most studied. Most of the studies used quantitative research (93.8%). Primary data (61.9%) and SPSS (77.7%) were the most used for analysis. Second, there were seven common keywords in the top 10 in all the centralities. They were Elderly, Geriatric Hospital, Depression, Care Workers, Long-Term Care Facilities, Experience, and Attitude. Conclusions: This study shows the need for diversity of research topics, subjects, research methods, and analytical tools in future age-friendly related studies. In addition, it suggests activating convergence research in this field linked to various industries and services.
